2015 NFL 3 Strikes Challenge

Pretty much the standard Eliminator challenge, but you get additional lives.

RULES

The objective of the challenge is to correctly select a "Winning Pick" for one NFL game each week.

Each week, you must select one team which you believe will be the winner of that game. Please post in thread and

bold

your pick for that week. If you are correct, you stay alive. However, if your pick for that week loses its game, or you fail to make a pick for a given week, you earn a Strike. If you earn three Strikes, you are eliminated.

Once you pick a team, you can't use that team the rest of the season.

The last remaining person wins. If more than one person is left standing after Week 17, the following tiebreaker is used:

1. The person who has the least amount of Strikes
2. The person who has the longest streak of correct picks
3. The person whose Winning Picks have the largest aggregate total score difference over the course of the season.

For example:

The aggregate total for a 3 week season would be 31+21+3 = 55 points.

Week 1: Win 45-14 (31pts)
Week 2: Win 31-10 (21)
Week 3: Win 17-14 (3)

Lock-time
All selections will lock at the scheduled kick-off of each game. Players must make sure their picks are submitted by the scheduled locktime each week. You will not be able to make selections for games that have already locked. Selections submitted after the deadline are considered invalid, and will not be counted as Winning Picks. Entrants who submit selections after the lock time and do not submit another entry for the week will earn a Strike.

Tie Games
In the event a game should end in a tie after overtime, players that had selected teams in the game as their picks for that week will neither be recorded with a Winning Pick or a Strike.

Joining in late
Players have until Week 3 to join.
If you join in Week 2, you start the game with one Strike. If you join in Week 3, you start the game with two Strikes.

Less than 24 hours until the first locktime, after that point you may no longer pick Pittsburgh or New England - you would still be eligible to pick any other team this week with no penalty. Get your picks in!

24 hrs until the major locktime - picks after that are limited to the Monday Night Football games - but if you pick before Sunday 1pm EDT you still can pick those. Slots still open!

Week 1 has finished and only 2 players have earned strikes: Axxle and Salamence20. They still remain in the game. The other 12 players have all selected teams that won! All players still in the game.

Please remember that in Week 2 you are not allowed to pick any team you have personally picked in a previous week.

Anyone can still join this week! You will start with one strike from Week One though.

At least BS2000 is strikeless going with the anti-Bears strategy.

Apologies for not updating the google doc - it's there mainly to reflect what's going on - it's not meant to be the official entry as timestamps here are easily visible. I'm back from v/la and will be able to update better before gametime. If there are any mistakes, please let me know.

Congrats to Haschel Cedricson for winning the "Unofficial" Survival Pool! It's unofficial because one was not run this year and players may have been more liberal with picks knowing that there were 3 strikes this game.

There was no stated tiebreak, was there?

Probably it would've been A, but continue with additional picks if all three wanted to break the tie (officially or unofficially). I've never played a survivor pool before, so I was just going off of rules from last year.

Next year, I'd like to see a confidence points pick'em league.
