In Fickleton, changes in weather are sudden and drastic... and they have a profound impact on Fickleton's oddball cast of citizens! However, with the recent death of the Town Mayor, it has become clear that there is a group of citizens who wish to take over Fickleton, to rule it for themselves. You must stop these evildoers from taking over Fickleton!

Exceptions may be made on an individual basis for players who post in-thread announcing absences ahead of time.

The protown win condition is as follows:

You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.

All scum win conditions are as follows:

You win when your faction gains and cannot lose a majority of the town's population

Weather Mafia Mechanics

The stuff you need to know...

Each day and each night will have a weather condition associated with it. These weather conditions may have an effect on general game mechanics and/or individual roles. I will forecast the current phase's weather condition in addition to the weather for the two upcoming phases in the game's opening post and in each Lynch Scene and Night Scene. The possible weather conditions are as follows:

Sunny

-- The air is warm, the birds are chirping... life is good.

No universal effect during Sunny conditions.

Cloudy

-- It is overcast. Nice and cool, but not the best time to go to the beach or do some stargazing...

No universal effect during Cloudy conditions.

Heat Advisory

-- It is blistering hot outside! Stay cool.

The lynch threshold is reduced by one during days under a Heat Advisory.

Snowy

-- It's snowing! Everything is beautiful outside. Enjoy it while it lasts.

No universal effect during Snowy conditions.

Blizzard

-- It's a whiteout! You can't see a thing in front of you.

No actions may be taken during a Blizzard. Identities of those killed during a Blizzard are not revealed.

Rainy

-- CAUTION: SLIPPERY WHEN WET

No universal effect during Rainy periods.

Thunderstorm

-- Thunder and lightning crash in the background... Scary!

No universal effect during Thunderstorms.

Foggy

-- The thick fog gives off a gloomy air...

Identites of those killed during Foggy periods are not revealed.

1) The changes in weather may or may not be drastic. The one thing I will say is that I have preset the weather conditions for nine full day/night cycles for balance purposes. Weather patterns are not randomly determined in any way.

2) This applies to all forms of death; you will not know the role/identity/alignment of a player lynched under Blizzard or Foggy conditions.

Two things.

First, I was unclear in writing the Blizzard condition. It blocks

all

actions period -- not just those abilities derived from individual roles. (In other words, no groups may kill, recruit, or take any other group action either.)

Secondly, Blackberry is the only person who has not yet confirmed in-thread, but according to my PM records, he has picked up his role PM. So I'm going to go ahead and put the game into night.

Xtoxm flipped on the television, exhausted after a long day of doing basically nothing. It was part of his nightly ritual. Put on the 11:00 news, eat an entire Famly Size bag of Cheetos in half an hour, throw a fist-sized rock at the ceiling to get those damned kids to stop playing Dance Dance Revolution upstairs. All in all, a pretty good life... except on days when he runs out of Cheetos. Just as his Dolphins of the World clock struck Spotted-Dolphin-O'Clock, the familiar set of WFOS-TV News came on.

"Good evening, and welcome to the 11:00 news here on WFOS-TV, Channel 9. I'm Zander Carbuncle, and sitting alongside me is Alex Shiva, who has our top story."

"Thanks, Todd"

"Zander."

"Right. In tonight's top story, a sea otter at the local zoo became a mother today. Thatcher gave birth to a single pup, called Blair. The five year old otter seemed very protective of her newborn son, but zoo officials say she's and Blair are both doing well. Back to you, Tom."

Well, let's kick it over to Bill Ixion, who's covering sports. Bill?"

"Thanks! Big news in the sports world today, as the Fickleton Unalachtigo took on the Montana Mammals. The Unalachtigo managed to scrape out a last-second win, advancing to the playoffs and sending the Mammals into hibernation. Ha ha ha ha! Oh, boy. In ohter news, Barry Bonds' other arm fell off today. He claims that it is not the result of years of steroid abuse or his age. He also states that he's still interested in playing one more year, saying, 'The parts of my body that are still attached? 100%.' Alright, now let's go over to weather, with Griffin Exodus."

"Hey, Bill. Overnight, expect to see Cloudy skies, with mild temperatures. Tomorrow, those clouds should open up and spill some Rain showers throughout the day tomorrow. And as we head into the evening tomorrow, look for the Wind to pick up, with gusts as high as 35 miles per hour. That's all for the weather. Let's kick it back to Alex and Zander."

"...aaaand one last note before we head out tonight, apparently Mayor Orthros was killed. Sucks to be him. For Troy-"

"Right... for Troyzander Carbuncle, I'm Alex Shiva. Goodnight, Fickleton."

Xtoxm licked his fingers clean, and turned off the television. Then he did something quite unexpected. He picked up the phone, made a call to somebody, and rushed out the front door, too busy even to notice the teenagers stomping around above him.

"Triple tall skim vanilla cappuccino!"

konehead strolled over to the counter to grab his drink. He always liked when Ekindu made his drinks. She was the best damned barista in all of Fickleton. As he slurped his foam and made his way to an empty table in the coffee shop, he grabbed the front section of somebody else's newspaper. konehead snapped open the paper and began skimming the articles.

"'Bush Resigns Amidst Steroid Controversy'... boring. North Korean Coup Brings Democracy... whatever. God, the news is so -- oooh! Toucan Sam Incarcerated for DUI!"

While konehead read about the jailbird (pun fully intended), elsewhere in the coffee shop mischief was afoot. Two blokes by the names of Twomz and skitzer were playing a game. The objective was to see who could throw more coffee beans down "that fat lady's cleavage." Skitzer's first shot missed entirely, but Twomz got much closer on his shot. He hit Fat Lady in the eye.

The woman roared and jumped to her feet, clutching her eye and knocking over her table. Her extra hot double soy two pump caramel mochaccino went flying across the room, and it landed directly in konehead's lap.

"Ow, hot hot hot hot!" konehead danced in place and used his newspaper to try to soak up some of the scalding liquid before his sweatpants absorbed it first. While dabbing at his thighs, he noticed the weather report. Rainy today, Windy tonight, and tomorrow there was going to be a Heat Advisory. His eyes drifted down the page, and he noticed one more article of interest: "Famous Video Game Doctor Dies Following Severe Head Wound." konehead frowned. Dr. Mario was gone.
