I did reject the hydras and PMed the players about it.
Right now, since I'm running an experiment, single player slots would work better for it.
The one hydra I've allowed has been grandfathered in, because I told them yes before making the final revisions. I'd prefer them to play as single slots, but that is up to them.
I'll allow hydras to sign-up if we're struggling to fill playerslots, but hopefully it won't come to that.
You must have completed at least one theme game on-site (Mini or Large). If you are an alt or a hydra, the account must meet the same requirements.
Hydras will not initially be allowed to sign-up without my prior approval. If hydras do sign-up, a Max of 3 will be allowed, and preferences will be given to hydras who have completed any of my previous games (as T-Bone or Three-Pronged Trouser God). If you do not meet this requirement, then you'll have to ask me I guess. I'd prefer to keep the hydra count where it currently is.
If you have ever flaked from one of my previous games (as T-Bone or Three-Pronged Trouser God) you cannot sign up.
Pre-in players, please confirm in-thread.
Important Notice:
With the above in mind, I will also be running an experiment on Day 1.
Players who have post counts that are widely variable from the median post count will be punished on Day 2 with the Hated modifier (requiring one less vote to lynch). I will probably be using the Median Absolute Deviation to calculate this, but I can be convinced of using a different metric by a stat nerd smarter than me.
The point of this is to not punish anyone, but to ensure players are playing the game at similar levels. Basically, you are incentivized to neither lurk and post the minimum, nor have outrageous post counts. The idea is for every player to post and play the game at the same pace. I don't mind if the game reaches one million posts on Day 1, so long as every player is more or less equally participating and contributing to that. I have specific rules on spam posting and lurking in my standard ruleset, and those rules will still apply.
Remember, this is just an experiment! Don't let the existence of this experiment ruin your ability to have fun!

I think Standard Deviation (using the average) would be better, and you punish those who are say 1.5 standard deviations from the mean. (I'm not sure how much post counts vary -- I think 3 standard deviations is pretty rare though.)

Statistically, 2 standard deviations away is considered unusual as 2 from the mean counts as 95% of the data. This is of course in a normal distribution. I assume our post counts won't be normal.
