Scotland Yard, kinda?
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

Ooh, yes,
Letters from Whitechapel
is also very good.

Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective
is the No.1 game that I want to try but finding a copy appears impossible at the moment.

CDB i have Sherlock Hilmes Vonsulting Detectove! I actually brought it to the first April Meet but it didn't get played... it's not really a meet style game, is the thing. but I can definitely bring it to the next thing and you'd be welcome to borrow it. Oh also my copy Has no box but it has all the relevant parts.

Maybe try
Mystery Express
. Had to look that one up (I vaguely remember the announcement not interesting me a while ago), but it's Days of Wonder, which means good component quality and playtesting, and it's meant to be an upgraded clue.

I have no personal experience but I know
Mystery of the Abbey
often gets hyped as "Clue on steroids", so that might be worth research.

i've played a ton of mystery of the abbey because it's one game I can consistently get my mom to play (the other, weirdly enough, is dominion), and it is very like clue, but with a few changes. It reduces randomization because you don't have dice rolls, but it introduces it in other areas (mass cards that come up every 4/3 rounds, "scriptorum" cards that vary in effect, and "biblioteca" cards that vary from not that great to game changing. I don't know, it's not really what I'd think of as the perfect deduction/poe game, but it is fun.

Mystery Express
is good. Takes the Cluedo mechanic of recording which locations/suspects/etc you've seen but muddies it by having two of everything except for the real answers and then forces you to constantly shuffle cards around the table. Played it a few times now and does a good job of leaving me feeling clever but that I could just do a little bit better the next time.

So I'm going to start teaching people
Mage Wars
, which I would describe as M:tG's older brother, over OCTGN just to get people to play with. Anyone interested?

I'm very interested, but I feel that the magic of the game is lost without the physical components, just from watching reviews.

I owned this game for the longest time and tried to get people to play it and never could get enough people at once. So if there's a VASSAL mod or something for this, I would be down to play this instead of BSG the next time we have a free weekend.

Someone said I should post here. So fine. I am. Hi.

We're running a Mish Mash game of Cosmic Encounter. It's bold, possibly stupid, but also should be fun!

So if interested...sign ups here!

I do have scans of everything you need if you want.

The issue I have with
Mystery Express
is that the timing part of the game is algorithmically solved, so it's one where new players will have trouble while people who have played before s
Mystery in the Abbey
is my preference for the hyper-Clue(do) game, as it is all about the deduction aspect.

I ordered a copy of this at the end of August. It's still not in stock where I ordered it from, and they keep sending me "you sure you don't want to change your order?" mails

Also, GreyICE can confirm I'm very good at Letters from Whitchapel/Mr. X

Betrayal at House on the Hill

it's a pretty simple/fast download

also it doesn't specifically need to be tonight. I mean, yeah, tonight is Halloween, but this whole weekend works.
