Not 100%. Depends, sometimes the aid can be misguided and make things worse for the poor country. I say if people give aid, do research.

And economic downturns impact this since if you are poor, then it is tough to give money.

How should a person live their life?
There's nothing that says that a fake can't beat the real thing.

You must not imagine that for beings like you and us there can be laughter. The low men laugh, and we envy them. But for us, the higher ones, there is no laughter, only an unending vigil, purely serious, stretching on into the night.

Who am I to decided how someone else lives their life? I don't know them so I wouldn't be a good choice. They themselves would be a better choice

That happens. There are checks and balances which have people investigate the murders and they might catch the killer, they might not.

Though murdering is a minority action for humans so while there are people who do murder, that isn't grounds for having someone decided how everyone lives their life.

Do you think someone should live their life in a way that doesn't involve murder?

You know, I have a big knife that I keep around for moral relativists like you. I tend to wave it their face and then ask, "I think it would be really good for me to put this knife into you, do you think I should?". If they answer no, I ask "why? should we not do what is good?" if they say yes, then I kill them and go about my day.

Well killing me is detramental to my health. If you try I'll try and stop you.

Plus you would have to remeber that such an action has consequences. And in the end, is that action worth it?

What do you gain from killing me?

Well on the other end, I would die. All the work you put in schooling would end and your life will be based on my death from that point on probably.

Though at least you won't get banned if I'm dead. Though if I survive the attack or even kill you in self defence, I would get you banned.

People can survive multiple knife wounds.

still not a reason to be found as to why I shouldn't kill you. I think it is good. If good is subjective, then there is no way for you to refute it. All you can say in response is, "are you really sure it's good?" at which point to defeat you I just repeat that it is. Moral realism wins because it allows us to actually start a conversation about what "Good" is.

Good and bad don't impact consequences to your actions. Like the police.

Serial killers face this risk despite having a different set of good and bad.

This situation isn't in a bubble.

Chaos is.

Well I'm not a big fan of murder but murder isn't always a choice for some. With the news, in a way, all our lives are, indirectly at least, inolved with murder.

TV shows like Criminal Minds are based off murder.

I wonder if Cooldog would get banned if he stabbed Anna to death.

I guess he would if the mod team found out about it.

So "good" depends on what humans agree on, rather than an external objective truth(let us set aside the question of what that truth is for now)?

In a world where it was universally agreed on that sexism is good, is sexism suddenly good?
In society, the word "good" does indeed turn towards meaning what the majority thinks is true. Therefore, this would be the accepted meaning of "good", yes.

Personally, I believe that good things have no, or very sparce, physical and mental pain and prevent physical and mental pain. My votes in society reflect this. Everyone else's vote reflects their opinion. Generally democracy is the best current way to limit "physical" and "mental" pain
as long as it is a true democracy where no group is unable to vote and anyone gets a say.
Is this really the best idea? In the US, convicted felons are disallowed from voting. While sometimes this cn cause problems, I generally agree with this sentiment. Do you want a tax evader voting on tax issues? I don't.

This is correct. IMO there is no "benevolent dictatorship". SOMEONE will abuse power.

People are greedy. You yourself say that people are generally evil: so being in a position of power would draw out that evil wouldn't you think?

people are not generally evil

that opposes the meaning of the word of evil if you're defining it people who are persuading whats morally wrong

as then its morally right for the majority of people

so maybe they are angels and you are evil?
