Yep same for me. At first It sounded like something I would give high points to but then it got very whateverIn post 156, KuroiXHF wrote:
Agreed. It had a good beginning, but it lost it for me.In post 155, Psyche wrote:Kinda hoped for more from Conceptual Romance. I don't like it much after this first listen, but it's interesting enough that I'll check in again sometime before voting (supposing I do that).-

bolivia- okay....i LOVE blixa but....what was this?
i looked it up and got this:
okay...i appreciate the research behind this, but ultimately it's Dada-ist stuff that i cant appreciate nor respect and doesn't evoke any feelings in me. descriptions of this album claim that it's supposed to evoke the horrors embedded in the sounds they conjure from the terror of the industrialized 20th century. in reality, it fails to be more than a cold mathematical piece. compare this to schnittke's compositions, for example, that were also inspired by the horrors of war, you dont even need to be told what the music is about to recognise that you're listening to miniature nightmares"“This is an example of a Wikipedia supported composition,” smiles Bargeld. “I did a mathematical calculation. saying each beat is one day, we're doing it in 4/4, at 120 beats per minute, and each instrument is one of the powers involved. We tried it in 60 bpm it is true – that was 26 minutes long, which was quite annoying. We could have sped it up to 160 bpm and it would have been comical. So 120, it’s a good medium decision. We had 20 different pipes to represent all the different nations and the duration of their involvement. It starts from beat 1, Serbia, Austria, Germany, and tak tak tak tak, whoever comes in joins this big party of the First World War run until the start of armistice.
“It's a statistical piece of music,” declares Bargeld, “a statistical piece of dance music in fact, because if you hear that, you want to move around to it.”-

Oh no dw...actually after seeing how my past Maki Akasawa entry got mixed reviews, i decided to put the weirder folk and psychfolk jazz stuff I had as low priority entries bc I thought no-one would like them...so seeing how well-received your entry was encouraged me to start submitting more of the psych-folk stuff that I keep chickening out of submitting not next contest though :p next contest I'm submitting balkan folk
