Heroes of the Storm

This forum is specifically for discussing non-Mafia games

.
Playing
such games should happen in the Mish Mash forum, of course.

I'd like to try getting into this. I listed myself as interested in the beta on battle.net.

Are there any other hoops to jump through to be more likely to receive a key?

That's a good point. How much money is it to buy that much in-game currency?

Gold is in-game currency apparently, and 2500 is enough to a low-tier champion. So it's like 450 IP, except that the difference between cheapest and most expensive champions is smaller in HOTS apparently.

From what I can tell, everything is buyable with in-game currency except for the skins ($27.50 based on my source) and the mount (likely exclusive).

Maybe it's just that I'm unfamiliar still, but I think HotS doesn't do as good a job as League at making it clear when your ability made an impact. There's not a lot of drama that lets you know that a skillshot landed and such outside of ultimate abilities.

I also played Dota for a bit, where abilities have absolutely zero feedback, so HotS seems like a big improvement.

Nova's W is a good example. The animations are pretty uninspired.

Her ult does feel fun, though. That was the first ability that felt fun to me. Though Anubarak's Rek'sai attack also looks fun.

I definitely don't know what I'm doing really. I would like a link to the ranked meta do that I can rage from other than a position of ignorance.
