i for one found it obnoxious and offputting when we had the whole forum changed to a different theme for a day

april fools is supposed to be convincing someone of something and calling them out on it (an april fool) when they believe it

pie was in on it, everyone was in on it

some of the things being said were so goddamn absurd i thought it was obvious we were doing a "take something obviously farcical too seriously" thing

people's usernames were changed to pink and puke green and even white at different times
admins were changing each other's permissions

i think it was pretty funny. but i also think that uncanny valley uncomfortable weirdness tinged with reality is way funnier than LOL EVERYONE LOOK OUR SITE HAS A DIFFERENT CSS FOR THE DAY or LOL GUYS ISN'T IT FUNNY HOW WE MENTIONED THE TIGERS

For what it's worth, the bans were pretty funny. But Reck stirring the shit was not funny at all. Not because it didn't seem like a joke, which it did at first - but because of the insistence that no, this is not a joke, and Reck really is flying off the deep end, and he's refusing to get the moderators' April Fools gag. There was no tact or nuance to it, no punchline, no release at all - just completely genuine-sounding, utterly unjustified rage.

Seriously, Reck. Dude. That was embarrassing, and I'm disappointed that you're still defending this shit.
