I’ve been doing a Black 2 run for the past couple of weeks and am currently in Nimbasa with 3 badges and 4 deaths. My rule set is a somewhat basic one, the only real restriction I have beyond 1 catch per route and permadeath is set battle (which I forgot to turn on initially but I kept my Pokémon in for the battle I forgot it for). Two of my deaths were in Desert Resort, you really need to watch the sandstorm damage there.
I intend to make a comic of the run when I finish btw

So I beat Elesa. HOLY CRAP THAT WAS HARD. It was actually a second attempt because the first one took so long the notes I had for it were too long. Even with knowing a little of what to expect I still struggled. I even made a tactical blunder that nearly cost a team mate I was very attached to. Welp, serves me right, I’d said on another site that I felt there was no difficulty spikes in the Gen 5 games and that served as a prompt wake-up call.

So I've been doing another run after quitting my previous run around driftveil city, this time of Soulsilver. I'm at ecruteak, I've had like 4 deaths at this point, Whitney's Miltank was pretty easy honestly, I used a nidorina to tank it and deal poison damage
