Welcome aspiring timelords. We are looking for a very diverse set of individuals looking to embark on a journey throughout all of time, and it will be no easy task. The most suited 21 individuals will be selected for this battle to become The Last Timelord.

Signups will last for 72 hours at the minimum. If we receive more than 21 applications, we will NOT be doing first come first served.

{GENERAL RULES}

This is a game. The main objective is to have fun; so no excessive flaming, spamming, or submission of anything else prohibited within the MS forums.

{02}

This is a game. The secondary objective is to win. Regardless of how amusing you think it may be, do not join merely to troll the other players.

{03}

We are not infallible, so if any of the moderating team makes a mistake, please point it out and we will correct it if needed.

{04}

We have worked extensively to produce a game that is enjoyed by all involved. As such, we promise to offer each player respect but expect to be shown the same in return.

ANONYMOUS

. All participants are strictly prohibited from so much as hinting to their own identities or implying another player's mafiascum identity. If you are talking with other scummers outside of this forum, you must not state or imply that you are playing in this game. Communication outside the private message system is also forbidden until otherwise stated. Failure to follow this rule can result in a variety of consequences ranging from a terse warning to one's elimination from the game. We reserve the right to determine the severity of possible infractions.

You are allowed to speculate on the identities of other players in your confessional. However, making game decisions based on who you believe characters to be is

highly

discouraged, and is stupid.

{07}

Exercise common sense. If you are unsure as to whether an action conflicts with the rules, ask. Yes, this is a competition, but do not attempt to undermine challenges or game mechanics for your own gain. This violates both the spirit of the game and common respect mentioned above.

{08}

Private communication with players outside of your tribe or eliminated players is strictly prohibited. Any player found in violation of this rule will be penalized.

{09}

Any and all posting about this game outside the provided forums unless SPECIFICALLY STATED is illegal.

{10}

The posting of Private Messages (whether via text (paraphrasing is fine) or via image) in a public forum is explicitly disallowed. You may, however, post them in your confessional. You are also prohibited from taking a screenshot of private messages and showing them to other players. Forwarding is allowed.

{11}

The moderators may discipline any player that breaks the rules however we see fit, depending on the specific situation. We also reserve the right to implement new rules if needed.

{GAME MECHANICS}

{01}

PM's are only to be used for communication within your tribe. All out-of-tribe contact is to be confined to challenge threads and general discussion.

Immunity Challenges:

{02}

Every round will possess an Immunity Challenge. Winners of the Immunity Challenge will be safe from elimination that round and cannot be voted out at Tribal Council.

{03}

The outcomes of all Challenges are final. That said, however, be sure to keep Rule 03 of General Rules in mind.

{04}

We appreciate the fact that prospective contestants will enter this game with a range of skills. With this in mind, understand that we as mods can't cater to all players' needs and time constraints in challenges.

{05}

All challenges will begin immediately after the previous Tribal Council has ended, and will have a 48-hour timeframe.

Tribal Council:

{06}

The Tribal Council is where players are eliminated. Before the merge, only the losing tribe or tribes will visit TC, and will vote one player off. After the merge, all remaining players will go to TC, including immunity challenge winners.

{07}

Tribal Councils will last exactly twenty-four hours from the end of the challenge. If a player fails to submit a vote within the given time frame, they will receive a selfvote. In the event that a player knows he or she will be unable to vote by deadline, that player may notify the moderators and cast a conditional vote to avoid penalization.

{08}

The results of Tribal Council will never be posted early, even if all players have voted.

{09}

The modification of votes after they have been submitted is allowed. Players are able to change their votes as many times as they want until the Tribal Council is posted.

{10}

Questions concerning ties in the Tribal Council may be found below:

Spoiler: Breaking Ties

{I}

In the event of an initial tie, a revote shall take place. Contestants may only vote for one of the tied players, and all tied individuals may not vote.

{II}

If a plurality is not met in the revote, the following methods (in the given order) will be implemented to determine which player is eliminated:

1. If one of the tied players has selfvoted at that Tribal Council, they will be eliminated and the Tribal Council will be over.

2. If more than one of the tied players selfvoted, then the tied player with more past selfvotes is eliminated.

3. If the above does not apply, or if there is still a tie, then the tied players will become immune from elimination. A random player at the Tribal Council without immunity will then be eliminated.

4. If it is Final Four and the tie isn't broken on the revote, then there will be a tiebreaker challenge between the two players involved in the tie.

Twists:

{11}

Twists will be implemented without warning or provocation throughout the game. The time and setting of each twist has already been determined, so as to neither give an unfair advantage or disadvantage to a player or group of players.

Time Travel:

{12}

The defining game mechanic of Survivor: Doctor Who is time travel, also known as warping. Players may travel backward in time to any round in the game, but must post in a designated thread in their confessional whenever they wish to do so.

{13}

Players must wait (3 x rounds traveled) hours after every warp before warping again. Warping from the past back to the present also falls under this rule.

{14}

Players can change their votes from a previous TC by warping back to the round it was on. If a vote being changed causes a different majority to be reached, then whoever now has the majority at that TC is considered as voted out from that TC, while the player who was originally voted out takes that player's place in the game. Any eliminations changed during the course of a challenge are announced with the results of that challenge, while any eliminations changed during the course of a Tribal Council are announced with the results of that Tribal Council.

{15}

When a player is not in the present, he or she is only allowed to PM the player that was eliminated from the game during that round. So that the player eliminated that round knows who they are allowed to talk to, all eliminated players will be notified via PM and via a message on mafiascum when anyone enters or leaves their round.

{16}

Once the Final Three is decided, all remaining players are immediately transported to the present, and no further time travelling or alteration of votes may occur. The players from 3rd to 9th place are all now the jury.

{17}

If a player is absent from present time for at least 24 hours of an individual challenge, he or she automatically forfeits. He or she may help out on tribal challenges whenever in present time.

{18}

A self-vote occurs on a player if he is away from present time throughout the duration of a present-time Tribal Council. This self-vote cannot be altered.

{19}

All eliminated players may alter their votes from any previous TCs whenever they wish. However, their time traveling capabilities are limited, so only TCs as far as 7 rounds back from the present may be altered by any players.

{20}

If a player being brought back into the game has not visited the site in 72 hours, their elimination is not altered. So no bringing back inactives from the past!

While I think River had the better FTC, with managing to say something nice to all the jury members, The vote comes down to how I think the entire game was played out, and I think Donna had a game plan closer to my own, even though I failed in some of it. While voting me out had a sour taste, they were both helpful in not letting me go at my third eligible TC, which would have hurt my belief I can play this game.
I understand my boot was a necessary evil, and was probably partly my fault for only actually having an official alliance with two players, and I can't hold that back on the winner (or 2nd place ig others aren't voting with me), the fact she was wiling to self avarice to get to the end makes a worthy survivor winner in my opinion.

I think there was a part of me that wanted to vote for Donna this whole time. Maybe because I felt River's betrayal of me in the round I was voted out was too painfully obvious. I mean you're supposedly my ally and you're the only one not telling me that I'm a target, plus you're not telling me that you're going along with the person I'm targeting. It was really clear and not a good way to send someone to jury.

Then again Donna managed to shaft me in Empress's thread about saying one nice thing about each juror and one thing to improve their game. I imagine it was an oversight but, you know it would have been nice to hear both the positive thing and from a game improvement standpoint from her.

Both of you seem to take credit for convincing me not to switch my Sarah Jane vote. IIRC the only person who was talking to me about it either way was Editor, who wanted me to change it. I had my reasons for believing it would be better not to, but that's because I didn't know about your guys' alliance and how much that might benefit me to shake things up. It's possible that you guys both tried convincing me not to change my vote but I don't recall talking to either of you about it (it doesn't mean that it didn't happen, just I don't remember and while I did try to dig through the PMs of one of you already without finding anything I don't really feel like digging through them right now to look for this). It's really a moot point since both of you essentially suggest that you had a hand in it.

River, you botched task 1, it was a neat poem but a limerick and a haiku it was not. Donna gets a point.

In task 2 you both responded with really a bare minimum which is more or less what I expected. It's a tough question. The point was to see if you could say something nice about the other person and how they played the game. You both earn a point.

In task 3 Donna didn't attempt a joke while River did. I wasn't a big fan that it was at Beast's expense, the whole point of task 3 was to help lighten the mood a bit, and avoid any sort of negativity. But I didn't express any sort of extraneous requirement so River would get a point there.

It's all tied up. My intention going into it was to base my vote solely on the three task I had given, whoever completed more of them would win my vote, and if it were tied I would base it off of who did them better. But I don't think I want to do that. There's someone I think has shown that they are more deserving of the win given answers elsewhere and through the speeches and that person is...

Donna, during the game I felt like you and I shared a rather special bond. We had a similar mindset about the game and shared a lot of the same insecurities. You were definitely the person I hit it off with the best during the fake merge, and after the real one I felt like we grew even closer. After reading all this endgame stuff, I'm struck and impressed by how you managed to be so incredibly loyal to your core alliance, working precisely to weed everyone not in that group out of the game despite some even within that alliance's best efforts to the contrary. It's no coincindence that your final four was the one you'd wanted for weeks on end, and after that things of course were unavoidably messy but you ended up on top anyway.

River, what can I say. With Jack missing for so much of the game you were far and away the person I was closest to. I shared everything I knew and everything I thought about the game with you, even though you had no intention of ever taking me to the end. That just shows how skillfully you had me wrapped around your finger to use as you would. You skillfully kept your true alliances a secret to the very end, you used and manipulated whatever you had to to get to where you needed to be, and as the trail of dead comrades grew longer behind you you still managed to keep up the warm, caring facade you'd worn all game. Your ability to socially engineer this game was simply incredible, so much so that in the vast majority of scenarios you were destined to end up here.

So who do I vote for then? Do I vote for the girl who never betrayed me, but also never gave me a chance? The girl who stuck loyally to her core alliance, but watched anyone outside that alliance, friend and foe alike, fall without blinking an eye? The girl who played a masterful under-the-radar game, completely ignored as a target until the very end, but likewise made no real moves of her own?

Or do I vote the one I'd hoped to see win this game from nearly the beginning, the one I was quietly still rooting for even as she stabbed me in the back? The one who I would have happily taken the fall for if only we'd planned it out, but who didn't feel me worthy of sharing anything so important with? The one whose PMs I always looked forward to the most because they were so wise and understanding, yet now I know were laced with lies?

I'd like to say I played this game with integrity. When I allied with someone that was a statement that I was willing to go any length possible to see that person to the end. It wasn't just some non-aggression treaty, just something that said I'd leave you alone if you left me alone, or something that came with an understanding that I'd be betraying you as soon as it became convenient. I'd like to think my moves, my votes, and where I put my energy in this game bear that out. So, even though I was ruthlessly betrayed, I will still honor my alliance with my final act in this game.

I have considered this vote a lot more carefully than I think a lot of the other jurors have, and that's because it's my nature. One thing I want to note before I start talking is that I don't know how to quantify good use of the time travel twist in terms of defining what good play is. Certainly, for reasons related to it, we can easily demonstrate that Donna was always, as every point in the game, far and away the most likely player to make it to Final Tribal Council. Good on her. However, there are other things at play here, and I don't feel that's the entirety of what merits a winning performance. One point Donna used in her closing statement is that River is only here because Donna did not swap her with Jack. And that is absolutely true. What it ignores is that swapping River with Jack would have been an absolutely atrocious move, and she should not have even considered it in the first place; Jack is a challenge beast, and would obviously have taken Storm because that would be his only thing resembling a chance. At any rate, I feel this Final Tribal was always extremely likely, if only in large part because Donna could be counted on to make a poor decision if she won Final immunity. Speaking of Final Immunity, I wish I had asked River whether she would have taken Storm given the chance. I believe that she would have, and therein lies the difference between these lovely ladies. River put it well.

Quite frankly, that is absolutely true, and a perfect summary. Donna's tossing me into the past still frustrates me, and is an excellent example of this, but there are many others. The fact is, Donna's Plan A featured Brigadier beating the snot out of her at Final Tribal. That's a bad plan. She was given another chance for admittedly stupid reasons when the game relieved her of Brigadier (I still wish none of us had done any of that, it could have and actually should have ruined the game), and took River rather than Storm when given the chance. I'm sorry, but that was just incorrect, and I think she realized that even when she was doing it! When River plays to win, that shows me that she actually

wants

to win. I love Donna and all, but she doesn't have a cutthroat bone in her body, and you need that to earn my vote when I feel both of you played comparable social games, because those are essentially the two things that drive my decision.

I don't think River's decision to vote for Donna at F4 was nearly as out of the blue as Donna claims, either. Because River was playing to win. I don't believe that it was one little statement Donna made that shot all that to hell. But it doesn't even matter if I'm wrong; if I'm wrong, then she did an amazing job of stringing me along. And that's just a microcosm for her entire strategy. River is able to sincerely enjoy people, but still recognize that we're here to play a game, and she's shown clearly that her first priority was to win. I feel that she did a lot more to make that happen, and did not at any point coast. In a game of lies and deceit, I feel lying and deceiving should be rewarded when done right. And all the same, River only did those things when it benefited her, not to be cruel.

And that is why I feel that I simply have no choice but to vote for her to win. Donna, you asked me a long time ago how I would kill you, if I had to. Know that the answer I gave is essentially how I feel about this, and I choose not to write your name down with the utmost affection. I'll always treasure what we had! But River always had paths to win, and you could have had them too, but you didn't want them.

Looking back, this game was absolute nonsense, which I was sincerely expecting. I'm honestly just happy most everyone seemed to enjoy themselves through all the bullshit, and that a lot of people stuck it out to the very end. I had a lot of fun with Snakes and Flameaxe, and I feel like Flameaxe definitely deserves a lot of credit for picking up the slack when Snakes and I were being lazy or whatever. Anyway, I absolutely can't wait to run another game for you guys, and I'm legit claiming a spot in the queue for Names Are Hard for immediately after Hyrule. XD

I was pretty harsh on you in the spectator forums beast, I apologize for that! I think a lot of it stemmed from one of my biggest pet peeves being lack of self-awareness. Throughout most of the game, any time a spectator or mod asked you a question about what you were going to do to keep yourself safe, you'd just say something along the lines of "I'm the best, so I don't need to do anything" and it just made you come off to me as arrogant and overconfident. Especially since I don't think you even played poorly, I just know you could have done so much better if you had recognized your flaws. So basically, a lot of it was frustration at your unmet potential.

Weeping Angel is now the Round 2 boot, and Nefertiti is brought back into the game as a member of the Earth tribe in Weeping Angel's place.

Meanwhile, Brigadier/Donna change their Round 16 votes to Rassilon, making Rassilon the Round 16 boot and bringing Dorium back into the game. Unfortunately, Rassilon lost the tiebreaker challenge so Dorium becomes the Round 18 boot.

The final three is now River, Donna, and Storm, and time travel ceases.

Donna wins final immunity and votes out Storm. River wins the jury vote against Donna 5-2.
