He also invited me to play this game, I was not initially signing up because it is "II" and I didn't play the first in the series and I'm a bit of a stickler for "watching, reading, playing, experiencing things in order", and if I missed out on the 1st, I figured no point in playing the 2nd. When I talked to him about this he explained to me that "Defiance Mafia" simply meant that it defies all things standard in mafia.

So I go from there, what are standards in mafia. What are the basic standards in mafia? 1.) multiple factions (town and mafia and 3rd parties including jesters, lynchers, SKs, and survivors) with varying win conditions with (except for jestersy, survivors, and lynchers) only 1 of the factions being able to win, and you acheive winning by eliminating the other factions/players who go against your ability to achieve your wincon.

so I ask myself a.) how do you defy those standards and b.) how do you defy those standards without making it explicitly obvious to everyone playing the game that defying those standards is the hidden goal?

- you give everyone an appearance of being of different factions with different win conditions setup in such a way that perhaps they can figure out the ultimate way for EVERYONE to win defies all standards of mafia, what does that mean? that we all can have peace and win together, how do you do that? by no lynching on D1 (the last thing anyone pretty much ever wants to do openly on D1)
