I have some notes to make after inspec about game balance and setup design. I'm sorry for an error that was in one of the role pms that I made before my ban.

tldr; Mafia could win the game if they could control the cop check by leading it to another dream or by using preception and kicking mechanics (if they coul leave one of their members in above threads) the main idea for game balance was set around that idea.

Yeah that IMHO is a problem. Infinite cop check means cop gets townread scum can do nothing about it and can infinitely check or get 4-5 conf towns. The only viable strategy was suicide and Almost50 was never not scumreading me and as Town leader fucked. In Shadowrun I could convince JaeReed to another person because of how things were setup and done and everyone was an option but here mass popularity cop meant something different. I think 1 shot cop okay limitless unkillable cop with infinite flips literally lynch all but cop GG.

The thing is it wasn't suppose to be infinite cop check.

It should have been a layer 3 check not layer 2 check (and in my mind apparently as I can't find anything related in setup design thread - it was one shot).

The thing is with maximum 50% prexeption mafia couls easily remove him and hide the fact he was a cop -etc

though how does mafia remove the cop without revealing themselves in doing so? one mafioso would also need to sacrifice.

When the game was halted, inspec tried to contact a listmod to see how he could fix the game breaking situation of infinite cop checks. as mafia had no factional ability he gave them the ability to eliminate someone with <=10% perception as that was the same counter effect to him using cop in dream layer 3.

Mainly if it was level 3 he didn't have enough to get back up. So it would be suicide to get a true result. But it would be negative EV for Town as you are trading the life of a confirmed cop for the life of someone who is not confirmed and thus unlikely to make your townblock succeed.

Town really didn't play that well.

Sure, a handful of people suspected Hiraki and math, but we also suspected EAP, fuzzy, etc. And no one even remotely suspected gerry.

If you're talking about mechanics-wise, then ok, but I don't think the game should be so townsided even if town gets mechanics right.

I was watching the game closely. In this game Mafia - Town compassion - town played way better than mafia. never said town played top notch.

PEdit: FA, the problem was that the people who were the scummiest were sent lower. So even if scum had a member that was widely townread, they'd have to sacrifice that player in order to kick.

Well, I admit that with the latest changes we made on setup I'm not mathematically saying it was 50-50

the thing is in this game mafia had no member in above threads = means no generally townread or mechanically laziness. if in this mafia had a a l1 member the game was over 2 days ago with mafia win when you guys went to layer 3.

You guys weren't conf scum to us though. We still had to cop you and hiraki was largely an info lynch for me.

Thats the thing that went wrong

information should be kept secret. that made the game unbalance a little bit.

@inspec : you did great, I just wished if you guys had more time when running this.

The game was far away from what I had in mind - perfection wise I try to make sure that won't be the way my games will end if I ever mod any

I'll put it this way: if there was even a little suspicion on gerry town probably would've won without the cop.

It wasn't that imbalanced that you're telling this like a fact I call this 60-40 in favor of town and that's enough balance imo, mafia has to use deception and skills

It was very limited - would only effect a dream forward and couldn't be targeted on them self.

all the roles were completely distributed randomly and no affliction was town or mafia by its own so fake claims means nothing

but I have to agree that maybe one more scum would do better as it was in intial setup. I think we changed it after someone said no night games are mostly in favor of town and then the game was totally flipless.
