mfw half the playerlist is scumreading bookitty

and i'm the only one left on the wagon ;-;

get your asses off policy lynches, at the very least wagons create pressure and shit to talk about

policy votes do nothing, i think policy lynch should be reserved for when we're near the deadline

Liking Varsoon recently. On the other hand, STD is reading very defensive to me. In particular, the line "since I am town, it concerns me when someone scumreads me and I like to figure that shit out." feels more than a little forced. One would presume that someone with STD's long history of the game would let the occasional day one scumread roll off his back pretty frictionlessly.

Well, the word "gut" is at the start of that sentence, but I concede that that's unhelpful. It's a little stupid, but the nonchalant use of your name in Boo's 288 was the trigger that started me on these lines. (And yes, I realize my name's there, too.)

mathdino: I don't think Skrew is entirely a policy lynch. I've explained one perspective under which I see a scum-Skrew, and the most recent resignation post hasn't done wonders. Then, of course, there's the policy lynch perspective, which as I've argued before, is not worth dismissing outright in this game. Finally, if the goal is to generate pressure to get something to happen, there is literally no one in the game who needs pressuring more right now than Skrew.

Flames, could you do us the courtesy of providing us with a reads list? Also, can you explain what you meant about Honey bee using meta against you?

@Nobody Special: What did you learn from the games STD linked you up to?

I read Newbie 1465 for your town game, in which you were pretty useful all the way through. It was nothing like this game. (I still don't get the point of asking "are you scum?" but everyone seems to do it, so that's whatever.)

For a scum sample, I read Newbie 1458 in which you were a pretty bad elf, a Mafia roleblocker and just about as useless in thread as here.

I was waiting for you to be more useful and/or to produce content usable to read you, since what I found was newbie games and they aren't always indicative of general playstyle. Still, I'm pretty confident that your game here is more of scum than of town for you.

When you looked at the games linked upon your request, what did you learn?

I was trying to hold off on this until more people posted content because spotlighting behaviours tends to have an effect on them one way or the other. At this point, though, I'm feeling better and I want to discuss these things before deadline looms, so here it is.

I read the Mafiascum Fantasy Camp 2 game Reck hooked me up with. It had four players from this game in it in three slots; SleepyKrew replaced Nobody Special in it. Here's what I learned from MFC2:

I've played with UT in a game where I was scum and he was town. He was scum in MFC2 and was WAY more proactive and aggressive than I saw in Oldy 2. I was already reading UT as town based on his postings here compared with Oldy, but I'm even more confident now based on the contrast between his laid-back style there and his activity and attitude in MFC2.

Reck is always cowboy shooting-from-the-hip regardless of his alignment imo. I read him as strong town here (he was town in MFC2, as well) because he's reading people much the same way I am and I can see why he would want to policy lynch Nobody Special based on MFC2. I do not like policy lynches but I do not think they are alignment indicative. I like Reck for town.

Nobody Special offered nothing of use in MFC2; however, one notable difference is that he put votes on people that sorta kinda made sense at the time. His reads were generally wrong, but he was actually indicating what they were. He questioned people for acting like they didn't remember him, too.

I also got the sense that NS was trying to keep up with the MFC2 game. This does contrast somewhat with his play here. NS is either trying to 1) taunt farside into voting him or 2) legitimately doesn't know why she's sniping at me, which argues he's not bothering to keep up with this thread. His sheep onto the SK wagon looks either opportunistic or an attempt to blend in with farside (others too, but she is the one I'm interested in here) which is definitely dissonant with the first explanation of taunting. The same-alignment nonsense is baffling as well.

Now to SleepyKrew. I'm pretty sure this slot is town given interactions with other people I'm reading as town and the general IDGAF attitude he's displaying. This corresponds almost perfectly to his play upon replace in to MFC2. Contrast this with his play in Cave Story Mafia where he was focused, intense, and flipped scum night one. This doesn't look like SK's scum game to me.

Questions, comments, contradictions welcome.

UT has basically stood on the sidelines of this game and chimed in on things that aren't alignment indicative. In the meta argument, even in Oldy it felt like he actually had cases and was suspicious of people.

In MwaT 1 SK was making useful cases with me, was being pretty helpful and seemed town to me by the end of D1
In Cave Story he seemed to pretend to make useful cases and something bothered me about his play; he seemed scum by the end of D1

In this he's playing different, but I'm not sure if it's active lurking or he just hasn't had time to pop into the thread.
