I don't see KC at all. Alex Smith is their starter and that isn't changing. I don't agree with Poker that they need a change at QB to win the Super Bowl. What they need is to re-sign or somehow replace Berry, for Houston to stay healthy, and their RBs to stay healthy. A true #1 WR would help too.

Nero, the Browns are a little high on your list. If they wanted a short term bridge kind of QB, they wouldn't have cut Mccown. Not to compare Romo to Mccown because that would be an insult to Romo, but I think they want a long term answer whether that's Kessler, Griffin, Watson, Gorropolo, or someone else. Romo doesn't meet their interests.

I also don't see Minnesota or Jacksonville. Bradford has the job for at least 2017. After that, maybe they look to do something big in case Bridgewater doesn't come back strong from the injury. Jacksonville is being thrown around in these QB discussions, but I think Bortles gets one more year at the very least. You don't bring in a guy like Tony Romo in their situation. If they add a QB, it's a veteran that you don't have to go all in on or a rookie who needs time to develop.

Romo wants a place he can start and go to a superbowl with. Only teams that fit that bill are DEN and KC

Poker, the Broncos are not a playoff team with their current roster. The defense from Super Bowl 50 has slowly started to crumble. They are still solid, but won'tcarry a team into the playoffs the way they did that year. It's a miricle they were close in 2016. They need to figure out QB. It seems like they want Paxton Lynch to win the starting job, but the uncertainty needs to fade. And the same is true with their RBs. Who is going to play what role in the running game? None of this means they don't have the tools to succeed, but they have a lot of work to do and they need to do it quickly in a division with the Chiefs, Raiders, and yes even the Chargers. Even if they figure everything out, it's hard to see them passing the Chiefs and Raiders right away which your predictions seem to show.

I answer no, so I agree. KC with Romo is a Super Bowl contender. Denver absolutely not. The Jets have a lot of changes to make before they're a playoff team. Romo alone doesn't do it. And the Texans need to change their whole offensive playbook. It doesn't even matter who is throwing the ball for them at this point.

Yeah, they definitely had their fair share of injuries, but they weren't a real playoff caliber team anyway. They overperformed in the firs month and a half or so, but once the schedule got tougher, they just couldn't keep up. The QBs both played fine most weeks other than the kinds of mistakes you expect from a young QB. Some consistency in the running game would do more for their offense than an upgrade at QB would. They seem to really want Lynch to be their guy anyway, so signing Romo probably isn't as likely as we all think it is.

Jennings' issue with the Giants was simply the offensive line. He isn't anything special anyway, but not many RBs would succeed in NY without being able to catch passes regularly.

I kinda think they have other needs they should be focused on:
- re-sign Carr and Mack
- grab a top tier corner
- improve the MLB position
- sign a RT to replace Watson
- consider upgrading at slot WR

Their line is good enough for some no name RB to do fine, so why take a high cost gamble on AP? And if they do want to spend money on the position, why not just bring back Murray? But it's still AP so if he's got something left in the tank, he'd be fun to watch.

I keep hearing Martellus Bennett's name too and it's kind of the same thing. TE isn't a need and he won't come cheap but man is that an upgrade.

I can't really see the Chiefs going worse than 10-6 and even that is the very worst they could do. The Titans would be overacheiving with that record.

Mariota is pretty solid, but doesn't have many weapons to use. The Chiefs are MUCH better than the Titans on defense. They are more explosive on offense. They can beat probably anyone in the AFC except maybe New England. I'm just not confident making the same statement against the Titans.

The defense, since 2015, has lost Travathan, Williams, Jackson, Ware, Webster, Ward, and Ray. Sure, they still have a top 10 defense, but it's not good enough to carry a below average offense anymore. If Siemian continues to develop really well, his WRs are good enough to work with. But the line has weak spots and the running game looks set up to be downright abysmal. Even on defense, I don't like their line or depth at any position. They probably won't finish with a winning record.

Next game will be Hundley's first start. There is a huge difference between having a whole week to prepare knowing you are the starter and being thrown in mid-game. Yes, a backup SHOULD be ready to play at all times. But in reality they usually aren't. So his stats, while not entirely meaningless, are worth somehwat overlooking to this point. But yeah, if he's absolutely terrible over the next 2-3 games, they should bring someone in. Maybe Kaepernick, maybe not. But McCarthy was clear that Hundley gets the first shot so Kaepernick probably won't be willing to sign right away anyway.

I don't think Eli was that great but I do think he was better than most people think he was. I'm using past tense because I think he's done being a serviceable starter. I have low expectations for him if he goes to Jacksonville or wherever. He's like Favre. He got away with the INTs (sometimes) in people's minds because he made crazy plays once in a while. He doesnt do that anymore so now people view him as an old, washed up INT machine. Unfortunately, that isn't too far off. That being said, next year's starting QB for the Giants isn't on The roster so why even bother benching him? The only exception is if someone honestly believes Webb has a shot at the job. Or Geno for that matter but...really?

We have a large sample size for Eli's career and like I said, he's always thrown INTs, just it gets overlooked because of the positive things he's done. He stops doing those things, the INTs don't get overlooked anymore. He's pretty much always had a bad o-line and made things happen anyway. I don't think anyone is saying it's Eli's fault the Giants are a mess. Just he's an older player not playing well and it's hard to see him being successful somewhere else.

Dak is young enough and got off to a good enough start that no one wants to write him off over a few bad games. He gets a chance to prove it's just a bad stretch and nothing more.

Lights out? He played pretty well against New England. He played decent enough in the first half against Pittsburgh. And he was pretty bad against Buffalo.

Well, they could definitely afford to upgrade then. The defense doesn't need to change much (assuming they keep a couple of key free agents) so it comes down to offense. They get a healthy WR core back (hopefully) and are solid at RB. So your options are line depth, a big name WR across from Robinson (or to replace him if he leaves in free agency), or a QB change.

Another option with Henne leaving is to do something similar to what Kansas City did this year. Go make a move and get a QB you believe could start for you, but leave Bortles as the starter and see if that motivates him to play better. If it doesn't, make the change.

Apparently the NFL told the Raiders they could have a favorable ruling on the Rooney Rule situation if they agree to sign Colin Kaepernick.

I took it as a joke at first but legitimate reporters are talking about it now.

If its true...

Kaepernick isn't a fit for a team who is already paying a franchise QB ridiculous money, especially when he's gonna ask like $20m a year and a starting job and he'd have all the leverage in the world.

Also this situation was so different from most. It wasn't an open search. There was no one, yes including white guys, who had a shot at this job. The opening was only created because Gruden was willing to come back. If anyone should be upset, it's Del Rio, not the black coaches who were never given a shot. Race has nothing to do with it. White coaches didn't have a shot either.

And if this is seriously how Kaepernick finally gets his shot, you're basically implying that either:
- black players aren't good enough to get a job on their own so you have to force teams to take them or
-the league DID collude and this is the best damage control they could come up with.
