Fwiw, anti-swing mechanics can be tricky. Star Fox on MU had where there was a notable mechanical boost given to the scum team for every wolf lynch, and we won the game in substantial part due to bussing the right people at the right time (I say "we" as if I was anything other than a mid game sub who somehow managed to avoid dayvigs and lynches even tho I was close to outed most the time I was alive). It can be useful to try and reduce swing, but so it too much and you risk incentivizing play that would normally be anti wincon.

People basically never listen to someone who self-hammers; once you care little enough about town wincon to do that, people will typically just write you off as a gamethrower and not care at all about what you have to say (barring specific exceptional circumstances where self-hammering is correct).

I was a traitor with a town wincon unless I happened to be NKed, then I'd turn scum wincon

as town, I wasn't going to fakeclaim to stay alive, and if I'd claimed I'd have been recruited to scum, only pro-town option once at L-1 = self-hammer

What could be more fun than randing "SK" without a BP or control of your night kill, presuming that based on your awful powers you might well be the only scum (or maybe there was like a single true SK floating around), and then finding out that there were actually FOUR groupscum

If there's a "best town group" nom, I'd say that it potentially deserves a nom. But the setup was unbalanced and the scum team not that good. Wasn't actually a very good game *shrugs*
(I'd also say the occasional bursts of toxicity takes away from "best game" as a deserving nom but YMMV)

Game quality wise, I'd say it was overall... adequate.

Not an embarrassing stomp, and a mix of good and bad performances by various people on the board
Not the most toxic game of the year (tho it had some moments)
Some mod errors but not a ridiculously large # (sk faction has right to bitch on setup and mistakes tho)

I wouldn't give it a scummy or a razzy. It was... a game that happened, basically. *shrugs*

I'd say trivial mod errors shouldnt be disqualifying (typos etc), but material ones should (I guess barring just an incredibly well played game that overcame mod issues I guess)

If there was a "best collective town" award, it's fair to nom KH for it. It doesn't reasonably qualify for anything else (maybe a scum team razzie or something if they had those too )

"Best town team" should be a scummy, ditto "best scum team". It's not THAT hard to add those categories.

I mean if we're doing real talk, then site town meta is so consistently appalling that there are essentially ZERO players who I think legitimately deserve paragon as it's imagined. And if someone needs to win, the guy who's crushed it ina pretty small sample size is, at least, defensible as a reasonable choice not just for nom but fir winner. If you disagree, I guess come up with a better name?

A pretty big problem with mafia as whole is that there's very little consensus on what "good" or "bad" play is. Like for a lot of things there are people objectively better at some things than other but the lack of metric for it makes it hard to get a sense of whats actually "good" and "bad".

idk, i feel like there are a pretty decent list of things that most people should just consider good play

Any alignment
Have the charisma and thread influence to avoid getting lynched
Have the charisma and thread influence to get the people you want lynched to be lynched

Town
Have good reads
Have the flexibility to react to new information in a productive manner
Encourage productive town behavior (wide discussions, wide focus, low toxicity, putting useful information into the thread without spamming it up and making it unreadable, etc)
etc

Scum
Have bad alignment reads but in a way that doesn't make you outed
Have good PR reads
Find ways to motivate/encourage your team to work together productively
Encourage (subtly or not so subtly) BAD town behavior (overly narrow board focus, making topics you don't want to discuss go away, [I feel like high toxicity, while generally proscum, isn't something I'd really recommend as good scum play *shrugs*], limiting useful information and/or having the thread just spam to badly the useful information gets drowned out)
etc

Note: villagers with high charisma/influence and really shitty reads are absolute poison to a functional town, but in GENERAL it's better to be able to influence things in the direction you want

People who want to see more scummies categories should volunteer to be scummies judges and make it more feasible to have more categories get a sufficiently large amount of attention
