If it happens on a stage, it's a play as far as I'm concerned.

So a concert is a play? :)
If *actors act with other actors in front of an audience that paid money to be there* on a stage, it's a play. Better? lol

So a free performance of Shakespeare In The Park isn't a play?
Well, that's not the
exclusively
the definition, but if those things take place then it counts as a play to me.

I've never heard of anyone aside from Ceph and NM that doesn't consider musicals falling under the umbrella description of plays. I mean, you go to the theater to see a musical. You get a playbill. Live actors are performing for you. Even Merriam-Webster got you on that one. Maybe this is some sort of technicality that only niche, hardcore theater-goers and thespians are aware of, but I've always considered plays = live theater. Period. Singing or not.

I mean, do you take this approach toward film as well? If the film is a musical it cannot be technically called a 'film'? Should musicals be listed on imdb? etc

No one can tell me this isn't the greatest Mish Mash game ever. The results are always so much fun to see... I don't know exactly why? There's something so satisfying about this game, imo. Like, more than most games.

To be honest, that limitation is ruined by this question.
You're being hyperbolic. No one playing this game is so culturally inept as to never have heard a celebrities name on an electronic device of some kind (phone, tv, tablet, radio, etc). If you're going to be that hard headed, go to yahoo.com and choose the first three names you see.

Bah, I replaced Password for Ferris Wheel because I didn't think that many people were aware of Password. I'm not surprised it scored that low though. That as kind of my longshot. I was surprised Loaded Questions scored that low though.

Gamma, you interpret the question in the way that you think will be the most popular (not necessarily the most accurate/technical). PM your answer to Xalxe (and only Xalxe). Once the deadline hits, he'll post all the results as well as a new question.

If it had more people playing, I'd be with you. I don't know if many people even realize it (or Password) is based on a game show though as it could very easily come across as just a standard word game.

I almost put WWTBAM over Deal, but I figured Deal was more modern. I'd bet big money if you surveyed teenagers today more could name Deal than WWTBAM.
