If I get quick lynched tomorow despite a strong flavor claim and a n1 shot light years outside my range then w/e. If not (or if I die tonight) I want to know who here has a meta of good shots as mafia. B/c that was a BAD shot. And I wanna know who might have signed off on that.

Depends how it works, but presuming wolves see the full flip privately, while town sees nothing...

1) easy fake role claim
2) easy fake flavor claim
3) if they hit the vig, VERY easy "1 shot vig" fake claim

Like, I actually disagree w heartless that it's town sided. By site standards it's I think scum sided unless flavor is a balancing factor I guess (though even there janitor can probably screw w it). It's only town sided b/c of a bad shot. Janitor ing Beeboy = totally different game.

I don't think scum used the janitor n1? The bodyguard flipped. If they shot heartless n1 there is no point in janitoring an innocent child.

I think they just decided to shoot heartless and didn't think about the use of janitor (or maybe BG use means non janitor'd death?). Janitor + IC is like a huge red light of "don't shoot there you fools!"

The game is designed for them NOT to shoot the revealed ic (though an unrevealed ic obv still possible). Janitor + tracker = a lot of scum power. They just totally bungled it.

The vig shots were fine other than missing though. But scum shot n1 was really terrible.

Idk any of you particularly well. "Prove you tend to take good scum shots" is an interesting meta challenge I think.

I'll look at that later dwlee. On my end if I'm scum I janitor Beeboy without looking back and ram it through scum chat if they disagree. MAYBE I think about something weird/random like third wheels gork or wisdom. But I never ever let the janitor have the gun going for the revealed ic. Never ever ever. I'd take the shot myself if they demanded a heartless death, and even then I'd yell at them that it's an obvious doc save.

I mean that's assuming scum #3 is a goon of course. If three wolf prs against a town PR set that really only works if vig hits or wolves let themselves get trapped, that's a pretty scum-sided setup.

PS Sorry for being an asshold about the N1 kill (though it was mechanically pretty sub-optimal) but I had to make it super obvious that I wouldn't have made that kill or I might have lost the town the game by getting vigged on the night given a kuroi town flip.

PPS FWIW, Robb Stark was the good fake claim. Catelyn and the other guys were the obviously sketchy fake claims.

FWIW, I'd say:

Day chat + BP + 2-shot janitor (w private flips to the wolves) + tracker
vs
VT's + odd night vig + watcher + BG + IC

is pretty decently scum-sided by site standards, I think. Janitor with private flips is pretty OP both for flavor claims and for possible role fake-claiming. Town got REALLY lucky catching the janitor red-handed on N1. Great call by Third Wheels there.

The only way that happens is if they shoot the IC. And having a janitor on hand is like a screaming signal not to shoot the IC. Especially given beeboy's "I can be town confirmed" bit. Totally different game if BBT janitor-shoots beeboy N1. Would have been super hard mode for town from that point on I think.

ggwp all. glad my losing streak ends at one. After the utter soul-crushing open 642, this was, while somewhat stressful, a game that was a nice mix of challenging and rewarding. Will happily play again with any of you folks

I don't know how to read kuroi. There are players I think I can read, I just don't have a feel for him. Scum read him as town in open 644, town read him as wolf here.

PS FWIW, this was one of my least obv!towniest town games I've played, so I think the suspicion on me was fair and deserved. Glad I'm still unlynchable as town though

I think I just needed to read it more closely to realize it was probably fake. "If it's real it's town" and "it is in fact real and therefore town" aren't the same thing.

Also as town I'm now 2-0 being kinda lazy in anti games and 1-7 almost always working my ass off in other games. I really feel like I'm learning an important lesson here

Without knowing your hydra partners all that well I couldn't say, but I've thought quite well of you in our games together. I still think it's hilarious that the harder I try, the worse I do, and games where I kinda coast things end up going fine for the most part. I think some of it is the reverse order, i.e. in games going badly I end up trying harder but idk. Still really weird I think.

Although I guess I probably really wasn't coasting THAT much in this game, just more so than my usual town meta. I tend to coast like crazy as wolf though (I've tried power wolfing. It has... not gone well in the past ). Won a newbie game as sub posting 31 times in two game days once. Posted more in scum chat on N2 than I did the game thread (before hammer anyway).

@hip: I'd disagree. Swingy to some extent, but there are four town PR's, and watcher is the only really strong one (odd night vig, BG are both nerfed versions of full vig and doc, and IC isn't THAT good a power IMO). And that compares to full day chat and three outright wolf PR's, including a counter to vig (BP), a nice fake-claim PR (tracker), and a WIFOM machine (janitor).

If janitor executes you N1, then the game turns into crazy hard mode for town. And that's mechanically just as likely as synching up the watcher with the actual NK target. And the BG if janitored => easy fake doc claim. Just a lot of options for the wolves if they janitor a town PR along the way I think.

One caveat is flavor does help town even things out a bit, but if/when you get people janitored, flavor claims become useless since the wolves could simply have swept up someone good to claim as.

You think more than cop? I figured that cop would be >EV (barring godfathers) because you can just dump your goon onto a NK and if he dies he dies, while a cop can randomly nab your PR or best wolf player.

I was an odd night jailkeeper once! I successfully jailed town PR's twice and ate a bullet for my trouble lol (but won! ). I don't think I've been an active PR (was mason once) otherwise outside of turbos though. Then again 2 PR's in 10 town games is reasonably close to average I think.

I think this is my first towngame where I was completely useless.

I would strongly disagree. You and anti scared the wolves enough to draw a mechanically sub optimal shot, and that turned the game around sharply.

That said, I'd suggest not quick claiming ic in the future. Seeing who is willing to push or suck up to you and why before outing is I think potentially useful as an ic.
