but how does that translate to alban town?

i would think that means that alban could be late-game lynchbait town (that phrase doesn't make sense but i think you get my point) or scum if it's a town motivated wagon from that - meaning my conclusion from the get-go would be "i need more data"

so i don't get the thought process here

Sure, that stuff is possible and cannot be known for a few days. Most of the time, this wagon structure means Alban town. Any post in the game could be something else, and my predecessor thought alban town too.
