Haven't nuzlocked in a few months, and never actually finished a game, so I think I'm gonna try to marathon through FireRed this week.

OKAY UPDATE BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP

Decided to continue nuzlocking FireRed, not doing any extra rules in exchange for not using the speed up button. I've realized I feel more proud if I play through the game without hyper speeding through grinding. ANYWAYS I decided to choose Charmander, since I usually go with Squirtle, and grass types are everywhere. Also, Charmander makes the early game harder I guess. SOOO I just beat Brock, and now I'm about to go into Mt Moon.

Fuego, Brave Charmeleon, Lv. 16
Basil, Adamant Rattata, Lv. 15
Mojo Jojo, Quiet Mankey, Lv. 15
Heimlich, Brave Butterfree, Lv. 15
Louie, Lax Nidoran M, Lv. 6

All of them are named after cartoon characters pretty much. Basil is from The Great Mouse Detective, Mojo Jojo is the monkey from Powerpuff Girls, and Heimlich is the caterpillar/butterfly from A Bug's Life. Lou was the porcupine in Over The Hedge, but Louie sounded better.

I guess I'll go back to Viridian Forest tomorrow morning to grind up Louie. He has Peck, which is very helpful, and I won't have to waste any Antidotes on him, added bonus. I love my team so far though, the natures aren't terrible (they're almost all speed-lowering) and Basil's is PERFECT. <3 I probably will have to let go of Heimlich soon, but I hope I can make the other 4 longterm buddies (i hate calling my Pokemon bros)

I feel ya on that one. I just realized the strongest move Clefairy learns by level-up is Pound, unless I want to wait til the mid-40s for Meteor Mash >.> The move tutor for Body Slam is post-E4, so I guess I'll have to teach him Mega Punch.

Dammit, Mankey got killed at full health from a crit Low Kick ;-; I can never keep those guys alive. My team looks really bad now without him :/

ani and I are running a nuzlocke on black, no bought items starting tonight/tomorrow

ruleset:
1) If a pokemon faints it dies.
2) Can use PC
3) Cannot buy items. After you beat the e4, you may buy from the mart pokeballs only.
4) Only catch the first pokemon (that you don't already have) on each route that you encounter.
5) No walkthroughs
6) Catch a legend (Title mon, musketeer trio, roaming)

Since the last update, my Vibrava, Walrein, and Stoutland died. I caught an Absol named Michelle that I raised from Level 37, but she died at Level 50.

holy fuck i just beat Colress, Kyurem, and Ghetsis without losing any Pokemon. Leavanny got hit with a critical hit Foul Play from a Krookodile and survived with only 2 HP left, gave me a heart attack

I never expected to use Mamoswine or Gothitelle tbh but they were great. <3 Leavanny has always been my favorite gen 5 pokemon so that one was obvious

I'm finally actually doing a lot in my Pokemon X nuzlocke!!! Just three deaths so far (something low-leveled, Tyrunt , and Braixen just three levels before final evolution )

I'm actually maintaining 7 active Pokemon since I couldn't make up my mind on which to leave out! Gifs of my current team below, all at level 39



It's my first time ever using Nidoking, Crustle, and Granbull whatsoever. I kinda had no idea what to expect but I love all of them, especially Crustle.

well my Absol died but i have 6 badges now

there are so few places to get Pokemon, i got a Weepinbell but that's kinda worthless with a Venusaur on my team

Okay it's gotten to the point where my team is so strong now that it's boring. I keep trying to catch new things to train up just so I have something else to do fighting all these rando trainers, but Jynx/Pumpkaboo suck and they died to one hit. My first encounter in the Lost Hotel was an Electrode but it broke out of my Ultra Ball then used self-destruct. -_- Luckily Granbull is great and it only did like 15 HP's worth of damage lmao. I did catch a Klefki though that I guess I'm gonna try to use just for the hell of it. I want an Electric or Fire or Flying type
