I would hate to have had to restart after going through the ruins my first time. I essentially played the entire game in one sitting when I first picked it up and I'm glad I didn't have to break that with a reset.

At least I knew how to get through what I'm pretty sure was the hardest puzzle in the game the
second
third time.
...actually, the Papyrus skull puzzle was the hardest one. I was kind of surprised by the margin of difficulty.

Papyrus's face was the only part of Snowdin that felt like toby wasn't trying to make it literally winnable by babies.
But if you keep talking to Pap he'll tell you there's a switch you can press to skip it.
