despite the name "Mr. Brightside" it seems like the exact opposite of the kind of point you're trying to make

Killers songs are not something you really have one fixed interpretation of. Nonsense lyrics are something they do (and are kind-of notorious for), and sure that's *a* possible interpretation of the song (and apparently is the official one), but it's far from the only one. There's enough ambiguity where you can write whatever meaning you want into them. And I feel like that ability to write a spin on things is part of Aristophanes's charm; he can support something that would otherwise superficially be negative, and make it clear he is supporting it because he sees it as a positive thing.

That makes the song reference a perfect fit for his character--the song might officially have a negative connotation with it, but Aristophanes is the type of guy who can put a positive spin on it such that it is a

good

thing, matching the upbeat nature of the song's tune rather than the literal nature of the song's given meaning.

Sorry I don't buy the, "the lyrics are ambiguous that there can be multiple meanings" argument. Without beating a dead horse about it being the official meaning, just read the lyrics. This isn't like...The Trees by Rush or something, it's just a straight forward confession. The second part of the Mastina argument in conjunction with the first, paraphrased, is "Ari consistently ignores the context/meaning of the written word and creates his own interpretation", which is honestly kind of rude.

I got warned for making a joke at Ari's expense with the 4-0 thing, but honestly, is that any more rude than his "friends"(and probably the people who hit report) nominating him for reminding them of a song about a guy who watched his girlfriend kiss another man, than racks himself with jealously/paranoia all night and every night since the incident but then keeps pretending that nothing is wrong, hiding behind a forced cheery disposition? I may of made a joke at his expense, but you guys are making a "serious" at his expense and patting yourselves on the back for it, it's very bizarre.

or not, but I agree wholeheartedly. The song is literally an ode to the cheery blue sky after a bunch of rainy days(it's also the final act in Concerto for a Rainy Day). Ari, to me, is an INCREDIBLY cheerful guy, regardless of the situation. He never really takes anything in a bad light, including my 4-0 joke, at least not publicly. Any post I've ever read by the guy has been bright and cheery, and especially among the grey, disgusting muck that makes up most of MS, it's honestly a great change of pace. Someone who seems genuinely happy and enjoying everyone's company, He IS the blue sky, it's not a forced/fake dispostion.
