There's a difference between thinking someone should have won and voting for them to win the game.

I was asked by CC to step in as Large Social Queue mod. I did not have the rights to even post before that. I had a player and a spectator bring this to my attention and then I talked to CC about what was going on and informed him that I had had it brought to my attention and further got information on the situation. There was some miscommunication between the 3 mods where they were not aware he asked me when I posted. It was not actually at Dan exclusively. The wording was too vague from what I understand, and my apologies to Jess for that because having that used against you is not an okay practice and sucks.

So, I've been pretty quiet so far. I just want to say congrats to Reck. I'm sorry your win is clouded with a bunch of "how people should behave" stuff instead of celebrating a well deserved win.

Pretty sure people are tired of hearing me talk, so I'll just take my leave. Good luck to everyone else who is invested in this. Sorry to anyone I offended.

I also dont agree with the "people need to be able to work out their problems for the community to work" thing in the way it's happening. If you have a problem with someone and you have any rapport with them you should contact them one on one and tell them why you're upset at least as a first attempt to fix the situation. People just don't connect with what you're saying about them when you call them out in a public space. Calling someone out in a really confrontational manner immediately after a long game people worked really hard on and cared about 1) distracts from the chance to reflect on the positives of the game that made it worth it in the first place (which is going to be the lasting stuff youll have from the game and a chance to come to terms with your relationships with others and gain a rounded perspective of the game which imo is really rewarding) and 2) actively harms the community

I've been really upset after games. I know it can really suck to feel disrespected by another person in the community. I just am positive that there are way less harmful ways to at least initially try to right a wrong. And I feel like the way it's happening now is actively hurting the community and there is a solution

We're all people and we all fuck up or lose sight of things and do hurtful things. I just feel we should give each other the benefit of the doubt and try reaching out about that before resorting to the sort of implosive stuff that's been happening. Or if you can't do that then sit on it for a day. Mish mash is a great community

And this is different than coming out of a game and being like "haha you fucked up at f9 doing X". This is way more personally tinged and heated stuff thats been coming out post game in public spaces

Look I'm gonna stick to my MO and post about shit without having actually read the topic. So if I'm not really completely responsive or if this came up already just ignore me.

Seems like the fact that after players aren't eliminated in this game, we aren't forced to stick around and watch every move that happens until the FTC like they are live. Means that if you've checked out bitter towards X player, you come back and the last REAL feeling you have about the game is your vote and then FTC. There isn't the time or content to reset like there is live.

Also, the group threads are a complete waste of space (Like TC thread). Everything happens in PM and so even if you want to know whats going on, the Jury online can't read the content of the Tribal Councils. On the one hand, I'm totally fine with the group threads being a joke because this game actually requires way too much time than makes any sense to me and keeping up with a group thread on top of that would be such a pain in the ass, but on the other hand it makes online survivor COMPLETELY different than the in person game. I was surprised when I played my first game that Group PMs werent allowed.

Doesn't seem odd at all that online jurrys are less likely to vote for game changers - The Jury never gets to transfer into audience member, and votes in a player mindset. I didn't know shit about Dan and I felt like Juno didn't do anything interesting in the game so I voted Reck. It would have taken some HUGE move post my elimination for me to vote any other way.

Btw, it fucking kills me that I had such an immediate connection to Hermione and now i find out its Reck. I mean, makes sense I guess cuz hes the only one in the game I know and talk to regularly but I am surprised at myself and him that we found eachother even though it was anon. I did not think it was him at all. Hermione wasn't a dick. Reck I didn't know you had that in you.

altho that's a good point... jury members don't often get the full picture especially since TC questions get ignored all the time on the forums

What medevac did in turning of PMs for large parts of TC wasn't actually really brilliant in that regard.

The TC thread when Abi got idoled is the best TC thread I've ever experienced.

I actually think a lot of what medevac did in terms of pm permissioning and forced-use of shared spaces was really good and should maybe be used more
