15) Unvotes are appreciated, but not required to change your vote.
16) When a majority is reached, they player voted will be lynched.
17) If the deadline is reached without a majority, the player with the most votes will be lynched.
18) If multiple players have the same number of votes at deadline, the player who arrived at that number of votes first will be lynched. If the number of votes is 2 or less, a no-lynch shall occur.

19) No talking about the game outside of the game thread and relevant Private Topics.
20) Once you are dead, do not break the theme! You may not post anymore.

Cult of Kira: Death Note Mechanics

The Death Note mechanics are as such:

1) When the Death Note Holder is lynched, the cult disbands; town wins.

2) The Death Note can be used to recruit, or to kill, but not both in the same night, and not with more than one target in the same night.
3) The Death Note can be passed off temporarily (for one night) without preventing the Death Note from being used to kill or recruit that night.
4) The Death Note can be passed off permanently, however no Death Note actions may be taken on that night.

5) The Cult of Kira may recruit during pregame; the size of the Cult of Kira will begin at 2 on Day 1.

Another particularly grungy night. A scummy city in a scummy country on a scum-ridden planet.

A book falls from the sky, black and tattered.

A person walks down the sidewalk, then stops, and looks down at a puddle. "Fuck this place..." All it ever does is rain.

The shadowy figure of a human continues, on the way to nowhere in particular. As they look up, they are struck between the eyes by what appears to be garbage.

"What the fuck......" It didn't appear to be thrown. Nobody was out, and all the windows were closed. It was too heavy and too wet to have been blown. The figure looked at the cover.

Death Note

The figure laughed..... what kind of silly thing this was. "Write the name of the person you wish to kill," it says. "Ah shit," the person says. With a hint of doubt and a gleam of madness, the human reached for their pen...

Laughing softly to themselves, the human wandered home. Their apartment smelled musty, and the ceiling was leaking over their desk.

But the TV was on.

It was all over the news.

The town's mayor, Ned Harland... the perverted, twisted, vulgar man...

On his desk, under his head, that he had just written before his fatal heart attack...

All key suspects rounded up. Discussion among them have been talking, trying to get to the bottom of this.

Some were dismissed from the investigation, others brought in. Ultimately, we are no closer to finding Kira.

Yesterday ended with a lynch on KuroiXHF, the first one since the Kira killings began. That lynch was awful. There is probably exactly one member of the Cult of Kira in Elena Fisher and 1 Shot Vanilla Town. Yesiree should be lynched today. If he flips cult 1 Shot Vanilla Town is also cult, and if he flips town, Elena Fisher is cult. This should work because I highly doubt he will be recruited night one. We think it likely this is our Kira, though.

Elsewhere, a shadowy figure stared down at the world. His friend, dead.

He picked up his notepad, and began to write. "Crystal Allies", he wrote.

The new Kira's reign has come in like a mouse, with many fearing that it would begin to roar like a lion.

So far, it hadn't. No new deaths since the first Kira has passed...

Police Report: Day 5 of the Kira Investigation

The day went by as the others had. An investigation was happening, after all!

But today was different. Everyone seemed confident one part of the group was not Kira. And perhaps they were right.

They looked around, and the few that were not sure of were falling in line. The end was coming close.

On a whim, they looked to randomidget. With little resistance even, randomidget gave in.

He sat there, looking at the group surrounding him, laughing.

He was cornered.

He knew it.

He lost it. He sat there, laughing uncontrollably, as his eyes glazed over.

His god was dead.

The police closed in, and cuffed him.

Everything matched. This was what killed some of the town.

Death God mechanics. I figured this game would be swingy balanced but in the end I feel like it was town favored.

In the future I might change the DN passing a bit and probably make it a large theme. I really like this setup though and would definitely run something similar again.

What 1svt said - I had that vote count fuckup where I had it that kuroi was to 4 votes first on day 1, but it was actually yessiree. Kuroi was the pi, the only investigative role in the game, so I had to compensate for town a little.
