I'd be willing to do pathfinder. I know that version (and don't know 3.5)

After thinking a bit, I'll join team everywhere else. (Yes, that's a /in for everywhere else so long as timing isn't godawful)

FYI, I've not done too much pathfinder (or D&D in general), but I like melee classes.

I'd be willing to give a ranged class a shot. Don't care that much. Time to learn how spellcasters work~

So, I've been playing some pathfinder with a group of friends and I'm having the time of my life with this character I've been running - a Strix Magus.

The whole plot so far (we've gone from lvl 3 -> lvl 8 with a slightly revolving cast of characters because lots of deaths) is that a bunch of people were trapped in an alternate plane (which was shorthanded as "The Box") and shit was going crazy. Eventually we escaped The Box (as did everyone else on the plane) and my character ended up very close to the Tundra area, in a Forest with no one around for miles. So in order to survive, he made a deal with what would later become the baddies of the campaign and has essentially started a massive war.

Now he wants to do everything in his power to stop it.

So I'm in this campaign, and the GM says we're playing with gestalt characters. I'm running a ranger + rogue, and let me say this. Stealth and Acrobatics may be my favourite skills in the entire game. Not only can you not see me, but when you do, I can run right through your attack range without taking AOOs!

Chaotic Good is my favourite kind of character to play. It gives me an excuse to not play "by the book", while also doing good things.

I'm in a second campaign by the same guy who is doing the first one. This one is much less crazy mechanics, which is cool. I'm being a Bladebound Magus, which is doubly awesome.

This session was AWESOME! We went from 8:30pm to 1:30am, and despite having to be up at 8:00am for work I don't care. My animal familiar wolf crit killed the last hag despite eating -11 in ability damage, me taking -2 from ability damagr AND a -4 penalty to attack rolls and skill checks.

Had a little mini-session (aka a weekly) with the GM, ended up getting a +1 Holy Intelligent Longsword that morphed into an Elven Curve Blade because of proficiencies and whatnot. Now to read up on intelligent weapons when I get home...

It also lights up near undead!

So... I've decided to throw my hat into the GM'ing ring. I'll be doing
Iron Gods
, the pathfinder adventure path starting in March. I'm nervous, but also excited! If at all possible, I'd love some tips (and yes, I have heard "your PCs are stupid" already).

In about a month or so, I'd be more than willing to quasi-revive the thread with weekly updates if wanted.

That makes sense. Also man, helping the PCs make their characters (via giving suggestions when they get stuck) is actually lots of fun.

So I'm late etc. etc. but better late than never. The first session was mostly finishing off character creation anyways. So, my group is 6 players, which is larger than I anticipated but I'm just glad the interest was there. The group is three changelings, two of which are identical twins (Witch/Occultist are twins, the other is a Ranger). We have two Humans (Cleric/Samurai), and an Android (Investigator).

The large part of what actually happened during the Friday session was they went to get lodging before their trip underground and ended up hearing a scream from a girl (who was an adoptive sister of the changeling girls). They destroyed the poor malfunctioning robot that wanted to "repair" the house via tearing it down :(

I learned a lot about DM'ing already, and the group says I did a great job, so that was good to hear!

Bump. Looking for suggestions on how people build homebrew world/campaigns, as I have an idea floating around and a world mostly built, but it's the building of the campaign that makes me not certain after doing APs for so long.

Did you roll for those stats?

EDIT: Nevermind I missed the +1 to an ability score once you hit level 4. That's a 20PB. Looks solid enough, but the 20 con confuses me.

Yeah, we ran through that ROTRL campaign as well and found it similarly dull. I don't quite understand why it's a classic, tbh.
