Just don't vote someone that already has 3 votes.

I am the IC and you're free to ask me questions.
  • I won't lie to gain advantage over you (even if I did, an SE could easily call me out).
  • Don't expect me to be god. I won't be the town that will find scum in less than 10 pages nor the scum that will fool you all.
  • Some things I say are opinions, doesn't mean they're correct.
  • I am still a standard player. I'll play for my win condition.

RVS

Stands for Random Voting Stage.

You have few to no posts to analyse, so, unless you're scum, you have no information to solve the game. So you're free to make joke votes, random votes or some weird discussions. Though, try to push something out of it. This phase shouldn't last more than 2 real life days, otherwise there's something wrong going there.

L-# and Hammer

A lynch is reached as soon someone gets over half the votes.
L-# stands for # votes to reach that lynch. L-1 means that player is one vote away from getting lynched.
Hammer is the vote that seals the lynch.

The reason we don't lynch too early in the game is to gather more information. We have 2 weeks of discussion and by lynching too early, you deny information to the town and can possibly mislynch a town PR. You should always call L-1 (preferably in bold in a new line) when you put someone one vote away from being lynched. If you see that, don't put another vote on them before declaring intent, there are some exceptions though. Doing that before declaring intent isn't scummy, but anti-town, which might lead to you being policy lynched.

Players aliveVotes to lynchWhen to call L-1
954
854
743
643
532
432
321 (not really needed here)

MyLo/LyLo

This is the point of the game where town can't lynch another town (Mislynch and Lose) or they have to lynch scum (Lynch (scum) or Lose). It's worth being more cautious here as scum can coordinate a quickhammer on a wagon if someone misvotes, I recommend using FoS (Finger of Suspicion).

TIP: If you see a wagon at L-1 during this stage and you're town, you can say "not hammering" as scum would usually quickhammer a town wagon. If you're scum and you know there's no way you can lose during the night, you can just quickhammer.

When it's MyLo/LyLo:
6 players alive with no scum dead (MyLo)
5 players alive with no scum dead (LyLo)
4 players alive with one scum dead (MyLo)
3 players alive with one scum dead (LyLo)

When to claim

Sometimes claiming might not be ideal. If you're a PR, you'll most likely be nightkilled/roleblocked (if there's one) next night. If you're a VT, you'll help scum narrow down the list of PRs.

There are some situations where you should claim:
  • When you're at L-1 and someone declares intent.
  • When you got an incriminating result (or you feel you got).
  • When you feel there's no reason to not claim anymore.
  • When town agrees on a massclaim.

Some expressions we use

Wagon: When someone accumulates votes.
AI/NAI: Alignment Indicative/Non-Alignment Indicative.
Town/Scum tells: Something town/scum is more likely to do than scum/town.
Sheeping: Following someone's read.
AtE: Appeal to Emotion.
LyLo: Lynch or Lose. When town must lynch scum to not lose.
MyLo: Mislynch and Lose. When town can't lynch another town.
FoS: Finger of Suspicion.
Lurk: Avoid getting engaged in discussion.
Meta: How someone played other games.
L-#: Number of votes needed to lynch.
Hammer: Vote that seals the lynch.
Twilight: After the hammer vote, before the mod locks the thread and flips the lynchee.
VT: Vanilla Town
Doc: Doctor
JK: Jailkeeper
BP: Bulletproof
RB: Roleblocker

You can see more here.

I might be missing something, but you can always ask me.

Most important:

Always announce when you're putting someone to L-1, if you're unsure, count the votes.

Don't hammer without a claim, unless the player is openly refusing to hammer and deadline is approaching or there are no more claims to be made (such two PRs dead). Please, have patience though, it could save a PR's life.

Try to be the most active possible. Post your thoughts, ask questions, or if you don't have anything to say, at least make us feel your presence.

If you feel you're not having fun/demotivated, you can still replace out. We won't be mad if you do, we will if we have to wait 3 or more days for you to flake out.

Also, this day lasts 14 real life days, but don't wait until the last minute.

One week of discussion is pretty enough to start coordinating a lynch.

Depends on how dangerous the IC is to scum:
- How right on track they are
- How hard to manipulate they are
- How hard to mislynch they are
- How likely to get town support they are
- And if no PR claimed

cassielle, there are six possible setups:
Row 1 = Jailkeeper, 6 VTs vs 2 goons
Row 2 = Cop, Doctor, 5 VTs vs Roleblocker, goon
Row 3 = Tracker, BP, 5 VTs vs 2 goons
Column A = Jailkeeper, BP, 5 VTs vs Roleblocker, goon
Column B = Cop, 6 VTs vs 2 goons
Column C = Tracker Doctor, 5 VTs vs 2 goons

explain how this is the case? i dont see this narrowing things down at all. theres like one person from where im standing that schadd_ couldnt be scumpals with? where is this coming from, that doesnt help at all if schadd_ flips town!

schadd_ flipping scum helps us more, but we can't tell where his scumbuddy voted during D1.

schadd_ flipping town gives us a good analysis to find scum analysing the D1 wagons.

emotional vibing, liked his TB vote early game, i think his calling TB's claim calculated looks like genuine analysis, general approach to the game feels like town with like 1 game of experience off-site

but i'm kind of at a point where i have to pick two in {schadd, shade, matt} to be very confident in their townieness to get that game-winning townbloc (very confident in rask, you, and GAYreen town)

or i could just scumhunt but i honestly want to get a baseline of everyone's personality first, i'm ass at scumhunting but i don't think an overemphasis on townhunting is the right approach this game like usually works out to be, feels too slow? :dead:

rakkar needs to post something game advancing

In post 494, Shade wrote:I can't catch up and post more than this tonight because I'm really busy with a sudden real life issue, and the fact this game has so many new posts is not helping.

@Aeronaut Please don't replace me from the game! I will promised try to be more active.

Just answering to a post I read last night

@gigabyteTroubadour I was suspecting gayreen as scum. That was the main reason I asked questions about your reads cause your read about gayreen felt really weird to me. I don't suspect him as scum with TB necessarily, not sure why you were expecting me to scum read them as a team. The way he kept his vote around as a threat and got confused after TB claim is actually scummy to me but first thing that came to my mind was the way he was asking for permissions to vote [like asking help from a more talented player] and I voted ThinkGig mainly to see what will you and GAYreenHamster do about it (and to actually remind ThinkBig to answer my question) which was disrupted with this wagon on me.

As I think it won't have the effect I wanted anymore UNVOTE: ThinkBig

I will answer anything else which was asked from me later when I have time to fully catch up and comment about stuff and will sort my reads.

Sorry for this, Have a good night
