Alright, I've read the thread now. Needless to say, I completely agree that the Jester needs to claim today. Pooky has laid out a pretty good set of reasoning for the Jester to claim, and there's no reason yet that disproves his logic. It's pretty much unassailable.

for his "slip". I'm not going to vote him because it seems possible to me that he could still be town. Personally, I assumed the same thing he did, that tyhess was either town or cult. If he was mafia, that seems way too overpowered, so I never considered it a possibility. That being said, though, I agree with PJ that tyhess should not use his power until later in the game. If he's got solid evidence that someone is scum, he should steal their vote. But otherwise, he shouldn't use it. This way, he's less of a threat to the scum, so he can live longer.

Regardless, though, the mod doesn't have powers to make such a check, but I suppose he could notify mith if he actually thought that was the case. I'd assume that if GS is an alt, Thesp already knows who it is, so your request is completely pointless.

I'm amused that Battle Mage is defending Greasy Spot by saying Pooky's case is illogical while Greasy Spot now agrees with the case that the Jester should claim today. BM is acting like he and GS are kindred spirits in thought process, when their own opinions seem to differ.

Once again, the Jester claiming helps the Jester AND the Jester claiming helps the Town. There is no contradiction here, because there is a third side: the Jester claiming hurts the Mafia. Having someone we know to be not-Mafia helps us in our Mafia hunting, obviously.

In other news, there are still 8 players not voting at all, and I would guess that at least a couple of the other votes are random (too lazy to check). We are now five realtime days into Day 1, and I once against strongly suggest that

everyone make a non-random vote by the time we hit the one rt week mark

I made 11 posts on Thursday and Friday, but I didn't get to all my games. I've been gone since Friday to Louisiana (whoohoo Mardi Gras + Ultimate Tournament!), so I haven't even checked this thread until today. I just simply didn't see your post. In fact, I didn't see your post at all until I went back to see when you had posted it. I just saw other people replying to it.

Personally, I would have been inclined to think you might have been mafia claiming jester, but retracting your claim makes me think it's less likely.

farside claimed on Feb 10th, and Monkey last posted on Feb 11th, then started lurking, it looks like. I don't think there was enough time for Monkey to formulate a plan for reacting to farside's claim. Counterclaim is almost definitely out of the question this early in the game, because that just exposes the real doc to scum. Scum often claim doc for exactly that purpose. No one will counterclaim them, and if they do, it's worth the trade. If Monkey had reacted too strongly or too quickly to farside's claim, it might've been just as bad as counterclaiming.

It's simple. Mafia suggest certain protown people to be the jester, don't kill them, and then lynch them the next day. If the town sticks to the plan, the mafia can keep the jester alive once they figure out who it is, nightkilling them after they get a lot closer to winning by lynching a bunch of protown people.

I think MeMe is smart enough to find the flaw I pointed out. It was the very first thing that came to mind when I saw the plan. It's not like she put it out there without checking it over. She claimed that she couldn't find any flaws, which implied that she had checked it over for problems. I think she was trying to pull a fast one on us, because it does look like a decent plan on the surface.

However, I'm amenable to a farside lynch still, since I think they're both scum. The evidence against farside is definitely more solid, at least.

farside, sadly enough, Beep! Beep! always plays like this. She's a natural Jester. Gives BM's title a run for its money, even. Thing is, though, I think she might act differently if she WAS a jester. I have a pretty good read on her when she's antitown. I've nailed her a couple times as scum, and I've been scum with her in a couple games as well. This doesn't seem like her as scum.

was scum with me, while I remember Cam/Iammars/Has and tried to play around it. Although I guess by the time PJ submitted those lists, both CKD and I were known dead scum, so yeah. Almost didn't see that.

sorry, I just wasn't up to the challenge as much this game. To be fair, I didn't do any lurking on purpose. I very much had a RL excuse for my play in this game. Despite being mafia, I didn't lie about that.
