- Each player starts off possessing their own heart in pregame.
- You may give your heart away during the pregame phase.
- As a night action, you may choose to give away any heart you currently have, but only one each night. This is not compulsive.
- Your heart is what determines your life on nightkills only. Mafia targets a player for their nightkill. The players of which that player controls the hearts of, die.
- If you possess your own heart at any point, your status is set to introverted, effectively removing your vote until you no longer possess your heart. This effect will disable when there are 3 or less players left alive.
- Once during the game, you may choose to destroy a heart in your possession, effectively killing that player. It will set your status to bitter, making you unable to destroy another heart. You will receive the hated modifier, which will only disable when there are 3 or less players left alive.
- A mafia goon may not both kill and destroy a heart in the same night phase.
- If a player dies because their heart was killed, they must pledge any hearts in their possession to a single other player still alive.
- The heart of a lynched player will be automatically destroyed without penalty to the holder. Any hearts the lynchee possesses must be pledged to a single other player still alive.
