Rules: Adapted from Chesskid3.

General

1. Site-wide rules apply here. Don't think that the fact that I'm modding means that rules of highers-up don't apply.
1a. The numbered rules all apply in my games unless otherwise stated in the Game-Specific Rules section below, should one exist.
2. Do not talk about the game outside of the game thread. Exceptions apply if I give you explicit permission to. Along the same lines, do NOT talk about other ongoing games in this thread.
3. Do not quote anything I send you in the game thread, or vice versa. Paraphrasing is allowed, within reason. If you are confused, feel free to ask me.
4. Keep it somewhat civil. It's a game, and I can understand if things get heated, but there is a line.
4a. Since it is a game, you are expected to play to win. Do not play against your win condition. For example, this means that you are required to read your Role PM.

Voting, Lynching, and Death

5. For votes to be counted, they must be bolded or in vote tags. If you do not vote clearly and in one of these forms, and I miss your vote, it's on you.
5a. Voting No Lynch is also acceptable. If 50% + 1 (rounded down) of players vote No Lynch, nobody will be lynched.
6. Unvotes are highly recommended to make sure I don't mess up your vote, but they are not mandatory. If you choose to do so, please use bold face or unvote tags.
7. When a player receives 50% + 1 (rounded down) of the votes, they are lynched. After the lynch, no votes or unvotes will be counted.
8. Once you die, you are dead. A single “bah” post is allowed if it includes no game content.

Activity and Deadlines

9. This game is a commitment. Try your best to be active.
10. If you do not post for

48

60 hours without declaring V/LA, you will be prodded. After that, you must post in 24 hours or you will risk replacement. Being prodded three times, or twice in a short span, may result in replacement.

This rule was changed on 2/12.

10b. If you post or PM an action after a deadline ends (either for a game phase or for the prod requirement) but before I begin to write up a post or PM regarding it, I will probably accept it. Do so at your own risk, though.
10c. From when roles go out, you will have 48 hours to confirm via PM or in thread (if it is open), or you will risk replacement. Even if the game starts before you can do so, you must confirm anyway.
11. If you will be away for a while, please declare V/LA in thread or by sending me a PM (in which case I will post it in the thread). During this time, you will not be prodded.
12. Deadlines for each game day will be 14 days unless a majority of players ask for an extension (and I grant it) or a player replaces in close to deadline. If the game appears to be moving slowly, deadline might be shortened at my discretion. Deadlines for each night will be 48 hours.
13. If no player has been lynched by deadline, there will be a No Lynch.

Other Information

14. I will use this color (#0000FF) when I mod. Please refrain from using shades of blue.
15. Hydras are permitted in my games, provided that they follow these rules. I reserve the right to deny acceptance of hydras into the game, especially if many hydras are already present.
15a. Hydras are only allowed provided that they have two heads. Three-headed (or more) hydras are not allowed.
15b. The two heads of a hydra must be made common knowledge, and will be put in the opening post.
15c. If one head of a hydra drops out, the other head will be allowed to switch to their main account, keeping the same slot in the game.
16. If I missed or wasn't clear on something, feel free to ask me for clarification, but don't try to exploit it. If you believe that a game or moderation error (such as a botched reveal or a player cheating) has occurred, please contact me PRIVATELY to discuss it.
17. I reserve the right to add more, or clarify existing rules, at my own free will, but the players will be alerted if or when I do so. If necessary, rule changes may be done retroactively.
18. Do not fake violations of rules. Additionally, don't publicly witch hunt if you believe another player has broken a rule.
19.

Any player caught not having fun will be modkilled and laughed off the server.

Have fun!
20. In the event of a severe violation of game rules (including most violations of rule 2 or 3), a player will be forcibly removed from the game by modkill. A phase change may occur if detrimental to the modkilled player's faction. A less serious violation may result in a warning or a forced replacement at the mod's discretion.
20a. The modkill of a town player will end the day, whereas the modkill of a scum or third-party player will not. A modkilled player will have their role changed to Neutral Survivor, and will be ineligible to win the game.
21. All night actions MUST be submitted via Private Message. Submissions over Skype, AIM, PT, or any other method will not be accepted.
22. There is to be no communication using encryption or hard-to-see text. Do not edit or attempt to edit your posts; instead create a second post.

Game-Specific Rules – Timeshift Mafia III

A. Actions will, by default, not be resolved until the next Night phase due to the Timeshift.
B. For background on how the Timeshift mechanic works, please refer to Mini Theme 1411 and 1576.
C. Radja is your backup moderator for this game. He has the role list for this game and will likely be asked to step in for vote counts during a couple mod V/LAs in the next two months.
D. When sending me a PM about the game, please include “Timeshift Mafia” in the title line.
E. The Town win condition is: "You win when all threats to the town are eliminated."

@Ssbm (78): The lynch mechanic works as normal, there's no delay between lynch and death. It only affects actions. Thanks though

i'm not voting LoX, also, i have question - does all night actions are affected by timeshift? Cause i saw some speculations in tread about normal nk and timeshift nk

KainTepes was voting LoX when you replaced him.
All actions, by default, go through one night after they are submitted. Previous games have had roles and/or mechanics that did not obey this rule. I cannot confirm nor deny that this game has any of said roles or mechanics.

This is correct. The same thing happened with Wake88's N1 action to track a player on N2, but he was lynched D2 so it didn't matter.

Modkilling for gamethrowing is widely considered to be accepted on this site because you're expected to play to win. I would have been more likely to force-replace had you not already been about to die. Self-hammering as scum is an accepted move, but self-hammering as town isn't, claiming as town (without self-hammering) isn't, etc.

I didn't want to put in an SK because people were probably expecting one. Both of this game's predecessors featured an SK.

Claiming scum is gamethrowing regardless of alignment. Self-hammering as town vs. as scum kills you so does it matter? There's very little other than self-hammering that is okay for one alignment but gamethrowing for the other.

No, it doesn't because that is a terrible thing to do as either alignment and you'd probably rather not lynch.

Most of the time, but I can think os several unusual cases where it isn't (such as this game). Modkilling for gt confirms the existence of such a situation if there isn't a modkill. Agreed, something better could have happened there. I was still thinking about it when I unlocked the thread, I just figured that I could modkill or force-replace him from an unlocked thread and didn't have any reason to lock the thread. In retrospect I should have realized that when I was locking the thread, not 10 minutes later.

I think that the Timeshift hurts Mafia, honestly, for the same reason as Nightless games: the scum can't take out any claimed PR or player that has their sights set on them without waiting a day.
