Introducing the New Social Games Forum

Large Social Games such as Survivor have become an increasingly large part of the site. Hundreds of players have played in these games, and dozens are frequent players.

These games are described as:

This queue is for Survivor and other Mish Mash games like it. In general, said games take several months to complete, involve 12 or more players, and require a substantial time commitment from players. The primary mechanic of such games is social interaction between players. They are often anonymous and use an offsite forum for this purpose, but do not have to be. Up until now, the Large Social Game queue existed as a subset of Mish Mash with

as the list moderator. In order to better organize and integrate the queue into our site, a new forum has been created in service of these games. We have added

Haschel Cedricson

as a co-list mod with her.

CuddlyCaucasian

will remain the list mod in charge of Mish Mash.

It should be noted that most of the games themselves are held off-site to enable moderators to customize the player experience, but the games are organized on mafiascum and largely with mafiascum users.

So, what is even going to be in the new forum? Just the queue, archives, and maybe the tips thread?

That's still being worked on, but I wouldn't expect it to become a super active forum on its own. But it'll allow the mods to split off information resources etc. plus potentially add some general survivor discussion. The issue before was that when combined with mush mash, doing too many threads threatens to overwhelm the other game threads. Here, that's not a problem.
