Undyne's dialogue made it sound like I was Genocidal but I had been sparing some enemies so IDK? This is still my first playthrough.
Either way, that was a fun boss battle! There will be no kisses tonight

This post was pretty natch tho, got me good.
I feel like there are 0 bad things I can say about this game. Everything feels purposeful yet the game still remains so playful, it's funny but serious, it catches you off guard, it outright terrifies you. I can't wait for the avalanche of games that use the "Undertale combat system" because it is really that good and that fresh.
The slightest thing I could say is maybe to make it more apparent that most all things can be spared, but also I don't want this because it made it so I often had to choose (and in most cases, I spared less enemies whilst killing things that were so aggressive toward me in the first place)
Lots of excellent boss battles, EXCELLENT SOUNDTRACK OMG, lovable characters . . . how is this not everyone's Game of the Year? There will be no kisses tonight

Yeah, I guess things like the Witcher, MGSV are "threats" to it's GOTYness, but in a culture in love with open-world sandboxes, Undertale wraps itself up so neatly and concisely yet still fills immersive and responsive to the way you play. There will be no kisses tonight

I'm still obsessed. I've watched a let's play of a pacifist run and skimmed through a genocide one.
I just love how this game is so sandboxy while still being linear.

Bonus if they're on ds/3ds/PC or able to be emulated since that's mostly all I game on anymore.
You may want to try LISA: the Hateful RPG. From what I played (4-5 hours?), it was a bizarre sidescrolling RPG romp. The basic story is that it is a world with no women left in it. It's far more adult than the adultiest things in Undertale, and it's dark humor, but it was all great. Available on Steam.
I haven't played it, but I'm interested in it, so I feel like 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors for the DS would be a good choice? Sort of a twistySaw-like visual novel, though more for the psychological thrill than the gore.
I also want more good suggestions for other games like Undertale.
And yeah, Undertale needs to be up there if not winning GOTY accolades. I'm sad it got shunted to "best indie game" in the VGA nominations in favor of AAA titles. There will be no kisses tonight

It's way too soon to crown Undertale as the Best Game Ever in any sense. Still too much buzz and hype around it. Give me a few years, and if it is still getting such accolades, sure.
It's why if I were to do a favorite songs of ever, for instance, I would probably disqualify anything released in at least the last year. I love it now, but will I remember it next year? There will be no kisses tonight

I would honestly say that Undertale is better than R/B/Y. I mean, I'm going to probably get at least one if not all three of them when they come to 3ds in january, but it's outdated and has not aged well. Maybe in 20 years we'll think the same about Undertale, but for now it's definitely a lot tighter in almost every regard.
I mean, I don't know what I would put ahead of Undertale (other than SotC and TWD, obv), but even in all it's greatness, it feels like there has to be something greater, right?
OoT is no surprise, but I didn't realize SMRPG was as well-loved as this! There will be no kisses tonight

IIRC, Yellow was an Ash-centric version of R/B, so you had a pikachu that followed you and couldn't evolve, instead of the "final" Rocket mooks there was Jesse, James and meowth, you could acquire all the starters at various points throughout the main story. Additionally I think most sprites were changed, some movesets were changed, and some pokemon locations were modified.
And I'm not really shocked that Ocarina of Time is thrashing SMRPG because it's so often considered the best game of ever. I must be like, one of the last people to play it. I think I've played the Kokiri forest level at a friends house or something, but you know how that goes.
I think OoT v. Undertale will be a very interesting matchup, especially given how fan-driven Undertale's votes are and a lot of people are voting against Undertale rather than for the other game. There will be no kisses tonight
