So, does anyone else think that with Hanweir Garrison rdw might be viable in standard again? Or is gw tokens still too dominant?

xmage has the new sets running very fast, for example the whole kaladesh set is up already but it's still a little buggy and the bugs are being fixed

first one was 2hg with a friend. we went wu for him and bg for me. his deck included my oketra, angel of sanctions, and curator of mysteries. and a ton of fliers and a bunch of removal. mine was bg with bontu, dread wanderer, plague belcher, liliana's mastery and hapatra. sac a zombie, you lose 4 life? yes please. unfortunately I never got to draw hapatra though. and it turns out decimator beetle is just insane. we went 3-1 because we lost in the finals to a pretty cool ub deck and another deck.

second one I opened a nissa, unfortunately my blue couldn't support g/u but I went g/w because my white was pretty strong and I splashed nissa with 2 islands and an evolving wilds. highlights include promo angel of sanctions, oracle's vault and foil champion of rhonas. also aven mindcensor came in handy sometimes. ended up going 3-2 with a pretty close last match. one game in particular I was at 1 with my opponent having a trespasser's curse out. he couldn't close out the game so I just started ticking nissa up and ultimated her twice, attacking with the two lands and angel of sanctions for the win.

I also pulled a grand total of three hazoret's favors. yay.

yeah I'm enjoying it. I mean glyph keeper and glorybringer are annoying at rare. but if you play a low-to-the-ground aggro deck you can just curve out and then their bomb doesn't matter.

looks like you get to attach each contraption to a particular sprocket, and they activate every three turns. maybe there'll be contraptions with some synergy so you'll be incentivized to not put them all on the same sprocket

I like the bans, but I mostly play limited anyway so I don't really have a stake in it.

if you wanted to play with treasure tokens etc., you'd probably want to go all in on the treasure, and I don't think those spells fit in that shell. that deck is probably not very viable though, so prepare to lose a lot unless you take it to a very casual fnm meta.

See what I think is going to crack the code is some sort of hyper Aggro deck who’s individual pieces aren’t that strong, but together can pressure from a lot of different angles all at once. The average CMC should probably work out to 2.5. The deck should feature a decent of board removal to turn off field of dead, as well as spot removal to kill big threats. Maybe Black-Red?
