QUESTIONS FOR EVERYBODY

1) What is your preferred alignment?
That is on my wiki page. To reiterate what is on there: I like both for different reasons, but I lean towards mafia.
2) Are you often mislynched? If so, why is that?
No, but I get scumread a lot.
3) Can you describe your play style concisely in one sentence?
Crouching amateur, hidden master. (At least based on past samples)
4) If you were the deciding vote at lylo with the slot above you, and the slot below you, which player would you lynch and why? (Ex: 1 would be deciding between 13, and 2. 2 would be deciding between 1 and 3. 3 would decide between 2 and 4.) [/qoute]
Zoronos because I haven't played with him and don't trust him.
5) How excited are you for this game?
I'm excited to play some new people, so yeah pretty excited. Let's hope I don't get a case of Cabin Fever amiright?

Your over-aggressive-ness is a sign of scum IMO. If "I'm not afraid to die" is your reaction to getting voted then you're not playing to your win con.

I'm more of an MLA guy.
No, scum is more concerned with staying alive then finding scum.

Playing completely absent annoys me, but something being annoying doesn't make it scum. But it also doesn't make me really want to jump in front of a train and yell "No this is wrong don't lynch it" and I really love doing that, so give me something to work with if this is your sincerely held belief.

I promised boring I'd talk about this when I got input from Grendel, so:
The unclaiming thing was when pretty much all the players were forced to no-claim miller and bleeder. I wanted to check who did it more, town or mafia. Mafia seemed to do it more. I think Eager is town right now, FYI. If he was scum, he probably would have claimed miller.

I never stated I townread you, but this is your normal townplay, so yeah I townread you because your play is towny.
Implosion became town because he a) actually read LUV's post and b) still scumread me after like half the players stated a townread on me. Shadow needs to contribute because he hasn't seemed to have done much beyond voting LUV and PP.

You trying to call his methodology bad. Also, as Grendel mentioned, you've seemed to be trying to remain in popular opinion.
Now that we have a VC:
VOTE: PenguinPower
And I didn't say you were town, that statement before was sarcastic. I had already been townleaning Implosion. Not the same case with you.

In post 456, Grendel wrote:Are you scum reading Zoronos? Because you voted one of my biggest critics for being critical of me, which would imply you had a town read on me at least since then. For you to suddenly say that you weren't town reading me doesn't add up to how I recalled your actions. What
specificly
about my play is townie?

Also, Why is the crux of your vote for Penguin "what Grendel said"?

That puts you in a position were you could blame me if Penguin flips town. And as a whole is not informative, rather is lazy.
I was being critical because it was typical town play for you. I believe I stated I needed to see more to sort you out once or twice. Zoronos is still a bit of a scumread. Actually, my reads are starting to get mixed up. I may have to actually sort them out with a list.
PEdit: I am starting to scumread S_s though.

Instead of reacting to the whole case you chose to react to a single part of it which, on it's own, would indeed be a BS case.

That's why cases are made up of multiple pieces.

I see most of NN30's case is my read on Shadow.
My read changed after my review of PP's wagon. I didn't find his vote particularly scummy.
As for Dierfire, I think he is the most likely scum on PP's wagon. His grouping of me and PP feels like throwing shade on us. This makes me think PP is town. If Dier flips town I'll reconsider my PP read.
As for NN30's statement that I out scumreads as town:
1) my only completed scumgame had me outing my scumreads quite a bit Day 1.
2) I've seen indication that outing townreads is antitown, and even held that philosophy for a bit. So yes, I'll admit my play was antitown. I do not consider it scummy however.
Finally, about my current state:
I'm V/LA at DisneyWorld for a few days due to having to spend time with family. I notified the mod via PM, but they never put that in apparently. I hope to be back to normal by Tuesday.

Also, this doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

The fact that another player (Dierfire) is grouping the two of you together should have no bearing on your read of PP. Doing so is engaging in a logical fallacy.
Me and PP were going at it with each other for a bit, in a way I can't see as distancing. This makes me think Dier is making things up to cast shade on us, meaning PP would be town.

The fact that he called LUV town and then said that he doesn't actually believe LUV is town (just that a particular argument was bad) is very strong evidence that he's just pretending to have reads on people.

I think this post needs more attention. (I agree with it).

So I believe Shadow is town. I've seen town late-CC before, and for good reason.
I agree that I doubt there is 2 ascetics in any capacity. That would make the game very disturbing. I feel that Shadow is telling the truth, and even if both are ascetic, I doubt both would be town.
Therefore, I believe Eager is scum.

BTW, the reason V/LA explains my absence is I've been catching up in another game.

This disagrees with your 867. What caused you to change your mind?
Me realizing boring's poorly formed read on Shadow was probably scum trying to find things that aren't there. You could call it "matching evidence to reads".

Well for one, the "powertown" (what boring said Shadow was doing) is a scum tactic: I know thanks to Transcend's old sig. Shadow also hadn't really started pressing Eager yet.

I mentioned that Grendel's summary made me rethink some things. What I'm having issues dealing with is determining the motivation behind a certain play. This play is the "both are town" idea that Eager and Maria have suggested. Thing is, I've used this defense before...

Could be, but less likely than him actually just being ascetic.

Assuming he's fake claiming at the start of day one is a stretch, especially for someone who's only been on the site a few months.
Thing is, I was always suspicious of Eager's claim. It was the language he used. "Don't waste your night actions on me" sounds like scared scum.

Don't read too much into this.

It's not like the two of you randomly starting a wagon on Dierfire would result in a lynch today.

It's basically Eager, Boring, or maaaaybe Shadow today.
The result didn't matter: it was whether he bit.

I mean you are living in a world were it has to be Town/scum, not town/town, or scum/scum.

I seem to recalled you thought that it was a great way for scum to "set up lynches". Scum call these two lynches Town/scum, and when the first flips town they can move onto the other because, "they both can't be town".

Wasn't those your words in the newbie we played together? Wasn't that the whole reason you investigated me back then?
I'm only saying it can't be scum!PP and town!Dier.
And I investigated you because I figured you would be strong in LYLO.

I'm townreading both Implosion and Prism, Implosion for his early game actions, and Prism for his conviction on his Implosion read.

In post 1297, Dierfire wrote:All right, I've caught up.

I am virtually certain that Shadow_step has the Ascetic modifier, regardless of alignment (he was clearly setting up to counter the claim as soon as eagerSnake made it), and very confident that Shadow_step is Town (Mafia has low incentive to counter the claim). With eagerSnake, I was half expecting him to withdraw the claim; the fact that he hasn't rules out some Town plays (Bulletproof or Miller trying to draw the kill were my first thoughts, I also thought of Wary but I don't know if that's common on this site because I can't find it in the Wiki--certainly it's not Normal). It also weighs against some Mafia plays (I agree with the idea that a Mafia Ascetic role is powerful and probably unlikely to claim early without withdrawing the claim later, so I'd find a Mafia Goon more likely).

A few points since the claim make me suspicious of eagerSnake. First, and most obviously, eagerSnake actively resisted attempts by Zoronos ( and others) and nn30 () to provide content that would help us judge his alignment independently of the Ascetic claim. This seems consistent with a Mafia player in significant danger of being lynched and trying to avoid giving associative information (discussion of possible self-vote in is also consistent with that thought process). The vote on implosion in is also strange given that boring is the larger wagon and was the player eagerSnake was most confidently reading as Mafia (I don't see any change from ). Of course, I think that the reasons to vote for boring didn't hold much water in the first place (
next post
post after next), which is also suspicious (I'm not buying that eagerSnake was simply too uncertain to make a meaningful case--in that event, he should have been working at improving his reads rather than repetitively insisting that he was Town).

UNVOTE: PenguinPower
VOTE: eagerSnake

I want a full claim from eagerSnake.

I saw someone else ask this and get the "fishing" dodge, so to be clear: I am inclined to lynch eagerSnake
unless
he has some additional reason that we should leave him alive.

It seems unlikely to me that PenguinPower and Gamma Emerald are
both
Mafia with eagerSnake, but either one could be.
It was me who was accused of fishing, though I just asked if Snake was a PR on top of being ascetic.

In post 1299, Dierfire wrote:Last, I'm discussing boring.

MariaR seems to be working with PoE (). I've nothing useful to say about that.

I see that nn30 has multiple references to things that feel "off" (, , ) but not much elaboration on those.

The idea that eagerSnake parking a vote on boring should have attracted more votes from Mafia players if boring were Town () does not seem compelling to me. For one thing, there
were
votes for boring: a vote from Prism in (due to an error in the VC the two votes for boring are listed separately), one from MariaR in , and one from implosion in .

I don't find it suspicious that she turned on eagerSnake after Shadow_step claimed. I think that her ISO clearly shows that she was reading eagerSnake as Town for no reason other than the claim (whether this was warranted is a separate discussion, but not one that I feel gives insight into her alignment given her reaction in ). I'm not seeing any evidence that boring is "happy" with the conflict between Shadow_step and eagerSnake (), other than the fact that she was ready to vote for eagerSnake.

The idea that the read on Shadow_step given by boring in is the one that I most agree with--that last line in particular does seem awkward. I do think that Shadow_step seemed aggressive before that, though (and I find it suspicious that Gamma Emerald in seems convinced by this, since Gamma Emerald in thought that Shadow_step was in a tunnel).

This isn't a Town read, but it's not a Mafia read and I think that eagerSnake is a better vote than boring.

No real read change, but I've decided that you cannot be scum if Dier is town. What scum would reject an offer like that?

They had expressed a scumread on you. The fact they chose not to follow me likely means that if you are town, he is town as well.

What if he were Mafia with eagerSnake, afraid to look like he's trying to counter the wagon?
What if he were Mafia with boring, trying to keep the eagerSnake wagon viable to avoid lynching boring?
What if every single wagon were on Town, and he just didn't see a need to move a vote at all?
(What if he were Mafia with you and the whole thing is an act?)
What if you have confbias!!!??
