shameless bump because a lot of new rappers have interested me

from the XXXL Freshman, I think G Herbo, Denzel, and Lil Dicky are my favorite off of it. Granted, I didn't listen to really anyone but the bigger names. I might soon. However, I've been getting into those three rappers because I think the'y're all really good in their own way.

Lil D is good because he's a lyricist that's got a great flow and has a good beat. He's sorta mainstream, but he's also really good with his lyrics. His most popular song is "Save Dat Money" which is a song about saving money rather than spending it which I found to be a really cool concept. More examples of this is like "Professional Rapper" where he's rapping a conversation with Snoop, and with "Flames" where he's just really good flow and lyrics.

G Herbo tells a story with what he writes. While you don't necessarily have to agree with it, you have to nod your head to the way he combines his own personal experiences with the flow that isn't fast but is made to tell a story. His music videos really do support that, too.

Denzel Curry is just fucking aggressive, and I love it. Most notably, you've got "Ultimate" by him, but that's such a memetier song because of how people use it for bottle flipping. I think Ult (a play off of Ultimate song which is really good with the same aggressive and lyricist, just not memetier) and Threatz are enjoyable for him.

I've been going into spotify discover recently, and I've discovered a lot of cool ass songs and rappers. Murs is one that comes to mind, his flow delicious, sick spit like kid vicious. Logic (not the one you might be thinking of, though that one is also good) has a really really cool accent to me, and he sounds great. Look up Lost One - Logic feat. Magda Sinit. Ottomattic seems pretty good, but I've only listened to one decent song.

I've gotten a lot into Joey Bada$$'s older songs. Not his new "ah' used ta' feel so devastarderd." Like, Christ Conscious, Unorthodox, and a lot of other songs (rip Capital STEEZ)

Also, Russ seems good, but I've only listened to what you want which is pretty good imo.

I've also been getting into ScHoolboy Q. He's got a couple really cool songs, and I especially love Kendrick's verse in Collard Greens with the Spanish.

Sub Me In by Futuristic and Devvon Terrel is a really cool and quick witted song. If you like fasted paced lyrical witty flow, then that's the song and those are the guys for you.

Been getting into Kid Cudi a lot more, too.

I've been listening to Old Kanye, Hopsin, Logic, Pac, Gambino, {All of N.W.A. before and after they split up}, Outkast, Cole, DMX, and Kendrick for a while now.

Tyga is someone I discovered a while ago, but it wasn't until now that I really started getting into his music. Really cool rapper regarding beats and how he gets the flow to correlate with it.

Oh, also Los with his amazing lyrics and freestyle.

and then ive got a few dark pleasure songs lol.

RIP $TEEZ dude, one of my biggest inspirations. You don't even know. 1999 from Joey is the better mixtape, but $TEEZ was the better person.

KTS, if you haven't listened to Nostalgic 64, Denzel's first mixtape, then you absolutely need to. It's the reason Denzel Curry is one of the best. You can't say you like him until you do.

Recently I've been listening to Get Rich or Die Trying, I never really got into 50 before surprisingly.

Also been getting into Joey Fatts, which is not something I regret. Him and Vince Staples are super nice.

Da$h and Retch are still who I've listened to for the majority of 2015-16, but I play so much Nas and Mobb Deep that I don't even mention that when rap is brought up. It's just natural.

MAXO KREAM has been going hard. $ha Hef is nice. Madeintyo and Playboi Carti nice.

Also also, LNDN DRGS. Absolutely do not sleep on em.

Danny Brown still a GOAT.

father and ILOVEMAKONNEN (ATL, Awful Records) been on. Not everyone appreciates the style, tho.

I've also been listening to old Memphis shit, namely Tommy Wright. Mystic Stylez by Three-6 Mafia has always been one of my favorite albums ever. I like chopped and screwed stuff a lot (RIP DJ Screw)

I'll just leave some stuff that comes to mind here.

Spoiler:

Nostalgic 64 is amaaazing. I like 32 zel/planet shrooms but it doesn't compare.

XXX is in my top 3 fav albums (other two are the water
and yeezus), danny is THE goat. Cannot wait for atrocity exhibition.

Been listening to a lot of Earl this summer. Doris and idlsidgo are both great, but I could honestly listen to doris every day for the rest of my life and be happy.

DJ Khaled's newest album actually surprised me. It has a lot of trash, but I've been bumping most of it quite a bit over the summer (holy key, jcole interlude, fuck up the club, work for it, tourist, forgive me father are all great)

Blonde is obviously amazing. Still haven't decided if i like it more than channel orange.

I was a little underwhelmed by young thug's JEFFERY after my first listen but it's a really solid project. Might dethrone ss3 as my fav thugger album.

And I'll always have a special place in my heart for ye's whole discog.

So i worked at a summer camp near Toronto this summer and introduced all my friends there to Night Lovell, a rapper from my hometown Ottawa. Everyone I showed him to was immediately hooked, I suggest you check him out. He's got two albums on spotify and apple music.
