Sorry I don't buy the, "the lyrics are ambiguous that there can be multiple meanings" argument. Without beating a dead horse about it being the official meaning, just read the lyrics. People can nominate titles and discuss for/against, but no nths and stuff. Then the mysterious council of title fairies meets on a day to discuss a nominated title, and then they hold a secret vote, with majority yes/no passing or failing the nomination.

Still think just abolishing the title fairy all together is the better option. Adding a subscription to MS where you can choose your own title, get a slightly bigger avatar, maybe add img to your sig, for like 2 bucks a month or something. It would only increase the amount of money that goes into the site and would be incentive for more people to donate, instead of it just being a small number of large donations. A precedent for this would be the MS cards. People bought the fuck out of those cards, and to my knowledge it didn't lessen the amount of incentiveless donations.

How is that pay2win? You aren't winning anything. If you are willing and able to give some cheap ammount of $ a month, you get special privileges. Just like twitch channels give you special emotes if you subscribe. You are supporting the site. It's a nice thing. A good thing, literally nothing toxic about it.

It gets rid of literally every bad thing of the current system. The toxic arguments between who deserves what for what, about how title fairy isn't doing his job, about what titles were good/bad/need to be changed. It also eliminates this idea that people get titles because they are "gifts from the community" when that's just not true. Anyone with 5 friends can get a title, and that's typically how it goes. Someone's friends nominate the title, other friends say yes, title fairy goes "well, there's nothing wrong with it, ok" boom. It simply skips the middle man and messy social aspect of the whole process.

pedit: Idk, I'm sure Chamber or Kison could script it to just change it back automatically, but that's not something I can say with certainty and would require someone with far more knowledge than I have.

If by "friend" you mean "people that like you" (I don't really count you online only guys as my "friends" sry) then sure, you arguably do need five people who like you to get a title, but let's face it, it's incredibly difficult to be an active member for more than a couple of months and not have five people who like you. Therefore, the 5 nths serve as a process to make sure the title itself is good for the person. 5 people does not a popularity contest make.

Perhaps that is not the best of wording. What I more mean there is more or less that you can be a great user with a strong established site presence, and be the type of person when a title is suggested to receive the reaction of "A title for this user WOULD be nice, but what was suggested isn't good enough", essentially.

As in, there is a

for the scummer to receive a title, but in spite of the desire, no suitable title has materialized for them. RadiantCowbells is an excellent example of that model for me; he's had at least two or three attempts to title him which lasted for long periods and the general consensus was exactly that--"He could have a title, but not these titles because these titles aren't good enough", basically.

If I had to give it a succinct definition, it'd be:
"Scummers who are the same type of scummer as scummers who already have titles, yet do not possess one".

So that creates a feeling of, they "should" have a title; they "deserve" a title.

Obviously nobody's inherently deserving of a title or really entitled to one, but it makes a quick shorthand for point of reference. (It's easier to say "RadiantCowbells should have/deserves a title" than it is, "RadiantCowbells is the type of scummer who would have a title yet he currently does not possess one and my desire is for that to change".)

It's not that the titles weren't good enough, it's that they were lionizing him for being a toxic player in mafia games, something which he has been banned for on numerous occasions.

I feel like you guys are just railroading in another bad Alisae title to replace the current bad Alisae title. Both titles are following pretty similar paths: same people running up the nth count, both based on a joke Alisae is running into the ground and hasn't been funny lately so it's probably not gonna hold lasting value, and both are not "perfect titles but good enough".

I feel like in 6 months we're gonna be getting the same song and dance to get Alisae a 3rd title.

Also, I'm not a title historian but aren't sleepo, Shea, and I the only people in site history with 2 titles? I feel that club should be more exclusive than "let's give this guy a second title because the title that we railroaded 6 months ago sucks now"

I'm not sure that anyone but you sees the title system in the same way that you do and I wouldn't want them to.

Personally I disliked Bright Knight but think that lolbalance is fitting on several dimensions of their character.

both titles suck and as soon as Alisae stops saying lolbalance, lolmods, ect it'll be evident and he'll be requesting a new title. Titles are a gift from the community, not a "get your friends to bestow upon you whatever you want because you want soemthing" He returned his gift. RC's title suggestions were/are expressly against the rules, it has nothing g to do with whether people like him or not. His title is basically "this guy is a pick when he plays mafia and he's been banned for it hahaha we're memeing".
