It's another game of BattleCON! This time it's the Geomancer Hikaru vs. the Fire Elemental Kallistar!

If you're interested in learning about or playing a game yourself at some point I'll point you to the BattleCON discussion thread in the Arcade. For now, thanks to KingdomAces for stepping up to be the next scummer to whale on a Troll in the pbf fighting series!

@KingdomAces, we've got a couple things to decide before we start. Do you want to use Anted Finishers or the Force Gauge (I'm fine with either; for your first game the anted finishers are suggested. We can even use the Special Action if you want, though that's no longer the tournament standard and it's the most complicated of the three.) I'm going to go with the default discards and the alpha finisher to start the match, but you'll need to decide what you want to do. I'd prefer to start at positions 3 and 5 rather than 2 and 6 just because that's again the new standard as of Fate (the latest game in the series.)

I think that just putting your ante in with your spoiler would work until I get down to 7 life. I have no meaningful way to interact with it till then, so it can just be part of the attack pair.

It looks like with your ante you have priority. I lose 1 life at the end of the ante. Neither of us have start of beats; you are at range 2 and miss. I have range 1 - 2 so I hit for 4 + 2 = 6 damage. You're stunned. Because you didn't hit you don't regain the elemental token or move me, and I have no interesting on hits or after activations.

Some of the characters get much more WIFOM than these. As an example, Ottavia guesses the opponent's priority each ante. If she gets it right the opponent gets a -10 penalty applied to priority. Otherwise there's no effect. I look forward to playing her at some point!

Interesting. I thought maybe that was a calculated risk on your part as I like the position that you're in now much more for you than if you had advanced one space. The extra priority seemed an odd choice (and it turns out we would have clashed without it.) In any case, sorry that didn't work out, but the good news is that this is what learning games are for!

Technically you don't need to use another token at all, but clearly you want to use Fire here. The Grasp/Palm Strike combo would have killed me no matter what I did this beat (clash my drive and the other gets me.) I'm glad that I didn't go for the drive to start with because you had a couple numbers off. That would have been an unearned way to stay alive.

If you do get this one (any version) and want to play these pbf games then I'll be up for them! I do like that the game doesn't require the reflexes that the video games do. I'm also worried about how badly you'll stomp me this next game if you're still getting some of the parts wrong, but if I'm in for a stomping then I'm in for a stomping!
