Now, at some point I have to confirm that you're town to the game. This happens 100% of the time.

What does me saying that you're conftown to me do to the game when my alignment is an unknown? Nothing. It makes it probable that you're town, but not certain, which means mechanically your slot is still a potential mislynch.

It isn't until I flip as town that your slot becomes conftown.

That's the normal course of things, and it's fairly weak.

In a bastard game, either you or I could have an alignment change at some point, thus negating the confirmation I received, OR making it so when I flip, you remain a potential mislynch.

The other possibility is that when I tell the game that you're conftown per mod communication, you claim that it's because we're masons, thus taking us both off the lynch table. I wasn't suggesting this WOULD happen, merely mentioning it for the sake of thoroughness.

There's no good reason for town to avoid the opportunity to venge a scum or at least vig a slot that may need to be flipped for the good of the town. Scum are limited in numbers and would be scared to be paired with town. They would like to pair with each other or with a PR read. Do you think scum, who need to be able to lynch as many slots as possible would want to be tied up to a town slot that could suicide on them if scum ever turned on their lover? Scum have reason to not partner up, town do not.

I've been in games where some players can pair up. I wound up joining with a Scum. They'd con me, get information, then I'd be the factional kill target. Hiplop or Cerb was the first to do that... was it a Mastin game?... I can't remember and I'm not looking it up. Plus I can't say too much because there's an ongoing...

Painbringer trusted them enough to swap hats. If CD is Scum, then PB probably are too. If PB are Town, then CD probably are too.

Fact 1: Kyouko hammered CD, in response triggering an ability CD claimed that lead to Kyouko dying without a flip.

Fact 2: CD is now in Kyouko's position in a lover PT with keyXrb.

Leon's conclusion: The two abilities are related, and CD is scum by virtue of lying about his claim. This also coincides with the ability being a perfect flavor match for a Geass ability in the source material.

Alternative possibilities: Someone else has an ability that says "switch a player's PT position with that of a dead player"?

The latter ability makes little sense and matches nothing I can think of in Code Geass. Also note that the game did not start with Lover PTs, they only exist because of Painbringer's ability. If PB hadn't used the ability, the PT thing would be an even worse ability. As such, I don't believe that such an ability exists.

Why does CD's "royal execution" not cause a flip? Because CD takes that person's spot.

Okay, so CD is Scum. Not the best case, but I've seen worse. We get a wagon going, get them to L-1 - and then what? Whoever hammers them dies instead again? This might not be a good idea.

The thing is this game is REALLY bastard, I haven't been given info about what happens when people pledge to me and I really don't understand why scum would have this 'take this person's place' modifier. It seems like if anything, it's a town PGO bastard variant thing. What's everyone else's take?

On the pledge part, some Nobles give benefits or maybe handicaps to players that pledge to them. I don't do anything as a Noble, there's nothing in my PM.

Maybe some players bring something to the Nobles if they pledge, I don't know.

I think KlingonCelt is scum. Don't like the way she waffled between the CD and mal wagon, trying to push the wagon towards mal before settling on CD due to the popularity of the wagon (see posts 2438, 2441 and 2442).

The above is based on the assumption that Klingon is CD's buddy, trying to sway the wagon but bussing when she saw the way the wind blowed. If CD flipped town, I might read it different, but if CD flips scum, I would want Klingon shot.

I'm a total derp on Day 1, as such I'm usually lynched (or vig'ed Night 1) as low-hanging fruit. The experience leaves me feeling sorry for whoever ends up as the D1 lynch, and I'm reluctant to vote for someone that isn't a very strong read.

First, I have trouble reading certain players, including both heads of the hydra. A Day1 Scumread on CD will be more like an FoS.

I flat out skipped all the high school hijinks. (no offense to anyone who is just roleplaying, my comment is on the content and not the people) I'm 55 and that doesn't appeal to me. I'd be willing to bet that more than 1500 posts have been nauseating to me. But I soldier on because I don't replace out.

RL's been nuts, and I'm sick again, so I'm not intensely focused. This is a game for chrissakes. Some people take games way too dang seriously.

I brought up posts by Klingon that were made D2. In response, she brought up her D1 play. That is why I said "that doesn't correspond".

I was V/LA for much of Day 1, and dealing with RL. That threw my whole game off.

Vecna I was Scumreading it because of the way it was posting, then thought the posting style might be it's shtick, so I don't know. Null.

As for a case, I said I was Scumreading Drone. Drone is gone. You are here now. I haven't fully made up my mind about you, but at present you're leaning Town.

And if you think I'm leaning towards town but SRing the previous slot holder, you really need to rethink your read.
The way I see it, if I see someone replace into a game and I was SRing the previous slot holder but TRing the current slot holder, I would probably have to think about how I feel about the slot overall.

I replaced Cooldog in a Steven Universe game. As I was reading through I had to keep checking my RolePM because his were the Scummiest posts I'd seen in any game for some time. He/I was the Town Cop.

I learned not to rely on a read on a slot's previous occupant.
