When I was a child I knew this girl, she was very bubbly and I had a big crush on her. Her family life was kinda rocky and she didn't get along with many kids at school.
One day we're all just sitting or standing or something, someone is telling this one girl, or I guess more asking, saying "everyone's always calling you X's girlfriend isn't that weird?"
And then the convo revolved around that for a bit, her, the girl being talked to, saying that yea it was weird and somewhat annoying.
And then the girl I was crushing on said "Yea people shouldn't call you X's girlfriend that's inconsiderate."

And then a beat, a small silence that only lasted for a bit more than a second. Timing is something integral to joke-telling, it can be the difference between a large group laughing and uninterested stares coming your way. Some people, such as this girl, seem to have a natural talent for timing.

So she waits patiently for the silence to develop, for us to absorb the words she's said and reflect upon them as best we can with the time we've been given. Then she says:

"You're Y's sister!"

And I laughed. That's when my crush on this girl was cemented. I'm a sucker for humor.

The girls chuckle except for Y's sister, she holds firm, she won't allow herself to laugh at the joke of someone she disliked immensely. She just sort of glares at my crush and that makes her sorta wither away.

I felt bad but there was not much I could do. The girl turned on me soon after. Sent me mean stuff on aim when I was on. Those were some melodramatic days.

Anyway yea dumb title.

possibly weird request: could I have my title revoked (and have it go to whatever default it would be)? I got this title back in 2007ish because whoever was in charge of actually issuing titles at the time (jeep, maybe?) thought it was a good, funny reference to my username, and I was a dumb teenager so I didn't really care if I had done anything worthwhile to deserve my title. obviously I like the idea of having a custom title, but I'd rather get one that's actually based on my contributions to the site rather than just a reference that I did nothing to earn.

I apologize for not seeing this sooner! Sure thing. I'll remove it once I make this post. (Though it seems a title that grew iconic all on its own . . . )

Mr. Personality, though I think I like zakk's original nomination the best. It feels the right level of revelatory. Adding quotations just beats it over the head, to me. The lowercase is OK, but I think the original slightly edges it out for me. Whatever Psyche and the crowd want, I suppose. 48 hours!

won't be happening. It really reduces those two to one facet when hiplop and SummerInWonderland are such multifaceted members of the community. And though I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, what several have said is correct: it's not permanent, and if heaven forbid it does go sour, it's like a poorly-choiced tattoo.
