Kalinigrad
, Kalinigrad Oblast, Russia
Russian
Mob
Compound
, Outside City Limits
January 14th,
2018

22:31 hours UTC +2

Snow covers the roads of Kalinigrad like skin flakes from a leprous corpse. The city sleeps, and its roads and edifices show signs of unnatural aging since the war began. The nightly broadcast is more graphic than ever; bodies are shown slouched over in their seats, eyes still open; clothes stained in blood and bullets. Few tears are shed. The city itself has grown accustomed to the bloodshed; at least the criminals were already killing each other instead of the "normal" people. Even the murder of the local mayor caused only a minor stir. Despite the fact his eyeballs were forced from their sockets, and half the bones in his body were broken and his organs removed, the citizenry maintained their horrified silence.

The largest crime family in Lithuania, spear-headed by
Boss Risardas
, had declared war on a Russian Mob faction that operated from the Kalinigrad Oblast region of Russia. The war surpassed all expectations in both scale and duration. The Lithuanian Mob, while smaller and less armed, held its own against the Russian Mob for months. But the fighting was limited to Lithuania, and the sheer man-power of the Russians caused the streets of many towns and cities to be colored with cold crimson.

As the fighting was at its worst for the Lithuanians, the two heirs to the Lithuanian Mob,
Martinas
and
Juozas
, formed their own brigades and took to the streets. Within three bloody months the fight was pushed over the border into the Kalinigrad Oblast. The Russians were again the defender of their cold cities, and the Lithuanians were a violent aggressor.

The war was "celebrating" its eleventh month, and no one was looking for the next major landmark: the highest body-count since the last national war. On this frost-bitten night, the Russian Mob's high command met in an underground bunker, in the heart of their territory, outside
Kalinigrad
. As their avtoritet fought- and, at times, aimed guns at each other- the one resonating statement rose above all other quarrels and complaints:
They would end this war, and they would destroy Risardas and his family, down to the last
soldati
. And luckily for them, they knew of a branch of Risardas' family tree that was rotten and ready to co-operate...

Andrius presents...

Resurgence Mafia

Atgimimas Mafija

Image

Features:

  • 20 Players
  • Non-Bastard Game
  • Mostly Non-Normal Roles (not counting the psuedo-VTs), due to:
  • Multiple Brigade Recruiters (No Alignment Changes)
  • 2-week Days, 3-day Nights
I love QuickTopics. I love Power Roles. I love Neighborizers. What does this all mean?
I combined all the things I love, mixed in some Lithuanian flavor, and boom! My first large theme game.

Basically, there are multiple recruiters that recruit
soldati
(Vanilla Roles) into brigades that have their own special abilities. Specifics are classified at the moment.

Prior Experience:
I'm going to require two non-newbie games, since this game will require a certain amount of subterfuge and co-operation.
/Pre-Ins:
With 20 players, that means I'll be accepting 10 /pre-ins.

And for those who are wondering, the town is the Lithuanian Mob, and the "Mafia" is the Russian Mob. Things don't go well for the Lithuanians in between this thread and the Sign-Up thread.

I'll hit the Large Theme Queue sometime after Christmas.

The One Ring survived.
And after all the festivities died and came to a close... the first winter snow began falling, and all the residents of Rivendell realized that they made a grave mistake: they let Gollum sneak away from Rivendell with The One Ring.

Other mysterious events transpired in front of their eyes, yet they were powerless to stop them. One brisk morning a Fellbeast flew away from the pile of dead Mordor and Isengard scum. Re-examining the bodies one more time Elrond Half-Elven of Imladris realizes that
The Witch-King of Angmar
has disappeared. With Sauron’s chief servant missing in action, and the other eight Nazgul un-accounted for, Elrond again summons a council together. He selects a small group of their strongest warriors- men who fought in the last Battle of Rivendell- and sends them on their way to hunt Gollum and destroy The One Ring, once and for all.

In the land of Mordor where The Shadow lies, the eight remaining Nazgul await the return of their Lord and Master. They whisper to each other in the tongue of Mordor, and sharpen their Morgul Blades. The battalions of Orcs are depleted; the allies of Sauron have retreated to the far reaches of Middle-Earth, afraid of both the Unified Kingdom of Gondor and the remaining Servants of Sauron. The wing-beats of a Fellbeast are heard, and a terrible shriek brings the Nazgul to their senses. As the Fellbeast lands, the Nazgul lower their heads for their master.

The Heroes of Rivendell, after scouring the many corners of Middle-Earth, finally corner and kill the vile Gollum, taking The One Ring from its cold, clammy hands.

Gollum, Serially-Killing Survivor, Executed Pre-Game!

The One Ring is heavy, and it calls to the Heroes in their sleep. The sweet voice of Sauron whispers to them of promised power and wealth. But the power of the Elven Rings prevails over them, and they safely bear The One Ring to Mordor. The Black Gates swallowed them like the maw of Carcharoth, and they descended into Mordor. At the slopes of Mount Doom the remaining servants of Sauron convened in a last meeting. The Heroes blended in with them, hoping to execute both the master and the thralls in one fell attack. The power of the Elven Rings bestows on them stealth and speech to disguise themsleves amongst The Enemy. Both Nazgul, Elf, Man, and other form of dark creatures collide in the final batte.

Surrounded by His servants the Heroes play a deadly game.

This is the final battle of Middle-Earth. Should the forces of Mordor fail, The One Ring shall be cast into the fires of Mount Doom and be lost forever, winning the day for the Forces of Light. But if the Nazgul slay the remaining Heroes of Light, then Sauron would awaken, and he will smite all the land in a second darkness.

"And on the slopes of Mount Doom, they fought for the freedom of Middle-Earth."

Welcome to
The Might of Mordor
, a Mini Theme for 12 players that is a pseudo-sequel to the large game Plum and I designed.

The main difference in this game is that the "town" are the Servants of Sauron, and the "mafia" are the remaining Heroes of Light. (So, any "hero" who survived the last game is possibly in this game.)

Expect some odd mechanics (The One Ring is back!), some odd powers, and of course: lots of Nazgul, blood-curling shrieks, Morgul Blades, and the occasional Elf.

Flavor knowledge is not required, though you would do well to have some background on Lord of the Rings. I am going to require previous experience of two theme games, since this will have both odd roles and some odd mechanics.

Encore Mafia: Moderator MayhemPlayers will receive a role from a game they have previously moderated before. Similar to Encore Mafia where players got a role they previously
played
before, but this go-round will be a POV shift.

/Pre-in Requirements:

-->All players must have
moderated
at least two Non-Newbie Games to completion
------>NOTE: Games must be completed to count.
-->Role PMs for your games must be publically available, or else will not be counted. Mod-notes are required.
-->Marathon games do not count
-->Games moderated under a Mod-Hydra (Bilbo Baggins, Reckamonic, Eddard Stark) can either A) Count towards that account as a Hydra-Player, or B) Count towards a player who is playing from that Mod-Account solo. So, dramonic could play Encore as Reckamonic and get only roles from the pool of games Reckamonic has modded (not its constituent members' games) or dramonic could play and get roles from both his games and Reckamonic's games.

Along with your /pre-in please include links to your moderated games, unless you have a wiki page that has them. Along with that you may send in role preferences.

Finally, while there will be no guarantees of a no-vanilla setup, there will be a bias towards giving players interesting non-vanilla roles. I may or may not guarantee a no-vanilla or a some-vanilla game when the game begins.

Darkest Dungeon Mafia

Darkest Dungeon is about making the most of a bad situation. Quests will fail or must be abandoned. Heroes will die. And when they die, they stay dead.

...

The game expects a lot out of you. How far will you push your adventurers? How much are you willing to risk in your quest to restore the Hamlet? What will you sacrifice to save the life of your favorite hero?

- The Opening Warning

FEATURES:
- 13-player Mini Theme
- Delightful party-based RPG about saving the world
- Getting Stressed out
- Definitely not saving the world because you go insane and claw your eyes out
- Will feature one dungeon from the game
- Area Tags
- This game will NOT feature spoilers regarding the Darkest Dungeon level.

/pre-in Requirements:
- At least two (2) or more completed non-newbie games please
