We used to require manual administrative activation of accounts flagged like yours was, but we changed it about a week or two ago to allow the registration to go through, but limit where you can post until the account is marked properly. It's not perfect but is an improvement over what we had before. The next step is to let people manage their alt accounts so no administrative intervention is required.
