It's been 48 hours with no response from RedCoyote. Since there was no official policy on deadlines, I'm now making an official policy that people will be prodded after 24 hours, and get counted as giving an incorrect answer after another 24 hours. This time, I'll go ahead and let SC give an answer for RC on this board, but from now on the policy described will be in place for everyone.

Unfortunately, that puts you ahead of Vijarada and Xalxe, so you need Ceph and Fen to give a high-scoring answer to get you through to the head-to-head.
Question

The first Soviet Union leader
The largest lake in Russia
The last Soviet Union leader
Mikhail Gorbachev (32)
The lowest point in Russia
The official name for the country
The second-largest city in Russia

Fenrir, you need a score of 48 or better to move on. That shouldn't be too hard, right?

so I feel like the first soviet union leader might be Stalin, the largest lake might be Baikal, the lowest point in the Caspian Sea, the official name being the Russian Federation, but I'm about equally confident in all of these answers, which is not much. And now I'm questioning pretty much all of them so I guess it's yolo time
You're really gonna be kicking yourself over this one. The correct answer was Vladimir Lenin, but it wouldn't have scored low enough to put you through. However, you had all 3 of the other answers correct, and any one of the three would have given you a low enough score to move on.

Ceph and Fen, you clearly knew the right stuff, but sometimes that's only half the battle. I do hope you play again, as you've once again gone out too soon.

It's time for the first head-to-head! You are now allowed to confer privately with your partner. Since RC and SC had a lower combined total through the first two rounds, they'll give the first answer in the first head-to-head question.

queen victoria died in 1901. we're going with that one. lincoln died in 1865, great fire of london was in 1666, i didn't know the last one but xalxe thinks it's 1812.
I can only assume that people listed the wrong century for the great fire of London, that was the one I was most confident in as an already eliminated contestant.
because my first thoughts put all the answers in the 1900s
