UNDISTRIBUTED, we'll sell/split this in Raintree:
1090gp (I think the captain's 200 gp is in this pool? I didn't take out my 33.33, at least)
black onyx gem
blue gem (sapphire)
masterwork breastplate
masterwork light mace (or let Raia or Sigma hang onto it for DR/bludgeoning? It is good to be prepared)
+1 longsword

UNIDENTIFIED:
Captain's ring
650g, three yellow polished gems (looks like yellow topaz worth about 100 each, but doublecheck this in town)
MWK Padded Armor
MWK Light Wooden Shield
+1 Shadow Chain Shirt (+5 to hide)
MWK Light Flail
MWK Bastard Sword
+1 Shock Greataxe
MWK Silver Dagger
Ring of Animal Friendship

Scroll of Magic Weapon
Scroll of Spectral hand
Scroll of Cat's Grace
Scroll of Heroism
Scroll of Deep Slumber

Scroll of Cure Minor Wounds
Scroll of Longstrider
Scroll of Bear's Endurance

Wand of Fox's Cunning, 19 Charges
Wand of Web, 30 charges

Horn of Goodness
Elixir of Love
And Erwin's stuff.

Andrius should probably have first crack to get himself equipped, we can retroactively say what we found from there. I...can't find what paladins start with, but yeah, none of the classes start with much.

Well I'd like the trollbane sword or the shock greataxe............

I'm thinking the chain shirt goes on fiona (she has the strength for it, and it's +1 defense as well)

The wand of foxing cunning can only be used by fiona in our party so she gets that too

Not sure on any of the scrolls right now, cat's grace is dex though so fiona will hold that as well

The MWK silver dagger we should keep and achan can have it as a backup or something

Spoiler: As Promised
Two figures stand at the edge of a bluff, overlooking a view of the mortal plane below. A wolf stands next to a man clothed in white, save for a notable red bandana around his neck, peeking out from under a white collared shirt. The man speaks in a low voice.

"You know, we had plans to go dancing." Houndour looks up at Erwin expectantly.

Erwin sighs, looking down at his hands, no longer soaked in blood, no longer worn after years in the streets. "I didn't want to wait - this group has been surrounded by death from the beginning. I knew, knew if I waited to ask her…" he pauses, looking down at the dog. "It'd be too late and one of us wouldn't make it."

Houndour nuzzles against Erwin's leg but is silent.

Erwin ran a hand through his hair. "We didn't even get that chance."

"You did a fine job leading them."

Erwin turns, to see Aylin and Ayarte standing next to him, joining him in gazing down at the party below. Growlithe snuggled in Ayarte's arms, licking her face excitedly.

"I failed to keep them safe. That thing took Fiona down. Achan ran. Who knows what happened to the others who didn't join us?"

Aylin shrugged. "You found a warrior's death. That much is to be proud of. Even if you didn't avenge me, you did a good job leading The Order of The Cart after my death."

Growlithe purred in Ayarte's arms. "And my death was not your fault." the paladin chimed in.

"I suppose not. Still. I feel like I was finally righting the wrongs I'd inflicted on the world. We were doing good work."

Ayarte smiled. "They'll be fine without you. Hellion will take care of them. I'm sure of it. His heart's in the right place."

"I'm not the only one who cared for another member of the party." Erwin chuckled.

Ayarte looked down at the wolves. "It would have been nice to get to know him."

"If only we had more time." Aylin said, stretching her arms. "I could use a good fight right about now."

Erwin looked puzzled. "Don't you have all the time in the world up here? Whatever plane this is."

"The point of the afterlife, dear brother, isn't to fight."

Erwin spun around to see his younger brother, wearing simple clothes and a baker's apron. His arms were covered in flour.

"J-Jason?"

"In the flesh." Jason smiled. "Well, sort of. But that's not important. It's been a long time, brother. Come on over to our place, the bread's almost done."

"I-I" Erwin stammered. "This is a lot to process."

"Well, we've got all the time in the world. Gather your thoughts and meet me at the bakery. You can't miss it. It looks just like dad's old place." Jason approached his older brother and hugged him, arms covered in flour. "Don't be late now, eh? We've not missed a dinner together in years." He smiled and turned, and Aylin followed after him.

Ayarte cast one last glance below, no doubt looking for Raia and Hellion, before smiling and following after the others with Growlithe.

Erwin and Houndour lingered for a moment, the former staring down towards the mortal plane below, tears running down his face.

"I don't want an eternity here without you, Fiona." Erwin said quietly. "I lov-" he stops himself. "…I'll be waiting for that dance." He wiped his eyes with the red bandana and turned to join the others. "Come on, Houndour. Dinner's on the house tonight."

Houndour barked excitedly at his side.

If I could draw this scene, Houndour is at Erwin's side, Aylin is standing there looking proud and tall, and Ayarte's holding Growlithe who's cuddled against her, licking her face.
"This is the true face of a man who plays paladin."

One of my concerns was that Jason literally does all the talking, but given I'd probably be speechless if/when I meet my dead brother in a heaven scenario, then Erwin would be as well.

Growlithe seemed more like a cuddler than Houndour, and Houndour never met Ayarte.

Aylin seemed to be TRUE WARRIOR so I ran with it.

I was arguing for leaving behind the sword before, but the veteran group makes a compelling argument for taking it:

If we leave it, it'll almost certainly be gone by the time we come back for it. It's metagaming, but it's not like it'll just have vanished into thin air--it'll be gone because someone took it. Whose hands do you think it'll wind up in?

I think we should very seriously try to figure out how to get more healing in Raintree.

Yeah, if you didn't have Scribe Scroll I'd write this off as a suicide mission and say we still needed to leave it anyway. But even with that...assuming we rest in the sanctuary before heading to Raintree (which FakeGod is assuming we'll do, although I'm not sure how we deal with the ghoul fever issue), that's 40 scrolls produced in a day. The wand had 50 charges and we used every single one. We are now about to face stronger monsters that can do more damage, and we are underleveled to boot.

Scribe Scroll is huge. But on its own, it's still not quite enough, not without more downtime than we're going to get.

Another thing to do if we take the artifact:

There's only a 1/20 chance of any given item we want being in the Raintree market if we let the troll surge keep going. We have lots of loot burning a hole in our pocket, but most of it isn't really useful to us. We should each make a shopping list covering everything up to 4000gp that we could possibly want, because only a tiny fraction of it will be available to us. (If you want help with that shopping list, I can do my best.)

It's an awkward situation because I have no idea how much money we actually have. So much of it is wrapped up in loot, which makes it hard to split.

Anyway, as a sample, here's what I'm thinking with Rose. A lot of these would be really great in bulk, too. Quantity over quality; I'm still brainstorming:
mithril buckler
+1 mithril buckler
headband of intellect +2
+1 mithril chain shirt (or someone willing to enchant mine)
cloak of resistance +1
cloak of resistance +2
amulet of health +2
+2 masterwork search item
+3 magical item of search
+4 magical item of search
+5 magical item of search
+6 magical item of search
+2 masterwork spot item
+2 masterwork listen item
+2 masterwork sense motive item
+2 masterwork sleight of hand item
+2 masterwork knowledge arcana item
+2 masterwork knowledge local item
+2 masterwork spellcraft item
+2 masterwork concentrate item
+2 masterwork tumble item
item of continuous Reduce Person
item of continuous Protection From Evil
I think the masterwork tools might be available anyway? I'm not sure, this might be a magicmart-specific restriction.

I get the opinion this group is becoming less RP and too mechanical for my tastes.
I hate us always making decisions on just what is the most optimal.

I agree. We don't need a filthy optimized (mechanically overpowered) fleshrake in our party, we can do with a riding dog or a boar or something fun

Or a wolverine, ape, bear

I'd like to rp things during the sessions

I've been theory crafting another character to bring in if I were to die

I made it level 4 because I'm cocky but not too cocky

It is currently planned at Barbarian 1/Human Paragon 3 with plans to go for fighter for the rest

As for the character design, I know that they will dislike arcane spellcasters and be cocky and probably some form of chaotic (real chaotic, not Rose chaotic)

Please look forward to it (because I'm cocky but not too cocky)

Oh and it doesn't have any gear currently

Uh the bear is a black bear

And it's medium sized and an omnivore

Sorry if I got your hopes up (though you can still get it if you want, I don't think it's hp or ac are too good either unfortunately)

Here's the base creatures to choose from: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/classes/druid.htm

IF you get to level 7 there's a much better looking brown bear that can grapple as a free action after attacking and is large sized and has a boatload of hp

Also it weighs around 1,800 pounds

Here are the bears I'm looking at for druids:

Black (level 4): http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/bearBlack.htm

Brown (level 7): http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/bearBrown.htm

Keep in mind the brown bear would be -6 levels and I'm not quite sure what that means. Also it's quite off in the distance. I think it's what you'd be thinking of for a bear though

Note that you don't have to get a new companion, necessarily.

Should you keep your riding dog, it's going to be stronger than its listed entry. (extra 13 hp, extra +3 to hit, extra +3 AC, extra +1 to damage, extra +1 to Fort and Will saves, extra +2 to Ref saves)

Okay...it looks like scrolls can have multiple spells on them, but since you're expending the spells as you scribe them, we still can't produce 40 CLW spells in a day. Raia only has 7 spell slots.

So a CL3 scroll Raia spent 375 gp on would produce about 66 hp total, from four CL3 Cure Lights and three CL3 Cure Moderates. (Or 70 hp for 450 gp if we pulled out all the stops and threw on Cure Minor Wounds too. A scroll needs one constant CL regardless of how many spells are on it, and casting orisons at CL3 is shaky.) A CL1 scroll would be 87.5 gp for 38.5 hp of healing.

A CLW wand like the one we burned through has 275 hp in it, so yeah, this isn't a solution.

Firebringer, is there any way I talk you into going leopard? I can go with mechanical arguments, but I could also just post a bunch of leopard pics, because leopards are in fact way cooler than dinosaurs.
