It being well known wasn't the problem for me, it was that I have listened to it a lot and it hasn't aged well. It sounds pretty dated compared to her newer stuff, like West Coast, Cruel World or Shades of Cool, which I also think have a more interesting sonority (Not even mentioning the even newer stuff which I haven't given a proper listen to yet). The reason I also think Born to Die's been exhausted it's because it wasn't just one song, but a whole album repeating the same sounds and same themes over and over. I liked it and I still do, but when I know there's more and better to Lana, it was disappointing seeing Born to Die in a BotB.
Also, she was much bigger on the Internet than on the radio. I thought by now anyone who frequently uses the Internet (social media/youtube/etc) would be familiar with her and her most known songs.
I've kind of reached the age where you mostly just listen to the stuff you listened to in your youth and don't seek new stuff unless someone shoves it in your face.
I know some people manage to keep seeking out new stuff and enjoying new things even when they are decades older than I am but I didn't really. The song contest is the first "listening to new things on purpose" event that has happened to me in the past 7 years or so.
As the last rays of sunlight fade, one killer chases another through the tangled madness of the city.
A flash of steel announces the presence of his quarry.
The stage is set.
The night explodes.
