@Yesiree: All I care about re:setup spec is that people understand to play their cards close to their chest and I want to be able to understand how the whole passing off/lending the Death Note works. Revisiting this point. Given people's alignment may only change one way (town => cult), it's beneficial to get as much of a baseline from everyone on day 1 as possible, to make discerning this alignment change easier afterwards.

I just had an epiphany about this. Something about this irked me, but I didn't know why at the time. Now I realized - it remains unclear where the DN lands if passed away temporarily, and the original owner is lynched. my read on random started off pretty null for quite some time after he replaced. He wasn't doing a whole lot, but nothing from him made me lean either way.

He started to ping me from day 2 for two reasons - the first being his entire day 2 play revolved around this read he got from "end of day [1] voting", (1svt unvoting me and Elena voting kuroi) which was to supposed to put 1SVT as town and Elena as scum. The second being he defended CA with the claim that his setup spec is NAI while pushing Elena.

Keep in mind that all this time 1svt has been a scumread for me. This hasn't changed since the unvote from end of day 1. This read was much stronger than the pings from random on day 2, and it remains to overshadow my read on everyone else.

It continues to carry over to start of day today. From this position it's not hard to read 1svt vs random as scum vs town, upon first glance.

I'm confused by your sequence. I think we know:

N0: Recruit Pea
N1: Pass to Pea
N2: Recruit/pass
N3: Recruit/pass
N4: Recruit/pass

Where at least one of N2 and N3 is "pass". Leaving up to 3 scum.

And even that relies on the assumption that passing does actually take a night (as we don't know how a temporary pass works). That is uncertain, particularly as we've lynched two scum who weren't hugely obvious lynches the day before.

I think the scum are likely to be in Grey/rm/yess. I'm not super-convinced by rm being clear for exercising his ability; all we know is that TB *thought* they would lose it if culted; who knows if that was right. However, rm seems a somewhat unlikely DN holder. I think the cult would most likely park it with yess or Grey.

1) mason claims can't (near impossible) be challenged

2) only counter to claimed mason(s) is to kill (when recruiting is the more optimal night action)

3) limits recruiting targets

4) makes PoE towards end game trivial
