i'm not getting from A to B here, help
Kuribo claimed to have received two guns before today.

The only days where we can even pretend there's a strongman in this game are Nights 3 and 4. The same number of guns Kuribo had.

We could theoretically assume scum used a strongman on Night 2, but we have no idea since Fedora didn't protect Tammy.

I'm not saying Kuribo is scum (although I'm definitely thinking it), but explaining why Fedora can be and is probably just scum.
what on earth does the number of guns have to do with that

also redirectors are really just a bad role and shouldnt be used outside role madness games that dont pretend to make sense

plus its actions dont make sense

plus your earlier point about how the mods have had redirectors work in the past (though i guess this is a point in favor of them throwing one in for the lols)

you will notice i am indeed voting vax!

I was talking about how kuribo just voted grey, how you're telling people to vote grey, and how cephrir is deluding over how he might've MISSED GETTING A FRUIT VENDOR.

I am a Town Self-Inflicted Negative JOAT.

I have a series of five powers, which I must use compulsively and non-consecutively. Specifically, I eat babies. I have to choose a different kind of baby to eat every night, and each kind of baby (Jews, Catholics, Muslim, Atheist, or Asian) gives me a different negative utility. For example, eating a Jew baby makes me
Hated

All but one of these

Eating a Muslim baby makes me Ascetic for the night and a Supersaint the next day

In summary, I have to choose a different restriction every night, none of which really hurt anyone but me. I will be up front every day start about which one I picked.[/b]

my best guess at the scumteam right now is SAD/[Majiffy or Grey]/[Pine or hiplop but Pine's more likely]

Yes that's more than half the playerlist but it makes SAD a solid lynch today. Majiffy and grey both is a possibility too i guess, id be the first to cheerlead if the mods did that just to give neighbor spec the finger

Are you truly not capable of understanding that this post is a response to your own claim? can you not understand that it is possible for something to be a question if it does not have a question mark? I was pointing out that your claim was contradicting what Kise was claiming.

This might be the dumbest thing I've seen in this game

right, 2/3 of you being scum seems very likely at this point

which is why whoever's scum in that group needs to find a mislynch outside it to avoid automatically losing

Like I said last time you brought it up, I freely admit than I've lacked motivation and not scumhunted incredibly hard. You wanna make a point? I wouldn't agree that I haven't done any, though, I just haven't felt like being forceful. I had a pretty good scumread on Fedora but stopped pushing it because no one cared after their saves started dying

Why would I be disinterested as scum? First of all being scum is innately interesting. Apathetic town is textbook me. Scum were presumably doing pretty well in this game until recently, so what's to be disinterested about? I got demoralized because I'm town, haven't been able to tell all the fuckwits from the scum, and felt like we had no chance

There were too many people in this game who needed to die and I tend not to feel I have much agency until the game shrinks. You can't really attack me for not having real opinions AND also for not wanting to vote grey yesterday which is an opinion. Like I said then, it didn't feel right. That's townhunting, at least.

maybe i'm still 10 years old at heart but it's hard for me to care as town unless i either have a strong investigative role or feel like my reads are really good. if i dont have much confidence ive started moving towards not doing anything and trying to have a little fun in the background over talking about how i have reads but don't believe in them. it's unnecessary effort that only serves to look town.

+ I get the feel that you're not disinterested as scum, you're disinterested in scumhunting. You're around at time as come in and vote people and joke around and talk game theory and ask for explanation for roles and other questions etc etc. But almost no scumhunting. You don't develop on your questions. You don't dig deep enough that it looks like you're really interested in figuring anyone out, just surface level stuff.
im scumhunting you right now!

it's not like i'm not good at fake scumhunting... i get a little offended when people try to call me scum for playing scum badly. i'm very good :] i dont always follow up on everything and i don't think that's a huge problem. i'm allowed to have private thoughts about reactions to me, and i'm also allowed to forget things which i do quite routinely

Esp from VC 2.3/2.4 to 2.5 where Vaxkiller jumps up to being run up instead of Majiffy, it looks like the scum team lagged their votes on a town mislynch (Majiffy), with hiplop being off wagon. ABR was committed to bussing Fedora, and it looked like the scumteam were trying to push the Majiffy wagon through.
This is where a VCA user randomly chooses between "scum wouldn't put all their votes in a row" and "scum picked a town mislynch and running up 3 scum at the same time has never happened in human history because it's impossible."

thinking my miller claim is scummy isnt an ok opinion. here are the ok opinions:

a) it's my role
b) the mods put it in as a scum fakeclaim in the anticipation that this would be a reasonable role for scum to claim

do you think my character is likely to be in the game or a scum fakeclaim? do you think i would just make up being a miller for no reason? a and b are your options.

I was leaving the door open that I might have something good so I could still be a night kill target. When people claim ascetic do you assume they're a vanilla ascetic? Obviously not. I wanted to allow the possibility scum would want to nightkilled my useless ass.

You're proving my point. The fact that you only claimed miller without adding "I might have additional abilities" meant you wanted miller as your full claim. BUT then once the neighborhood figured out neighbors=enablers you wanted to make it clear you're not only a miller so once people out you're an enabler you can go "yeah haha I'm an enabler-miller".
Because it's not necessary to say. Like I just said, if I claimed just ascetic, no one would assume i wasn't anything else. it's a modifier. i wanted to add that then because the existence of the table seemed like it was codifying "this is X's whole claim."

You'll latch onto any possible point of attack without spending half a second to think about whether it makes sense at this point. You know you only need to sound logical long enough to try to trick whoever the third town player is into voting hiplop and there won't be a tomorrow if it works.

Regardless of whether you would like to pitch that I was planning on trying to get out of claiming enabler (which, incidentally, why? It sounds town), I was also a neighbor. Clearly I wasn't planning on claiming miller was my entire role, since you can't not claim neighbor when 4 other people know about it. Lol.

Neighbor is a modifier and miller isn't? Fucking please. And youve yet to answer what scum motivation there is no trying not to claim enabler.

"Neighbor miller" or "miller neighbor"? Which of those sounds correct? It's the second one, because neighbor has never been a modifier.

It's worth noting that majiffy has literally never had any reason for wanting to lynch me. Like, lets not forget the reasons why he's been scum since day 2 and you all preferred to plug your ears and lynch whoever the fuck we lynched day 2.

It was a gambit. It worked. Was it necessary? I dunno. None of us were dead when we decided it was a good idea. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In post 7767, kuribo wrote:I honestly don't think we'd have succeeded with any other scum team.

The plan from day 1 pretty much was to have me and Ceph carry the end game. The rest of the team did a masterful job supporting that. From ABR suggesting we vig a teammate, to Titus and Ali sowing discord by splitting towns reads on them for days, to vax just completely baffling them with bullshit to the point they were still worried about a redirection after his flip, to Ceph's manipulative towniness, it all just kinda came together. We all said what we had to say, killed who we had to kill, and set up associative tells with the people we needed to. In the end, we even helped foster a sense of helplessness and apathy that would leave some town players feeling isolated to where the only people they could rely on were the scum team.

We did great you guys, and we won.
Have you considered motivational speaking? :P

I dunno. It's hard to parcel it out in the form of advice. I've learned a lot about cognitive dissonance and such. Most of my scum game is just being really good at pretending to be my town game. 95% of my strategy is "dont get lynched." Though as has been pointed out I slipped a bit here and started backsliding into overconfident mode.

Anyway the point is I dunno if I can do specific pointers without being you. My ways not for everyone anyhow though, and I think having a mix of styles on a team is often beneficial.

This probably won't be news, but you have to play a different game with different players. When people who know you are in the game you have to figure out what each of them wants your town game to look like, regardless of whether their perceptions are accurate ^^
