On the topic of multiple games being run, I do have a suggestion.

If you are modding a game then you should obviously not play in the other concurrent game which means mods from both games should be responsible for communicating with each other on who they will be accepting into games so as to limit the amount of double upping people do. I am not against double dipping but if the two games can have mostly different player bases, then why not do it?

We have 18 players, but yeah, we're projecting like 40 days from start to completion even in the worst case scenario.

The only reason staggered signups wouldn't work is for returnee twists like Arkham btw

Right some games will just be very involved and shouldn't have signups next to it but thats why the mods can just discuss with each other a bit before hand. I don't want all the pressure on Xof for that because then she would never get to play again lol.

I think people should be able to decide if they want to play more than 1 at a time.

It was suggesed already, but running 1 small and 1 large game at a time might help. It will keep players around who don't want to spend 3 months to complete a game. This would require separate queues for small and large though.

If it takes too long for a game to start, people will lose interest. If a game lasts 3 months and a new player is interested 2 weeks after the game has started, he will need to wait 2,5 months to get in a game. That's very long.

Another option could be opening a game 1 month after the last one has started, or something similar. Although separation of small and large games is still the better option, in my opinion.

By merge there were 15 players in Arkham that were effectively finished playing. I think that's what this staggered signups is suggesting? Just wait till most people are dead? I wouldn't play two games at a time, but being dead doesn't take a lot of committment.

No, no it wouldn't. As of now there's no reason why smaller games can't run at the same time, they aren't subject to the queue right now.

That's what staggered games means. Games starting at some point during a game already running. That's what we've been talking about :).

P-Edit: Yes, that's exactly it. Once you get to a certain point there's only so many players actually involved anymore. There's no reason why a new game couldn't start. Also, early game and merge game are often very different, so commitment levels between the two are varied enough it is possible to be in multiple games like this if you so chose.

I believe we are completely ready (but I'll have to make sure we're on the same page in that regard).

To be clear, would staggered sign-ups mean that the mods of one game would effectively be barred from playing the games before and after?

Going off of that, if that is the case, do we have a constant "stream" of games ready to go?

As of right now games that are ready(or if given a week notification could figure out scheduling enough to go):
Battle of the Bands, Super Vanilla Survivor, and Reality Show X.
Status of all other games:
Survivor: Abridged has plans to be finished by the end of the month. Survivor: Mafiascum is complete enough that if given enough notification, and after something else ends, it could also run. Survivor: Star Wars will need time and is a huge undertaking and all 3 mods are involved in other games that should run first. Survivor: City of Walls and Secrets is still just in the idea phase as well as both mods are involved with other games that will run first. Orange is the New Black Survivor is mostly in ideas phase, but also far from being close to running, and has a mod already modding another game first. Survivor: Battlestar Galactica now has 2 comods, is quite thoroughly designed. Survivor: Logical Journey is designed a fair amount, but requires comods. Everything else has just been announced in thread.

So yes, there could very well be a constant "stream" of games set to go. But if we were to stick with how the queue has been going so far with the length of games as they are, it would be a very long time before we'd get through even this list. If there aren't that many games to go, we can also just not overlap at all. It's really just based on length of queue and playerbase size. And I am aware of a few games that are still in just the ideas phases that haven't bothered to join queue because it's long enough as it is.(Speaking of which, I'm going to be dividing the queue into completion status. If there are games that are just ideas and not close to being finished, or are subject to the one queue slot per mod rule, they will be going into that list.)

Once I actually wake up, going to plop a poll here to figure out if there's enough playerbase for and wants staggered games, and we'll start from there.

Staggered signups seems best for running multiple games, and I'm of the opinion that people should be allowed to sign up for as many games as they think they can handle, and if their performance in game suffers for it they'll learn a lesson for the next time!

Also, announcement:

Based on mod availability and game completion status, I have made the judgement call that Super Vanilla Survivor will be starting first. Please fill out the above poll, because we will be testing out staggered signups with Battle of the Bands halfway through Vanilla.

Anybody who expects to play in Battle of the Bands is requested to PM me as soon as possible. Trying to gauge player numbers since we're testing out the new system. You don't have to be 100% sure that you'll play.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Game start will most likely be the second weekend of October, unless PSV moves fast enough that we can go earlier.
