I figured someone would try to use that data point but you have to remember I did so by winning immunity six times
in a row

I'm not saying we shouldn't do that again though it was definitely fun

I just don't think we should take that to mean newbies have a really realistic chance of winning :P

There's also Snakes and MattP who are worth bringing up as people who have made standout performances in their first games.

I almost think a fvf that isn't announced as such could be fine. Otherwise I agree wholeheartedly with ceph. (Whoa)

I also don't think looking at standout performances in various games means a lot, if any, to the potential performance of newbies as a whole in a fvf setup.

As someone whose first game was fans vs favorites, I definitely disagree that it's a bad format, I think it actually works better on MS than on the real show. That was Ceph's first game too and he did win :P

It's worth noting that while, on the show, favourites will have played (to date) a maximum of one time previously, the same is not true of almost any player who would be considered a "favourite" on MS. There is definitely more of an established community, more rife with friends (and rivals), and Summertime was a great example of that.

Yeah, that's the intention.

It worked better that one time.. It was only 2 people instead of the whole game. That's good, right? Right...?

I'm pretty sure I've become obvious to some people, to a point where I believe I've been identified in every anon I've played. (EtU may have been an exception with my early boot there)
I did have some people guess my name on others in live reveals for games I spectated though, seeing that was enjoyable

Courtney Dog. :]

Newbies vs Underdogs vs Finalists, with newbies being anyone who's played less then 2 games and anyone who's been to FTC instead of just winners to increase the pool. What would an Underdog be though? Anyone who hasn't made it to merge? Anyone in between Newble and Finalist?

Depends on whether or not we want to exclude anybody.
Most players with multiple games under their belt will have made merge at least once. (Other than myself I have no idea how valid this comment actually is)

:p Not every game can attract enough winners to make a tribe out of, I'm just saying.
I'm sure someone has statistics for who's been to FTC without winning and those names probably don't all scream "underdog"

I feel like if we did 6-person tribes it wouldn't be hard to fill at all!

Here's a list of finalists:
Betch
xofelf
Bellaphant
Shadoweh
Flameaxe
Reck
Snakes
Drench
Shiidaji
TheBreeze
DeasVail
CuddlyCaucasian
BPC
Brian Skies
Save The Dragons
TS
Nich
Cephrir
Klick
Mist7676
Jal
Nyalite
Chevre
Trevor
Rhinox
Cybele
Xalxe
kloud
Blackberry

Honestly that's way too many people

If you take out the winners aren't you only adding 13 people? It's not that many when you consider how likely 6-8 people on the Winner list are to join a game together, especially after just finishing one. I guess since you'd be soliciting them it's more likely but still. What's wrong with having enough variety to make it an 8-person tribe easy?
