GAME RULES

SPECIAL MECHANICS:

"OKAY, I'M READY FOR THIS EPISODE TO END" -- EPISODE FORMAT, EVENTS, AND FLAVOR MECHANICS

Spoiler:

The day phase will be referred to as the 'Exposition' phase.
The night phase will be referred to as the 'Climax' phase.
Each pair of Exposition and Climax phases are referred to as an 'Episode'.
Each fourth Episode is a special episode called a 'Season Finale'.

Each role will have access to unique, flavor-heavy 'Episode Events' that they can anonymously trigger in order to influence the Exposition of any given episode. Notably, each scum role will have a town-flavored event that they can trigger.
Triggering an Episode Event does not count as your submitted Night Action.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, every Episode Event is a single-shot action that will be refunded if it does not resolve.
The Scum team will have factional Episode Events that will flavor and influence the Climax of each episode.
Episode Events will be denoted on rolecards with the following information;
-You will be told when you can activate your event or if it has a delayed activation.
-You will be told the priority of your event. In the instance that multiple Episode Events are triggered, only the highest priority Event happens.
--That said, some events will have a 'zero' priority, meaning they can always be triggered and will always take place and do not keep other Events from happening.
-You will be told the requirements for your event to be triggered.

Season Finales will allow for bigger, more influential events.
Nearly every role and mechanic of the game is more powerful during a Season Finale.

As a final note, all scum have guaranteed safe-claims and roles that fit the flavor of these fake-claims. Do not try to flavor-game this setup.
Scum all have had their flavor crafted before I crafted any of the town roles--I have built this setup around scum having effective, believable safe-claims.
Flavor-claims are not anywhere near the sort of town-clear that you might expect from other games.
Furthermore, I have given scum measures to punish players who are attempting to flavor-game the setup. Claim flavor at your own risk.
We are here to play mafia rendered under the flavor of Steven Universe--I will have no pity for anyone who takes the flavor as a means to attempt to outguess the moderator.

"I AM THEIR FURY, I AM THEIR PATIENCE; I AM A CONVERSATION" -- ALLIANCE MECHANICS

Spoiler:

During each Climax phase, a player may submit (to the mod) the name of any one other player that they wish to form an Alliance with.
If two players pick each other in this fashion, they begin the next Episode in an Alliance.
Alliances grant an Exposition-chat only neighborhood between all members of the Alliance.
Furthermore, many roles will also gain unique abilities due to being in an Alliance.
If you ever end up in a different alliance, your previous one will end.
If your allied partner is killed or lynched, you will still retain the benefits of being in an Alliance for the remainder of the Episode.

During a Season Finale, Allied players can chat in their neighborhoods during the Climax phase.
During a Season Finale, players may submit an extra player to be allied with, allowing for three-player Alliances.

Allying with other players will always resolve independent of all other abilities.
Unless otherwise stated, no ability will normally interact with each player's ability to Ally.
There are mechanics in this game which directly influence Alliances, including abilities that may allow a player to access Alliance PTs they are not a part of.

"THE ABYSS IS NO SUNDAY SWAN RIDE" -- STRESS MECHANICS

Throughout the entirety of the game, a 'Stress Meter' will be posted and updated with each votecount.
The Stress Meter can fluctuate between 'Slice of Life' and 'Tragic Destiny.'
The Stress Meter begins the game in the direct middle of each of these categories. It can progress to +4 or -4 Stress.
At +4 Stress, or 'Tragic Destiny,' all players require one extra vote to lynch (except in LYLO) and all protective actions always succeed--they can not be redirected and even enhanced priority kills that normally ignore protection will fail on protected players.
At -4 Stress, or 'Slice of Life,' all town players will require one less vote to lynch (except in LYLO) and the scum factional kill will always succeed--it can not be redirected and effects that would cause it to fail for any reason will not.
Many abilities will require the Stress meter to be at or above a certain mark in order to be used.

If a non-scum player dies, the stress meter moves 1 rank towards 'Tragic Destiny.'
If a scum player dies, the stress meter moves 2 ranks towards 'Slice of Life.'

Generally, anti-town Episode Events and outcomes will move the stress meter towards 'Tragic Destiny.'
Pro-town Episode Events and outcomes will move the stress meter towards 'Slice of Life'.
This works to balance the swing of the setup, but also reflects the atmospheric ebb and flow of the show.

GENERAL RULES:

This game will start with a 'prequel' phase--during this time, all players will be given access to their PTs and some roles may even have specific abilities that can be used. Any players with access to a PT can chat during this phase.
During this prequel phase, players may chat, ask public or private questions about the setup, and submit alliance targets and Episode Events for the first Episode.
The 'prequel' phase will last 48 hours.
As a general rule you should aim for one post every 24 hours, minimum, to keep the game moving.
If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – please don't leave us hanging!
Prods of missing players will be issued after 48 hours of no activity. Also, players may request a prod on another player after 24 hours. Any player may be replaced if they fail to post in-thread within 24 hours of being prodded by me. If the game turns to night before you can respond to your prod, PM me letting me know you still want to play.
No prods will be issued during Night.
A player who is eligible for a third prod is subject to possible replacement without further notice.
You may not quote private Moderator-supplied information (either real or fabricated) of any kind. Paraphrasing (for role claims, etc.) is acceptable.
You may not quote private topic or other out-of-game discussion (such as Hydra chats) in the public game thread, regardless of if the quotes are real or fabricated. Paraphrasing is acceptable.
You can always copy and paste the full content of your own posts (outside of moderator communication) so long as it does not contain any links to where it came from or any timestamps.
You may only ever paraphrase posts made in private topics by other players and this is also subject to the same link/timestamp restriction.
There is to be NO personal communication outside of the forum postings and approved QTs. If someone contacts you outside the game you should report it to me immediately.

DURING THE DAY (EXPOSITION):

Each Day will have a two-week deadline. Extensions will be given only in extreme circumstances, but always feel free to ask.
Day Actions resolve as soon as I am capable of resolving them.
If you submit a day action publicly or privately but you do not want the action to take effect, you must PM me about the action cancellation as soon as you submit the action. If another player makes a post between when you submit the action and when you PM me about cancellation, I will not be able to cancel your day action.
If you have a Day Action that you may submit privately, I will allow you to 'queue' the action to resolve on a trigger such as "When the Day begins" or "If I ever am voted for."
If multiple Day Actions are queued to be resolved on the same trigger, I will resolve them according to NAR rules.
If you do not know when your action resolves in NAR, feel free to ask me.
A simple majority of votes relative to the number of living players is required for a Lynch to occur (simple majority = ½ # of living players +1, rounded down).
If the deadline runs out before a majority lynch is agreed on, the day will end in a no-lynch.
Players may vote for a No-Lynch via voting for 'No Lynch'.
Once a player has reached a simple majority of votes no further unvoting will change their fate.
Once a player is lynched the game enters twilight until I post a death scene; all players may continue to post.
Once you are dead (either via lynch or night kill) you may no longer post except for a brief “Bah!”-type post that contains NO game related information.
Votes should be bolded or tagged or they may not be counted (e.g. VOTE: Player or VOTE: Player).
Vote revocations should be bolded or tagged or they may not be counted (e.g. VOTE: UNVOTE: Player or Unvote). Unvotes are not necessary before changing votes.
Votes/Unvotes must be placed on a line all by themselves to make them easier for everyone to see.
Votes/Unvotes that reasonably follow the guidelines specified above, and are unambiguous with respect to player nicknames/abbreviations, will count.
If you cast a Vote, doing so will remove all previous votes indicated with your name before the new vote is cast--in this way, a player who has a role-related ability to double vote will essentially 'unvote' before casting their new vote, rather than having a lingering double vote.
Your normal vote is a 'voting action' that is only affected by other actions that specifically interact with your vote.
In the case of specific votes (such as an ability that may put a vote called [Extra Vote] on a player), you must use specific tags to submit these votes AND to remove them if you want to unvote with just that [Extra Vote].
If you unvote, you will remove all votes that are clearly controlled by you in the votecount. Unvoting will not remove votes that can not be removed or votes that can only be submitted privately.
Vote counts will be edited into the first post of each page (so long as I can keep up, yo). Other announcements and requested vote counts will receive their own post.

DURING THE NIGHT (CLIMAX):

Night will have a 72-hour deadline. Extensions will not be given, unless a player has to be replaced during the Night.
If you have a role with a Night action, your choices are due to me by the posted deadline. If I do not receive your choice via PM by the posted deadline you will forfeit your actions.
If you expect not to be here to submit your night action during the night, you may send one in in advance.
I resolve Night Actions according to Natural Action Resolution as outlined by the Mafiascum Wiki.
If you do not know when your action resolves in NAR, feel free to ask me.
Roles with Night actions will not be able to submit an action on Night 0 (i.e. during the confirmation stage).

I may make mistakes - please point out any mistakes gently. Mistakes will be corrected where possible, but sometimes mistakes are made that cannot be reversed. These will stand as final to be commiserated over after the game.
Rules violations will be dealt with according to their severity, up to and including a Modkill, as the Mod sees fit. Modkills may be accompanied by a change to day/night and the offender’s role will be changed to Neutral Survivor, which guarantees a loss.
- Just know, it's all about intention. If you genuinely mess up, I'll try to cut you some slack. If I determine you're trying to compromise the integrity of the game though, you won't be too happy with the punishment.
Any situation not explicitly covered above is subject to my discretion and will be handled as I see fit on a case-by-case basis.

In addition to the standard benefits of an Alliance, you will also be counted as 'removed from the game' for all purposes other than taking night actions and posting within your Alliance Neighborhood. EVENT: Save it for your blog... EPISODE EVENT: Exposition Only--Activate this ability at any time during the Exposition Phase. PRIORITY: 0 (This Episode Event will always happen when you activate it) REQUIREMENTS: You may only activate this ability at -2, -1, 0, +1, +2, or +3 Stress. You must be in an Alliance. You may immediately end the Alliance that you are in, resulting in your Ally losing all benefits of the Alliance. THE GAME BEGAN WITH A PREQUEL PHASE

During this time, anyone with 'pre-game' or 'prequel' powers may submit them to me.
Any Events that can be activated for Episode 1 can be sent to me as well.
You will also be sending your Alliance choices for Episode 1 to me as well.
During this phase, all players may chat in the public thread and in any PTs they may have.
During this phase, there will be no vote-count or usage of abilities that can't specifically be used during this phase.
Use this time to form Alliances and ask me any questions you may have about the game.

The ruins of the Homeworld Gem's spaceship littered the beach, scarring the usually serene sands with alien metals. It was clear that Homeworld had no sentiments for Earth. With a sigh, Steven surveyed the wreckage, wondering when things had escalated so far. It seemed like just the other day, life was so simple; Train with the Crystal Gems and go on missions to beat monsters. Before he could ruminate on it for long, his father, Greg, found him and pulled him into a tight hug.

"Steven! Oh! Thank goodness you're okay! I saw the spaceship start to leave and then it crashed so I came back and--your eye! But you're okay! I guess those jerks were no match for the Crystal Gems!"

Steven blinked, not even realizing his eye had been bruised in the conflict. He shook his head, "No way, they were super strong!"

Greg looked exasperated and confused, "But you were able to beat them back?"

To this, Steven explained, "No. They totally stomped us! This warrior, Jasper, was super beefy and knocked me unconscious. Then they abducted me onto the ship because they wanted to take me away forever. And then we crashed the ship and I almost died! They think I'm Mom? I don't know."

"A-are more Homeworld Gems gonna come after you?"

"I... don't know?"

Greg voiced his support and worries, finding it difficult to relax, although the other Crystal Gems were able to finally placate his concerns. Steven found himself sitting among the wreckage, mulling over everything that had happened. Was all of his training for this, or were there even more threats over the horizon? How would Homeworld respond when they found out? Furthermore--Peridot was still out there somewhere, and there were other dangers looming in the shadows for sure. For a moment, Steven just took it all in, preparing himself for the trials that were sure to come.

"Now Connie. Please don't freak out. But a giant laser hand tried to steal me into space. But it didn't, it didn't. I'm back and everything is fine now. Um, Connie. Funny story. As it turns out, there's a lot more Gems out there than we thought. And I think they wanna... kill me? Agh! Hey Connie that... that message I left you was— was just a dream. Hehehe, eeh, she's too smart for that."

Swallowing the lump in his throat, Steven resolved that the only way he would be able to approach the trials to come would be to strengthen the bonds that he had made so far. While the other Crystal Gems had begun to rely on him more and more, Steven worried that he was growing too distant from all of his other friends in Beach City. Worry gripped at Steven as he considered how dangerous this all may be for them. Sure, he could protect himself, but he couldn't put all of Beach City in a bubble.

In order to protect his friends, Steven made sure to tell every one of them about what they could do to stay safe. He ran all over Beach City, making sure people had not been affected by the previous battle and that they would be able to survive the next. Some friends trained alongside Steven, working out and forming secret teams. Some, however, did not take his warnings too seriously. The Crystal Gems had always protected this Earth. Whatever happens is outside of humanity's hands. Furthermore, many didn't even think much of the whole ordeal. Sure, a lot of things had happened and no one could deny that the strange women Steven lived with seemed out of place, but these folks did as they always do--ignore it and go about their everyday lives.

Steven was most excited to reunite with his friend Connie--he was worried about protecting her the most, but she assured him that she wanted to be a part of his adventures. Instead of worrying, Connie began training with Pearl in order to become a human capable of fending off the threats from Homeworld.

In the meantime, Steven also managed to regain his healing powers! He immediately tried to heal a corrupted gem that he was once friends with, but the effects of this healing were fleeting. Despite that, the creature was able to reaffirm its friendship with Steven and find peace, giving Steven hope that one day, he may be able to help all of the damaged and corrupted gems.

In spite of the danger that Beach City may face, its residents were carrying on as if it were any other day. In fact, several of the kids around town headed out for a joy ride, enjoying the countryside and making the most of their time together. If anything, the fallout from the battle with the Homeworld Gems had brought people together. Seeing all this brought Steven joy--he was worried that dark times were ahead and that things had changed for the worse. The positivity and unity of Beach City's residents reminded him what he was fighting for, as well as where his heart should be.

An Event called 'Monster Reunion' has occurred, causing the following public effects:

To be clear:
In general, an Event that is beneficial to town will lower the Stress.
In general, an Event that is bad for town will increase the Stress.
Negative (or lower) Stress is reflective of town doing well, but it also tends to enable anti-town abilities and events.

...of course, that's when things took a turn for the worse. A loud noise sounded in the distance, followed by smoke towering up from the horizon. Steven rushed to the scene, only to find that Jenny's pizza delivery car lost a wheel and had skidded off the road and into a tree. Black smoke was billowing up from the hood of the vehicle. As Steven helped her out and made sure she was safe, he openly wondered, "Wait, I thought you left on a fun trip with your friends? I heard a loud noise and saw the smoke and--"

Jenny held herself in her arms, shuddering, "Pfft? Those guys? My car didn't make the loud noise, Steven--that was something else. We got in an argument about it and that's when everything went all wrong." The engine of the car grumbled, as if in protest, a small fire lifting from it, "What am I gonna do about the car, Steven!?"

With a slight panic, Steven enclosed the vehicle in a bubble, causing it to lift up into the air. He tapped it, making the car disappear. Jenny's jaw nearly dropped, but before she could protest, Steven spoke up. "Don't worry--the car should be safe back at my house. I'll get my dad and Pearl to look at it. They're good with machines! At least, they managed to fix Dad's van after all the damage it went through when Lapis left. Hm. Wonder how she's doing..."

With a sigh, Jenny slumped down against the nearby tree that her pizza delivery car had been lodged in just moments ago. "Well, do you want to help me find out where everyone else went, or--"

Before she could finish her sentence, a bright pattern illuminated the night sky. Steven and Jenny rushed to its origins through tall fields, only to find a clearing, where both Jenny's friends and the Crystal Gems were standing, all circling a large, metal pod that was lodged into the Earth. Garnet had just tapped a bubble out of existence before looking over to Steven. "You're late."

Steven huffed, "Wait, what is all this? Is that--Peridot's escape pod?! Did you just bubble her?"

Pearl shook her head and sighed, seeming a bit defeated. "No, unless she's been shapeshifting. It seems like her pod is empty, but these Earth children were very close to doing even more harm with their meddling!"

To this, Steven stood up for his friends from Beach City. "Pearl! This is their home, too. They have a right to be interested in what is going on and--and to have fun, too!" The others cheered Steven on and Pearl relented, smiling softly.

"That's right, Steven. Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the responsibility of protecting it all. Let's figure out how to turn off this beacon and go home."

Steven sheepishly chuckled, "Also... I kinda promised we'd fix Jenny's car, ehehe."

Pearl sighed, "Oh, Steven..."

As the Crystal Gems fiddled with Peridot's escape pod, Steven wondered what the light in the sky meant. Would more Homeworld Gems be coming soon? And what had Garnet bubbled just earlier? As he headed back to Beach City and helped Jenny and her friends make amends, Steven couldn't help but feel as though there was more danger right around every bend.

By the next morning, Pearl had Peridot's escape pod wired up to several devices--numerous screens blinked back at Steven with information that he was lost on him. He approached Pearl, who had been diligently working through the night, "So, what's all this for? You making me a cool robot?"

Pearl scoffed, shaking her head, "Oh, no, Steven, that would be much too dangerous. I'm trying to discover where Peridot is--or, at least, what her plans were for this planet. There are several references to some sort of 'Cluster', but I can not extract exactly what it is. Confounding. Perhaps, if I..."

As Pearl rambled on with her explanations, Steven slowly wandered back to the Temple, satisfied enough with what she had already said. He was more interested in who--or what--had been bubbled the other night. As he turned to take a step towards the door, he bumped into Garnet, who looked down at him with an expectant smile. Plainly, she remarked, "You want to see the Ruby that I bubbled, don't you?"

Steven did a double-take, "You bubbled another Ruby? Wait--there are other Rubies? ...did I know that?

Garnet simply smiled at him and ruffled his hair, "Come on."

After opening the way to the inner sanctum of the Crystal Gem Temple, Garnet pulled down the bubble she had made the other night. Upon releasing the bubble, the gem inside formed its body of light and took the shape of a Ruby. It was not much taller than Steven, its gem set square in its chest. The Ruby glared at Garnet and Steven from behind her visor before immediately moving to attack Steven. As he dodged away, Garnet simply picked the Ruby up and held her firmly, stating, "You will not harm anyone else on this planet."

The Ruby scoffed, "I don't need to! I need to get out of here with Jasper before this whole planet is dust!"

The news was shocking to Steven, who gasped, "You know Jasper?"

The Ruby proudly smiled, "Of course I do--one of the finest quartz that's ever done battle. And you're infringing on my mission to retrieve her!"

Garnet formed her gauntlet in one hand as the Ruby struggled. As she made a fist, Steven protested, "Garnet--no! We still need to ask her more about Jasper and, and--the Cluster!"

Ruby managed to break free from Garnet's grasp and backed into a corner of the room, fists held up. "The Cluster's going to break out of this planet soon enough--you're all doomed! And you're not going to take me with you!!"

As Ruby charged at Steven, the light of her gem indicating that she was forming a weapon, Garnet immediately smashed her with a fist. Garnet picked up and bubbled her gem, sighing. "That's all we're going to get from her. I'm sorry you couldn't do more, Steven."

Steven sighed, "It's okay, Garnet. We need to investigate whatever the Cluster is. Let's go see if Pearl knows anything--"

Garnet was already headed for the door, calling back, "Pearl is in trouble. Come on, Steven!"

The pair rushed back to the temple entrance to find Amethyst and Pearl doing battle with some sort of hulking creature. Various gem shards stuck out of its chest, but it did not have anything resembling a face--just malformed limbs and body mass. Amethyst's whip was already tied around it, but it threw both her and Pearl across the room with ease. Pearl squealed, "Help us subdue this beast!"

With all four Crystal Gems teaming up, the creature was no match for their combat prowess. Steven deftly deflected its blows with his shield, giving Garnet and Pearl enough time to close distance and destroy it, causing it to lose its mass and drop to the floor as the various crystal shards that were embedded in it. As Pearl bubbled them, Garnet grimaced, "Forced fusion--who could do such a thing?"

To this, Pearl responded, "I believe that this creature has to do with the Cluster--the data that I retrieved indicated that the Cluster is a forced fusion like this on a much bigger scale, but something that large couldn't possibly be on Earth..."

Steven spoke up, the epiphany causing him to shiver at its implications, "It isn't on Earth--it's inside of it. Ruby said that it was going to destroy the planet--if it's like the guy we just beat, then when it forms, it's going to break out of the planet like hatching from an egg! We have to do something!"

Just as Steven said this, a scream could be heard in the distance. Similar creatures were attacking citizens of Beach City. The Gems sprung into action, saving who they could, defeating and bubbling monsters and injured victims as they went. As they fought back the creatures, they soon began to realize that these monsters seemed to be coming from a single location from out of town--the old Kindergarten, where Amethyst was made. The Crystal Gems made their way there with haste, making sure to stay vigilant should they sight any more crystal-shard monsters along the way.

During the Climax Phase, the Scum Factional Event, "Message Received" was triggered and resolved.
Due to this Event, the following has publicly occurred:
It is now public knowledge that The Cluster may awaken and destroy Earth.
From this point onward, players may forego taking Climax actions to add a point to a cumulative, hidden score.
You must have an activated ability to choose not to use in order for it to count as points towards this effect.
If both Players in an Alliance forego their Climax actions, they add 3 points to this score.
If the score does not reach a high enough point by the upcoming Season Finale, there will be several deaths.
4 Stress has been added, moving the Stress Meter towards 'Tragic Destiny.'

There is no Event currently happening during the Exposition of Episode 2.
Firebringer has been removed from the game as a part of an effect. This will not cause the stress to change.

This is information that you are not intended to know.
Confirming or denying any information in regards to these questions would be giving you too much.
This 'removed from game' effect is similar to a treestump in that the player is no longer a legal target or able to vote, but, in addition, they may not post.

@Varsoon: can slots with only passive abilities forgo their actions? If so, will this have an effect on their passive at all? Basically, if someone with an active ability is allied to someone without an active ability, is the person with the active ability capping their contribution to 1 point?

Players need to forego an activated Climax ability.
Have this example:
Varsoon is a Cop.
MetalSonic is Bulletproof.
Cheetory6 is a Doctor.

MetalSonic can not forego being bulletproof to earn points for this Event, because his Bulletproof is passive.
If either of Varsoon or Cheetory6 decide to forego using their Cop or Doctor shots, they will earn a single point towards the Event.
If Varsoon and Cheetory6 are allied and both decide to forego using their abilities, they will earn a total of 3 points rather than just 2.

The highest priority is a priority 0 Event, followed by 1, then 2, then 3, etc.
If a priority 1 and 2 event are triggered at the same time, only the priority 1 event resolves.

As a note, for the 'Message Received' Event:
You must forego taking ALL of your possible Climax actions during the Climax Phase to earn points.
Events that meet their requirements to be triggered may be foregone to earn points.
If your role does not have any activated Climax actions or an Event that meets its requirements, you can not contribute.
Foregoing using Events or Actions to earn points DOES NOT use up limited shots or the Event.

Varsoon, can you confirm no mod error in event triggers has occurred?

Since I've received more than a few messages about Events, I'll go into tedious detail about how they work.
(Apologies, I tend to make the mistake of thinking that because I understand something, it is understandable by others. )

Spoiler: Triggering, Activation, and Submission: I should've standardized my rhetoric

You submit an Event when the Event tells you that you need to.
When writing the Events, I used the world 'Triggered' to mean 'Submitted'.
However, in some places, I erroneously have used 'Triggered' to also mean 'Resolved'.
On most of the roles, I use the wording 'Activated' to mean 'Submitted'.
If you are unsure of when you can use your Events, just PM me.
However, there is a significant distinction among ALL role-PMs and Factional Events that should work:
On the line 'EPISODE EVENT:' -- The words 'Triggered' and 'Activated' mean 'Submitted'. So, for instance;
EPISODE EVENT: Exposition Only--Trigger during the Climax Phase.
This means you SUBMIT the Event during the Climax Phase and it RESOLVES during the following Exposition Phase.

If an Event says that it 'can only be triggered' by a certain Episode, that ALWAYS means it can only be RESOLVED by that Episode.
So, for instance, the line 'This Event can not be triggered before Episode 3' means that you can not RESOLVE the Event during Episodes 1 and 2,
but you could still SUBMIT the Event during the Climax of Episode 2, causing it to RESOLVE on Episode 3, if it were an Exposition Event.

Spoiler: Stress and Event Requirements

There seems to be a major misconception about how Stress works in regards to Events.
You only need to hit the REQUIREMENTS for an Event when SUBMITTING an Event.
If an Event has a STRESS requirement, you need only meet that Requirement to SUBMIT your Event.
Your Event may still RESOLVE no matter what changes happen between submission and resolution.
For instance, let's say I have and Event that requires +2 Stress or Higher.
So long as I satisfy that requirement, I can SUBMIT the Event.
Even if I do not meet the Stress Requirement when the Event checks to RESOLVE, it will still RESOLVE.

Spoiler: Priority and you

If an Event has Priority 0, it means that no other Event's Priority can cause it not to Resolve.
Furthermore, any number of Priority 0 Events can happen at the same time as any other Events.
Normally, though, there can only be a singular Event during each Phase of the game.
Events have a Priority--Higher Priority Events will always happen instead of lower Priority Events when both are submitted.
If your Event does not happen because another Event had higher priority, your Event does not count as being used up and may be resubmitted later.
The highest Priority is 1, followed by 2, then 3, and so on.
If multiple Events of the same priority are submitted, I have my own system for determining which Event resolves and which does not.

Spoiler: Are Events Actions??

Submitting an Event does not count against your normal restrictions for submitting Actions.
Furthermore, any sort of ability that interacts with Actions does NOT interact with Events unless specified.
An Event does count as a role-based, activated ability, however.

...there was nothing to be found at the barren wasteland known as the 'Kindergarten'. In fact, it was notably desolate, as if things had been taken from the place. Amethyst and Pearl cautiously peeked around every corner and into many of the deep holes in the canyon's walls, expecting to find more creatures lurking at any given turn. Once it was clear that the place was vacant, the group collected and openly wondered what was going on.

Sternly, Garnet postured, "There should have been more creatures here. It is possible that Homeworld is involved." She paused for a second, then patted Steven on the head. "Don't worry, your friend will be okay."

Steven blinked and did a double take, about to question what Garnet meant when he noticed a familiar figure skulking about in the shadows. As Steven rushed over, he realized that the eavesdropper as Lars, Beach City's lanky, lazy, generally annoying donut-shop employee. Lars seemed about as surprised as Steven, the pair of them exclaiming, "What are you doing here?!" upon recognizing each other.

Lars was exasperated. "Me!? I'm just trying to get away from all those--those things tearing up Beach City! I figured you'd be at the heart of this, Steven Universe. You're always there when something messed up or bad is happening--you and those Crystal Witches!"

Clearly upset, Steven returned Lars' frustration with some of his own, causing Lars to shrink as he stepped forward and stood up for himself, "That's because we're protecting the planet--even jerks like you! You don't know anything about what we do!" As he took another step, he realized that Lars might actually be afraid of him. Steven hesitated, "You... you should just go back to Beach City." He turned and started back towards the Crystal Gems. "It's safer there."

After the monsters had trashed Beach City, Steven made sure to put himself and the Gems to work in the effort to clean up and help the citizens. Despite the disaster, people seemed more unified than before. Even Onion, a well-known trouble-maker and mischievous kid, pitched in. Steven followed Onion around, sure that there was some angle that Onion had. However, after watching him pitch in to the relief effort, Steven smiled to himself, remarking, "Aww, Onion just wants to help out. Now I feel bad for second-guessing him."

There was another reason that all the residents of Beach City were coming together--the annual Beach-a-Palooza was happening today! Mr. Smiley had the stage set up and ready to go, and everyone was wondering who would perform and win the grand prize. Steven worked with Mr. Smiley to get everyone involved, although a few people seemed to have gone missing some time between the attack and now. Steven did his best to put these worries at the back of his mind, telling himself that everyone would show up for Beach-A-Palooza. If they didn't then, either as performers or in the crowd, then he would concern people with a search party then.

At the beggining of Episode 3, the Event "You... Gonna put on a movie? That'd be nice..." has resolved.
Due to this Event, the following has publicly occurred:
Titus has been confirmed as a member of the

Earth

(town) faction.
Stress has been reduced to 0 (Neutral).

At the beggining of Episode 3, the Event "Beach-A-Palooza" has resolved and is now taking place.
Due to this Event, the following has publicly occured:
For 48 hours, the game thread will be locked due to this Event taking place.
During this time, all players may submit any target player to star in the 'Beach-a-Palooza' event.
Every time a player is picked by another player, it counts as one point towards the picked player's score.
Every time a player picks a player in an alliance with them, it counts as two points towards the picked player's score.
If a player picks themselves, it counts as three points towards their score.
Scum picks are only worth .5, 1, and 1.5 points, respectively.
If there are any draws, I will break the tie towards the player with more words in their role PM.
It will be revealed how many points each of the top 3 point-winners have earned.
The winning player will have their flavor revealed publicly to the game.
Scum players will have their fake-claim flavor revealed publicly.
The winning player will be able to privately select one of three fabulous prizes:
1. One-shot kill immunity, consumed when next targeted by a kill.
2. One-shot Climax-phase investigate a target to see if they are capable of killing a player.
3. One-shot Climax-phase mass-redirect, which causes all other abilities to redirect to the user.


Klingoncelt has been killed. However, due to an effect, their role's information has not been revealed yet.
Furthermore, due to this, the stress will not change at this time due to their death.

I have decided to implement a new deadline for the Climax (Night) phase.
From here on out, you will have 48 hours to submit actions and alliance targets.
However, I will not begin the next Episode until at least 12 hours after that point.
The reasons for this are threefold:
1. I often need to take upwards of three or four hours to resolve all actions, flavor, etc.
2. I often receive multiple actions right before the deadline, which can lead to delays.
3. I can shift the time after the action deadline to best suit hours in which I am awake and not at work.

So, for instance, let's say that the Exposition (Day) Phase ends with a lynch at 4 AM on Monday.
You would have 48 hours to submit actions, making the action submission deadline 4 AM on Wednesday.
However, since I won't be awake at 4 AM, I can adjust the time for the flips to happen at 4 PM on Wednesday instead.
From here on out, the deadline format will be reflected as;
ACTION SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Countdown
NEXT EPISODE BEGINS IN: Countdown

Players with Climax (Night) Chat in their PTs will be able to post until the next episode begins.

If several players have an issue with this new system, then I will not implement it during this game. However, I find it increasingly difficult to stick to deadlines when I have so many actions to resolve, last-minute actions coming in, and the deadlines fall on times that I literally can not be at the computer.

Beach-A-Palooza had a huge turnout! Jamie put on a one-man show, Steven and his dad played a few songs, and even Ronaldo showed up with some weird puppet show about rock people. The biggest surprise was from a creature that seemed to wander onto the stage all on its own!! It was probably Steven's idea, but when the Centipeetle came on stage juggling with some arms, playing musical instruments with others, and even wearing puppets on some of its limbs, everyone had to agree that it had one-upped them all. It was a strange turn of events, but everyone left Beach-A-Palooza feeling far more lighthearted than before.

Mastin2 has won Beach-A-Palooza with 7 points.
Mastin2's flavor is confirmed as Centipeetle. If Mastin2 is scum-aligned, this is their fake-claim flavor.
The runner-ups were Titus, with 6 points, and Not Chara, with 5 points.

One person hadn't shown up for the Beach-A-Palooza, however. Steven was hoping to see Amethyst somewhere, but when the entire event was over and she was nowhere to be found, he began to worry. When he told the other gems, Pearl looked ashamed and Garnet came out with the news, "Steven, Amethyst went back to investigate the Kindergarten. We didn't want to tell you and ruin Beach-A-Palooza for you. She's... been bubbled in the temple for awhile now."

Steven gasped, tears forming at his cheeks. "She's going to reform, right? She'll be back, right?"

Pearl looked away and Garnet shook her head, offering what condolences she could, "We don't know right now."

Wiping back his tears, Steven resolved to figure out what was behind the creatures that had attacked. He would have to be strong, not just for Amethyst, but also for the Crystal Gems and for all of Beach City and, if what Ruby said was true, all of Earth as well.

I was going to send this out with the Climax-Start PM, but you've gone and forced my hand!
You'll submit a primary and a secondary choice. You can, as always, submit both, one, or none.
You'll always ally with preference to your primary choice.
You'll only ally with the third member if both primary allies pick third member as their secondary choice and the third member has either as their primary.
The only exception is if there's a perfect loop.
Some Examples:
1. Cheetory picks Varsoon (primary).
Varsoon picks Cheetory (primary) and Skullduggery (secondary).
Skullduggery picks Cheetory (primary) and Varsoon (secondary).
Only Varsoon and Cheetory end up in an Alliance, since they were the primary pair. Skullduggery is left out because Cheetory did not pick Skullduggery as a secondary.

2. Varsoon picks MetalSonic (primary) and Andrius (secondary).
MetalSonic picks Andrius (primary) and Varsoon (secondary).
Andrius picks Varsoon (primary) and Metal Sonic (secondary).
All three will end up in the same Alliance, since they formed a 3-player loop.

In short, you can submit a primary and a secondary choice. I'll handle it on my end to get everyone where they need to be.

Steven stepped back into his home, making his usual checklist by talking to himself, "Hello, old shirts that Pearl hasn't folded." He stepped by the laundry and hopped over a large cable plugged into Peridot's old escape pod. "Hello, Peri's Pod." It was then that he noticed a small, triangular figure jutting out from the pod itself. Softly, he spoke up, "Hello... yellow triangle? What are you?"

The figure lifted itself up and whipped around, revealing herself to be a very surprised Peridot, clutching a small device in her hands. "You're not supposed to be here! The test subjects were supposed to distract you clods long enough for me to retrieve my--augh! Get out out of here!" Steven immediately closed the distance between them and was already prying Peridot's device from her hands, grumbling, "I don't know what you're doing but you need permission to come in here--give that back! You can't have it!"

Pulling away, Peridot sneered, "Nyeeh--you can't have it! This is my direct line to the Diamonds! A clod like you wouldn't understand! Just let it go, Rose!"

Steven stumbled back, taken aback by his mother's name. "Wait, how..." Peridot interrupted, "I read the dossier on the rebellion. You may take a different form, but you're just as dangerous to the diamonds as ever!" With that, Peridot threw the communication device onto the floor, cackling as the device filled with light. Slowly, the smile faded from Peridot's face. "Oh no. Oh-no! Ohno-ohno-oooooh noooo!!" Steven began to panic as well, calling back, "Wait, that's not what it was supposed to do? What's happening?!"

After a moment of terrified silence, Peridot piped up, "It's going to explode and shatter us both. We're doomed!" Before Peridot even finished her warning, Steven was already on top of the explosive device, protecting Peridot from the blast with his own body. As his shield formed, blinding light enveloped the room...

Outside, bright light shone through all the windows of Steven's home and a loud noise like a thunderclap rang out through the night. Garnet and Pearl rushed inside only to find Peridot crouched over Steven's badly injured body, a pale green bubble enveloping him. The gems drew their weapons, but Peridot did not have any fight in her. She bowed in submission, crying out, "I give up! The communicator Jasper turned out to be a remote detonator and Rose--er, Steven--saved me from it! My own diamond betrayed me and now I'm going to die on this rock and-and-and--we need to stop the Cluster!"

Pearl and Garnet slowly lowered their weapons and accepted Peridot's pleas, their concern turning to Steven. It seemed as though he would need to be taken care of at a human hospital. As Garnet cradled him in her arms and carried him off, Pearl gritted her teeth and bit back tears. "We're going to make a drill, Peridot. We're going to stop The Cluster." After a pause, she forced a smile, "...together."

The Scum Factional Event "Remote Detonator" has occurred and been resolved.
As a result, Yume has been killed. However, due to another effect in the game, Yume's role information will not be revealed at this point in time and the stress will not change as a result of this kill as of now.
This Event has caused the stress to increase by 1, towards Tragic Destiny.

Let me break down how it works:
The "Message Received" Event was resolved and ended as of Exposition 2's start.
It added a rule to the game itself that players may forego taking Climax actions to add to a hidden score.
This effect will be in play until otherwise noted. You will know when it comes to an end--I will make it very clear.
Whether or not the score is high enough as of now to prevent the deaths mentioned is not information that I can share.

No, I am only confirming that I will make it explicit knowledge should the ongoing "foregoing actions to add to the score" rule no longer be a part of the game. In this way, the "Remote Detonator" Event did not end this ongoing rule. You will bet told when this rule is no longer a part of the game, explicitly, if that time should ever arise. I can understand where the wording might seem to indicate that this rule ends as of the upcoming Season Finale, but that was never explicitly stated.

Expect that, as my first post in regard to "Message Received" indicated, there will be several deaths should a certain score not be reached by the upcoming Season Finale (Episode 4). Whether or not that is tied to this rule being removed or not is information that I can neither confirm nor deny as it may provide information that the public game thread should not have access to.

To simplify, think of it this way:
"Message Received" added a new rule to the game.
The new rule says you can forego actions/events to add to a score.
"Message Received" also says that this will be important for sure as of the upcoming season finale, in regards to deaths.
Those last two things exist independent of each other.

Seeming slightly peeved at the idea of being trapped by Peridot, Pearl sighed and relented, "Well, we wouldn't have fallen for any such thing. But if you think it could help, let's try it."

After some fiddling around inside of her escape pod, Peridot emerged with a surprised laugh, "Aha! There's already some clod trapped in there!"

Pearl gasped, "Are you sure it's a Homeworld entity and not just someone who got lost and wandered in?"

To that, Peridot just shrugged, "So what?"

"So what?! If an innocent sprung your little trap, we have to save them!"

Peridot shrunk from Pearl's fierce reply. "Well... we won't know until they escape the ship themselves, or..."

"Or what?"

She continued, worrying now about the consequences, "...or they aren't alive anymore."

The pair rushed to the old Homeworld Ship, hoping they could make it in time to ensure that they had trapped the right prey.

The Event "A Trap For Clods" has been activated.
This Event will be active until the start of the following Episode, Episode 4.
As a result of this Event, Skybird has been temporarily removed from the game until Episode 4 begins.

Meanwhile, Garnet was busy with many other things. The Crystal Gems had suffered yet another loss, and between the few conscious members they had left, Garnet was on the search for a new ally. She immediately confronted Steven's Lion, whom had aided them on adventures before.

"Lion. I know you aren't the only one. Show me what you are hiding."

From within Lion's mane, out crawled a being larger than even Garnet, with colorful hair and a sharp smile. At this result, even Garnet, usually stoic, was overjoyed. "Bismuth! I can't believe you made it!"

With a jovial laugh, Bismuth gave Garnet a slap on the back, "Good to see you in operation, too! Where's the rest of the troop? Pearl? Biggs? Snowflake? Don't tell me you mounted a one-gem rescue mission, haha."

To this, Garnet simply shook her head, seeming somewhat dispirited. "Only Pearl and I remain. Amethyst and even Rose's son are in critical conditions. I had visions of you, so I went looking."

Bismuth wiped tears from her eyes, sniffling at the news, "How long has it been? I... are we still fighting Homeworld?"

To this, Garnet simply nodded, "Over five thousand years. We won, but Homeworld is coming back, and they have plans to destroy this planet completely. I have an idea of where we might find some of their agents. Let's go."

With that, they headed off, weapons in hand, ready to fight Homeworld's invaders off of their home.

Upon reaching the dilapidated Homeworld Ship, Pearl and Peridot found its doors open. As she slashed away at the overgrowth, Pearl called out, "It's open!? What's that's mean? Did they get out?"

Peridot scoffed haughtily, stepping inside of the ship, "I said that they either escaped or got caught, although my trap was so genius, so..." She quickly perked up, pointing to one of the screens that still projected an image, "See! There!"

Pearl squinted at the archaic display, which illuminated the rusty interior halls of the ship. Sure enough, a gemstone was wedged inside of a trap room that had surely crushed its physical form and caused it to retreat to its gem state. They recovered the Ruby, Pearl bubbling it and sending it away to the Temple. Pearl mused, "Another Ruby? Homeworld must have sent a reconnaissance squad..." Her eyes shot open as she had an epiphany, "Oh no! I have to tell Garnet!"

Meanwhile, Garnet and Bismuth had trailed a gem experiment to the far outskirts of a nearby kindergarten, only to find a very bizarre scene--several corrupt gems, fusion experiments, and even humans were trapped here in makeshift prisons. Before they could work to free the injured, a lone figure appeared, walking in on the heels of a sandstorm the came with her. It was Jasper. She taunted the gems, calling out to them, "So you weaklings finally found me? This was a long time coming." Bismuth and Garnet immediately formed their weapons, leaping into combat, the pair working as a team to defeat the quartz warrior.

Many blows were struck, although Jasper soon found herself overwhelmed and cornered, gasping for breath, "You won't break me--you pathetic Gems, if only I had someone to fuse with, I could get revenge for my Diamond..."

At that, Garnet smashed her fist against Jasper's body, causing her to retreat back into her Gem. Bismuth stopped Garnet from bubbling her, interrupting, "Wait! This Jasper has been fighting us for over five thousand years? Why not put an end to it?"

Garnet slowly backed away from Bismuth, her voice wary, "I did not believe you would support such a thing..."

Bismuth pleaded, cracking an unsure smile, "If we don't shatter her, she'll just continue to fight us--look at all that Homeworld has destroyed! Isn't it time we take the fight back to them!?"

To this, Garnet tightened her grip around Jasper's gem, gritting her teeth. She knew what had to be done...

During Climax 3, Firebringer and Not Chara were both killed.

Pearl and Peridot finally managed to catch up to Garnet, who was on her way back to Beach City's hospital with the injured humans in tow. Pearl began to speak, trying to warn Garnet about Jasper, before Garnet simply interrupted her, "We defeated Jasper. Bismuth didn't make it. I bubbled them both and sent them to the temple. Once we get these people back to the hospital, we need to start on the drill so we can stop the Cluster."

Pearl took a sharp breath, then nodded silently, adding, "Y-yes, that does cover everything."

Before silence completely overtook the group, Peridot squealed, pointing at a nearby creature that had wandered close to them. In the shadows, it looked almost like Steven, although once it approached, it was clear that the being was one of the various watermelon children that Steven had inadvertently created several months ago. The watermelon kid shuffled over to Pearl and gave her a hug before gesturing wildly. The watermelon child found a stick and wrote 'Steven' on the ground, then pointed to itself, making incomprehensible noise. Pearl looked down at it, then back up to Garnet and over to Peridot, "You don't think... Is Steven... controlling them?"

Regaining her composure, Peridot laughed, "Hah! He's not even all that big! What a little guy, ehehe." Her eyes trailed off and she noticed several dozen more approaching, which caused her to shriek and hide behind Garnet, "Th-there's so many of them!"

Garnet patted Peridot's head, calming her down. "They are our allies--Steven's army. We should have them round up any of the gem experiments that Jasper didn't."

As it turned out, the little Watermelon Stevens going to work was largely unnoticed by Beach City's residents, as many of them were preoccupied with a historical play that was being put on that day...

The Event, "Steven, Is That You In There?" has been activated and will be ongoing for the next 48 hours:

Progress on the drill that would save the planet was well underway when the Watermelon Stevens returned, carrying back a tied up gem creature. They pointed their various makeshift weapons at it, ready to destroy it where it cowered. One particular Watermelon-child rushed between the crowd and the monster, shaking its head. They all lowered their weapons, Pearl gasping, "...Steven? Is that you?"

After properly bubbling the creature, the gems went back to work, pouring their best efforts into making a machine that could withstand the pressure inside of Earth's mantle. Greg eventually wandered by, bringing news that Steven was doing well in the hospital, lightening everyone's moods. Furthermore, Mayor Dewey had, apparently, funded quite the play about his ancestor discovering and founding Beach City. Pearl scoffed at the idea, insisting that the Gems had been here all along, but she was surprised by the few shreds of truth that did end up in the retelling that Greg gave.

For once, it seemed as though everything would work out, despite all that had happened so far. Even Peridot was happily contributing, putting aside her typical hang-ups about Garnet and Pearl in order to save the home that she was coming accept as her own.

The Event, "Steven, is that you in there?" has fully resolved.
As a result of this Event, no player has been lynched.
Due to the Event resolving in this manner, Stress has been reduced by six, towards 'Slice of Life.'

Crammed into the mechanized drill pod, Pearl and Peridot bore down into the Earth's crust, pressure mounting literally and figuratively. Molten bits flew around their superheated pod, although something wasn't quite going right. Parts of the drill were being torn apart! On one of the screens, Pearl identified the problem--forced-fusion creatures were tearing at their hull.

Before they could even mount their offense, Garnet was there, slugging the monsters across the tunnel that had been dug. As she fought of the fiends, the drill only burrowed deeper into the planet, eventually reaching its destination, The Cluster...

Thousands upon thousands of gem shards had been forced together, their energy pulsing as it sought to assume a physical form, destroying the planet as if it were hatching from an egg. Pearl stepped out of their nearly destroyed drill pod, gasping at the sheer size of the entity before her. She summoned her spear, preparing herself for the task to come, remarking, "We have to bring an end to its incubation, somehow..."

Peridot scrambled out and onto the ground, rolling her eyes, "Well, obviously. So... what's the plan?" The two exchanged a worried look and the planet shook under the glowing pressure of The Cluster. These final moments would decide if the entire rebellion was capable of saving anything, as well as the fate of billions. With the world on their shoulders, the protectors of this planet soldiered forward, putting their doubts behind them.

The Scum Factional Event, "The Cluster" has been triggered, with the following effects:
Players may no longer forego their Climax actions to accumulate points towards stopping The Cluster.
The full results of this Event, whether it failed or succeeded due to the actions of our brave heroes, will be posted at the end of the Climax Phase...

As the drill spun violently towards The Cluster, surges of light and energy came off of it, as if it knew it was being attacked and had unified against its assailants. The earth crumbled and buckled under the pressure exerted, causing earthquakes to shake the across the world. Large fissures tore apart pieces of Beach City, entire homes and people disappearing into the maw of the land. It seemed as though all hope was lost.

The seismic activity died down, everything quiet for a solemn moment. The escape pod from the drill shuttle unwound its way to the surface, Pearl climbing out slowly. Garnet rushed to her, checking for injury and finding none. She spoke to Pearl in a straightforward way, "What of the Cluster?"

To this, Pearl exhumed a long breath, "We did it, somehow. We managed to fight it back. It should break down, although we'll be dealing with smaller creatures for years to come."

Garnet glanced to the escape pod, then back to Pearl, "...and Peridot?"

Biting back tears, Pearl shook her head. "She sacrificed herself to ensure that the drill met its mark. Rose wouldn't have let her do that, I--I don't know what I'll tell Steven. I keep failing to protect everyone."

Garnet placed a hand on Pearl's shoulder, reassuring her, "Look around--we've saved everyone. And we'll tell Steven together."

As the pair of gems turned to make their way back to Beach City, a spaceship crashed down in front of them. Out from the smouldering crater climbed several Ruby soldiers. Their apparent leader, one with a yellow visor, narrowed its eyes at the remaining Crystal Gems. "You there, gems. Turn over Jasper to us immediately. We are to recover her before The Cluster destroys this rock."

With a chuckle, Garnet patted the Ruby on the head and continued onward, "We can't help you. You'd best be leaving before The Cluster gets you."

Proudly, the Ruby laughed, hands on her hips, "Then we'll just have to make way to our nearest communicator base, send out a relay, and pick up Jasper's signal. Come, soldiers!"

The Rubies piled back into their ship, which took off towards the Moon. Pearl, looking worried, caught up to Garnet, "What now?"

"We go to the moon and stop them from causing us more problems. If we are successful, they'll be leaving us alone for awhile."

"And if we aren't? What if we lose, Garnet?"

Garnet simply shook her head and soldiered onward towards the temple, "We can't afford to."

The Event "The Cluster" has fully resolved with the following Effects:
Due to not enough points being raised, the top contributors towards stopping The Cluster, McMenno and Xkfyu, have died.

The Scum Factional Event, "Return to Earth" has been triggered and is ongoing for the duration of Exposition 5:

Following my voting mechanics, if a player can submit multiple votes that use their name as the voting tag, doing so will remove their previous named voting tag. So, for instance, in the case of Skybird's role, which could render a double vote:

The fair citizens of the boardwalk would smile to Mayor Dewey as he walked on by. There was a pep in his step and a warmth to his demeanor. Everything was going right for once.

...everything except for the earthquakes, aliens, and monsters. It was about time that Mayor Dewey had a serious talk with the Crystal Gems, or, at least, this is what he figured. By the time that Garnet and Pearl had made their way back to the temple, they found the Mayor with his arms crossed in front of their temple. Boldly, he proclaimed, "You're thinking of chasing that spaceship off to the moon, huh? Well, we have more than enough problems here, ladies. Beach City needs your help, now more than ever. After spending several hours cleaning up the city and helping rebuild, Garnet and Pearl had taken their minds off of the looming Homeworld threat. All was right on Earth. So long as they were there, everything would continue to be right. After all, they were the Crystal Gems; they'd always save the day. Over the next several nights, Garnet and Pearl fended off various attacks from remnants of the cluster, vigilantly defending humanity at every turn.

However, while nights on Earth were celebrated with victory followed by victory, Garnet's eyes occasionally trailed over the moon, which hung ominously in the sky. Homeworld would be back, one day. It was only a matter of time...

While the forces of Homeworld had been fought back, new concerns were on the minds of Garnet and Pearl. It seemed as though they would have to work twice as hard to protect this planet. With that in mind, Pearl suggested, for the first time in a long time, that they train.

Once at the sky arena, Garnet cracked her knuckles and began to stretch, when Pearl interrupted, "Oh, I think it would be best if we were to focus on our individual weaknesses. For that reason, I think it's best if you're not fused."

Garnet seemed to consider this for a moment, before issuing a blunt, "No." However, Pearl seemed to be fairly serious about this, and after reconsidering, Garnet eventually relented. With a flash of light, she was split into her two original entities, Ruby and Sapphire. Pearl smiled, glad to know that they were on-board with her training. With a grin, Pearl summoned three holographic clones of herself, whom were soon upon the gems, spears at the ready. Should everything go right, everyone would be stronger individually and, ergo, that much more powerful when fused.

However, midway into their training, a large explosion rocked the sky arena. Still fending off holo-Pearl assault, the gems were separated by the explosion. Pearl managed to find Ruby pinned beneath a fallen stone column, only to discover it wasn't the Ruby she was familiar with. With a coughing laugh, this Ruby taunted her, "We were waiting until you were most vulnerable... Now you'll never find your friends. Your planet was nice. It's a shame." With that, she expired, her light retreating into her gem. Pearl slowly stood up, spear in hand. As her holo-clones approached, she quickly dispatched them with a flourish of her spear and a flurry of stabs.

Finally free to wander the ruins of the Sky Arena, Pearl sought out Ruby and Sapphire, silently cursing herself for splitting Garnet up in the first place.

The Event "AH! DON'T HURT HER! DON'T HURT... ME." has been triggered, causing the following public effects:

Welp, I already outted, so there's no more point in this blog. If TWIE flips town I don't know who's scum.

I'll try testing things with this:
Pregame: I investigated the straaaange disappearances around town.
Night 1: Discovered that there is, in fact, no Cheese in Cheez-Chaps. Whatever they are putting in there is a LIE!
Night 2: Weird monsters attacked Beach City! Speculation is that they were sent by Chaps-corp because I have discovered the truth.
Night 3: Everyone seems to be doing better and the threats have died down, but I speculate that something big is coming...
Night 4: Earthquakes! I investigated and found a large injector in the nearby canyon. Are the rock-people and Chaps-corp teaming up? I would have to champion Justice and Truth if I was to stand against them both...

Night 3: My notes seem awfully foreboding, it's as if I knew! I Double-checked, triple-checked, the result I got is indeed correct and not misunderstood.

Also, MoI, if you're so confident I am scum, let's play a game:

Say something like "If Creature flips town, I'll..."

Hopefully TWIE flips scum, some investigative have damning leads and game is soon solved. I don't want this game to end in a loss when we got three scum pretty early.

Also it'd be fun if we could get more posts than SMITE mafia.

@mod can allying be blocked?

Normal role interactions do not affect allying, so someone with a power that simply reads, "You may prevent a target player from taking any action during the Climax Phase" would NOT affect Allying.
That said, roles and abilities that are worded to affect Allying would. I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of any such roles outside of what has already flipped in the game thread.


...also, SU is pretty great, but I fully acknowledge it takes a few episodes to endear itself and really shine. I suggest that newcomers at least watch up to Episode 26, Ocean Gem, to get a feel for the series. Since each episode is only 11 minutes long, that does come out to a little less than 5 hours, which isn't too bad. Honestly, I feel as though the show starts to hit its mark around episodes such as Tiger Millionaire (Episode 9), Giant Woman (12), and Lars and the Cool Kids (14). The show begins with Steven being quite immature and childish, though he sees significant character growth across the series and even in the first 24 episodes. For many people, the initial presentation of the show can be a bit offputting, but it serves as a baseline from which everything grows, rather than a representation of what the whole series will be like.

I can also suggest a ton of great anime, but that's because I've probably watched too much. Look, PM me.

No. I only enforce force-replacements when a player breaks the game rules after being issued a warning, compromises their slot but not their role, or fails to meet the activity standards for the game.

The next attack was on the very hospital that Steven was staying in, as if Earth's enemies had discovered he was being taken care of there. By the time that Pearl had arrived, the creatures that had shown up had already been defeated, although none could say for sure who had done it. Pearl rushed by several injured and groaning patients to find Steven, who was doing fine in his bed. Tears on her cheeks already, she wrapped him in a quick hug.

Steven shook his head and exclaimed, "Pearl! You've got to help these people. They've been taking good care of me, and I couldn't protect them, but you still can. Please." With that, Pearl lifted herself from Steven's side and began to tend to the injured, finding many noble souls who had thrown themselves in the path of danger in order to protect others at the hospital. Even Connie's mother, a doctor at that very hospital, had been rendered infirm, bruised and battered from the previous onslaught. She, too, bade Pearl to take care of the other patients and injured, confiding that, despite their differences, she trusted Pearl with their protection and health.

@Varsoon: would NCs investigative power have revealed a scum slot who had no personal powers that could negatively affect someone (such as SC or TWIES roles), but who had access to their factional kill?

Yes. The Doctor Maheswaran role's investigative ability would produce a positive result even if the target only had factional means of negatively affecting other roles. The same goes for negative abilities gained in other fashions, such as from an Alliance or 'Inventor'-type role. The investigative ability, "DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY CHILDREN I SEE EVERYDAY WHO'VE CUT THEIR FACES OFF PLAYING WITH SWORDS?!," will always reflect the player's current capacity to negatively affect other players--no matter if that capacity or lack thereof is temporary, factional, alliance-gained, etc.

Wandering, filled with passion and purpose yet nothing to direct it all at, Pearl returned to the Sky Arena to look for clues. As she pushed aside the rubble, she hoped to find something that would help to track down the Homeworld threat. Midway through lifting a pillar, a familiar voice called out from the stands, "Pearl, I'm over here."

With a gasp, Pearl dropped the stone column and turned around, spear at the ready, only to sigh with relief as she spotted Sapphire. The blue gem was sitting about, looking as serene as ever, as if this was simply where she belonged. Pearl chuckled sheepishly, looking a bit embarrassed for missing her, "Oh! Sapphire. Didn't see you there. Do you have any idea where the Homeworld gems are at?"

Sapphire nodded plainly. "Yes. A search party of humans went out looking for them in the kindergarten. If we leave now, we can stop things from escalating." Despite the rather deadpan delivery, Pearl flew into a panic, taking Sapphire by the hand and rushing off to the nearby kindergarten, desperation speeding her along.

At the Kindgergarten, Pearl and Sapphire came across the site of a battle, various weapons ranging from spears to bats to even guns strewn about. While the ground was littered with a few of the hybrid forced-fusion monsters' gems, indicating they had been defeated, only a single human was resting there, weary and battered. It was Mayor Dewey.

Pearl gasped, surprised at the valor of the man she had so often disregarded. He chuckled weakly, his bruised face managing a smile. "Made my last stand, here. Not gonna let anyone destroy my city and get away with it. Got almost all of 'em, but the little red one got away." Pearl scoffed, readying a quick retort, before sighing and going about bubbling the gems that she could. After fashioning a crutch for the Mayor, she spoke up,

"You didn't have to do this. We'll take care of it from here. Can you make it back to the hospital?"

Mayor Dewey, trying to act stoic, took a few steps before quickly retreating to the crutch and nodding through the pain. Before more words could be shared, Sapphire interjected, "We must hurry."

As they rushed off, the mayor called out to them, pleading, "You'll tell everyone of my noble last-stand to protect Beach City, right? This won't just be another sad footnote!" With that, though, the gems were off, leaving the Mayor as confused and out-of-sorts as ever.

Eventually, these steps came to a dead end right outside of a small pod--a Homeworld vessel! Before they could reach it, the ship took to the skies and darted away, Pearl firing bolts of energy from her lance, yet to no avail. Anguished, Pearl slumped against a rock, murmuring, "Maybe I am no good." Before all hope was lost and despair set in, Sapphire lifted her head.

"They are headed to the Communication Hub."

Pearl chuckled, lifting herself up, "Sugilite destroyed it. They'll find nothing there..."

With determination filling her, Sapphire turned back towards Beach City, "...except for us, waiting. Come on."
