I have read that it actually is not in the spirit of the queen to be a defensive piece, but this is more of an active defense than the alternative of moving d6-d5, "attacking" a pawn that's protected twice. With my extra pawn I love the idea of trying to consolidate my structure and push you like a sumo wrestler. :)

I thought of Qe5 to prevent Qxe6 but saw the danger of an eventual subsequent Bh6, and there's something that a certain continuation after my g5 allows that makes the obvious menace of Bh6 seem to have less of a sting as far as I can see.

g5 does remove Bh6 immediately, but does it really make a difference? I can't see how you can avoid a mate or a queen loss, actually. But maybe I'm missing something, I'll let you do the calculation :P

The move I am anticipating right this moment is Qf7+. It's funny: the e pawn was on e6 and not e7 and so did not protect against Qf6; I'm not sure how much credit I can give my 9. e6 move for helping me at all.

Since some moves here are forced, I officially allow you to add, if you want, Kh8 Bf6+ Qxf6 Qxf6+ Kg8 Qxe6+

and then make a move :o

Looking back now, the only thing e6 ever did was allow your queen to progress to F6. other than that, it was completely useless. But that wasn't something you could have expected at the time; maybe e5 instead could be interesting, but that's an entirely different game!

obviously Qd5 was your worst mistake. Probably Qh5 would be best.

After Qf7+, I make the move 34... Kh8, and I look at the result on the board. And consequently, I resign.
The move after Kh8 is what makes me ending up with no more will. I was given hope to at least defend with more dignity (but my position was lost nonetheless) after 35. Bh6 by moving 35... Rg4 (assistance given along my g-file that g5 followed by Bxg5 made possible), but I realized that after Qe5 and Kh8 aligned the queen and king, there was 35. Bf6 instead of Bh6 and AGAIN the ending of the game by the power of a fork!
