As long as my lovely comod can train me on setting up the offsite board I should be able to get everything together for my game within a week of being told I'm on deck. In a year or whenever. But I'll get the design done now :)

I don't know, I modded Colosseum and Arkham back-to-back (technically they were going at the same time at one point) and modded Colosseum under a month after NAH ended, so I don't think there should really be time restrictions. But I agree that only near-finished games should be formally added to the queue, otherwise it's only a list of ideas.

I would say that the point of time restrictions wouldn't be your workload as much as spreading the wealth, so to speak.

Ah okay, that makes sense. Hogging the queue is always one of my main concerns though, but it's usually the case that just no one else has games ready to run. I'm not sure if me hogging the queue is keeping other people from trying to design games though, which is a legitimate possibility I suppose.

Well here's the thing - if you restrict the queue to only finished games, and 1 queue per mod at a time, then you'll either A) continue to have volume because it's true that no one else has games ready to run, or B) not have to worry about people not designing games because you're "hogging the queue" (as unlikely as that is). There really is no downside to either scenario you describe with further restriction.

Status update on Survivor PSV:

- Forums complete.
- Design complete.
- Graphics complete (minus avatars, which will need to be updated based on players).
- Challenges about 80% complete.

We can be ready to go within a week of notification.

Alright, awesome. So first thing's first, if you have a game in queue that you've been making progress in, please message me about it. I'll check in with everyone anyways later today BUT if you wanted to reach out first, that would be awesome. Also if you have any specific suggestions about what you would like to see in the queue and how it is ordered/run, please message me.

Yes PMs are awesome and great. But that is not the fastest way to tell me about anything ever. Skype is. If you don't have me already, I'm real uncreative with my usernames and it's the same as this.

Yay! Congrats, xof!

So... I think we should establish some kind of official way to gauge interest in a game before it hits signups and implement a signup window. Because with how slow the queue is right now, priority should be given to games that can fill or meet their signup requirement. People have done pre-ins in the past, but with the "one game at a time" thing right now, nobody's gonna make their signup thread ahead of time with this current system.

Certain mods may not be popular or certain themes may flop, in which case, them not spending weeks not filling will speed up the queue a bit. (Also still throwing in my support for the "only go into the queue as you complete everything" idea.)

also the queue basically has become "Ooooh I have an idea, gonna post in the thread" and that's NOT what it should be for at all. (Which is why I think the previous "queue order" or rankings are dubious at best.)

Okay. So a few things. First I want to thank Ceph for handling this when it first became apparent it was needed and wanted. You gave the whole thing form and direction. Love you and your face <3.

I'm not sure what happened to RSX in the actual OP queue, but it's back where it should be since they never gave up their slot. However, they have requested to sit out a game cycle. So, I will be talking to everyone else in queue to see where their games are at, because I very much would like to have a game in signups by next week, and starting before the month ends.

I'm also considering making up a new thread that is for the queue itself and all related posts there, and making this one be discussions about what the community wants and needs the queue to actually be. Either way, I would very much like to continue the open discussion about how to make games and the queue run more efficiently.

P-Edit: I fully agree. If there's a large enough playerbase to make multiple games possible, I WILL be instituting staggered games.

First official change I am instituting. Effective after this post(which means, games before are not affected), you will ONLY be allowed to have one queue slot total. This means, even if you are not head designer of a game, but just there to make sure the game runs, you may only be in the queue once. If you have multiple game ideas, and one is more complete than the other that is currently listed in queue or your comods are busy for one game and not the other, you may switch that in and run that one first. The goal with this is to hopefully have more mods and faster game turnover. As well as it will be a lot easier to tell which games are most likely to be happening next, as well as who to talk to in order to find out more about said games. And also so that if people who mod would also like to play games, they will have the opportunity to do so instead of be the only ones modding games.

I will be having a list that is game ideas. This is for people who think they might do something with a theme or a game, but have no intentions of modding it any time soon or also have a queue slot already.

More organization ideas to follow. Will gladly take any and all suggestions. Some ideas will be publicly discussed, however some will NOT be. I will make the final judgement calls on said things but will endeavor to be as fair and impartial to everyone as possible. Odds are, I'll make mistakes but I will do my best to make things run well and happily for everyone :)
