Given that I've cashed out of the last 4 GPs I've attended I'm confident in saying that actually no, I'm not just crying because I suck at the game
Also I specifically said that my thoughts came from the perspective of "playmore mcspikington" so you know

Playmore McSpikington is my porn name.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

And I don't believe you're approaching the issues people have with rare redrafting from any perspective other than your own typically blinkered one. Beliefs are fun!

I thought my LGS was stingy for prize support of 2 packs for winner and 1 each for 1-2... (although the entry fee is 12 euros, so that's actually pretty ok, I guess)

redrafting makes me cringe. I'm not sure I really buy the "people picking money over good cards" thing - like, that's at most once per pack and more likely significantly less likely than that, since you first have to open a money rare, then have that be a money rare that isn't good in limited. It's not like anyone would be passing a pack 1 deathmist raptor or a whisperwood elemental at a GP anyway.

I suppose I'm lucky, then- my store is $15 to draft, and gives 8-4-3-2 for the top prizes; and everybody who didn't get a prize gets a rare from the junk rares box as a consolation. Of course, they probably make for the prize support with the overpriced concession stand.

My old LGS was $20 CAD, which got three packs to draft plus one per person as prize support, and 2 random promos per 8-man pod. Usually we did 4-2-2-2, with 2nd place and one of the bottom half getting promos. It wasn't incredible, but everyone was happy with it. When they did FNM drafts, it was $25, 2 packs per head, and usually a promo if you didn't win anything.

The store I'm involved with here in Chicago runs 3 per head as prize support for drafts and 4 per head as prize support for constructed. 15$ and 10$ respectively.

That seems really generous unless their other products are equally expensive. What do they charge per pack normally?

I have at least made my money back on 2 boxes of MM15, including 2 Goyfs. I'm also about the only person in the store to manage to do so off their boxes.

I opened a Daybreak Coronet and Mox Opal. Gave the Coronet to my creditor and managed to come up with a free Mox Opal.

Leave for vegas in about 10 hours. Plan "scrub out and play poker the whole weekend" will be in full force.

Although day 2 nets you two free MM drafts. Dat value.

Hah! That is you in the LRR chat. Said it there, I'll say it here: That's some solid value, plus your deck looks sweet.

I have wondered if the bv310 is you, glad to get some confirmation. Yeah, deck was sweet. Ended up planning on splitting the finals and playing it out, but my opponent scooped to me after he had to run.

I hate the idea to split. Seems unsporting.

it's unsporting to say "hey, let's get prizes to the best place for both of us"?

Maybe they should do that in other sports. Maybe NFL teams should just split the Lombardi trophy this year. They can play the first half out for fun, then leave for dinner.
